Why would he think the jedi are evil?

Anakin’s shit logic was a preconception of the modern woke movement. Like him, they view all previous institutions that work just fine but didn’t completely cater 100% to him as unironically evil and seeks to destroy them all in a petty tantrum of perceived oppression. This is what all this “my personal truth” nonsense is all about

Well let’s see, they manipulated him as a young kid to leave his mother and let her remain a slave, then they raised him and tried to indoctrinate him to their ways, they then forbade him from ever seeing his mother again and didn’t let him even attempt to free her or save her from that backwater planet and neither did any of the Jedi or their connections, then they forbade him from pursuing the woman he loved, then when he finally had enough and went to go visit his mother he found out she was being held captive by sandBlack folk who were starving, abusing, and raping her, then they punished him by refusing to let him become a master despite him deserving it, tried to overthrow and kill the only man who seemingly understood and tried to help him, I mean I can give more reasons but I think that’s enough. Of course he thought they were evil.

The Jedi limit themselves with how much of the force they're willing to use. The Sith are willing to use lightning and life-extending force powers. For the Jedi to keep this knowledge secret is evil to Anakin who wants to extend Padme's life.

Even if the Sith don't actually know how to extend life, they will at least try. The Jedi wouldn't even try, or at least that's what Palpatine told Anakin.

Because the jedi, the council and obi-wan in particular, were never able to properly empathise with him.
Liam neeson should have been his master because he was the only jedi who thought for himself and would have been able to properly guide an outlier like anakin.
But since anakin was trained by the arch-conservative obi-wan his growth both as a person and as a force user was stunted, which anakin somewhat correctly recognised as early as in the attack of the clones. The jedi of course weren't deliberately holding him back, their teachings regarding the abandonment of emotions and human relationships just didn't suit anakin and upon seeing this the council merely became more suspicious of anakin, instead of questioning their own prejudices and procedures and substituted them with empathy like liam neeson had done.
Palpatine was then able to make use of anakins doubts and fears by fanning anakin's justified suspicions about the jedi to the point were anakin became convinced that jedi, who never seemed to care for human lives, particularly the lives anakin cared for (anakin sought assistance from yoda regarding the dreams of padme's death and yoda's answer was that he should learn to give up his loved ones. Considering what had happened to anakin's mother following similar dreams yoda's reply must have been a punch in the gut), were not really the defenders of peace and justice they claimed to be, but deceitful schemers who had conspired not only against anakin but also against the republic itself.

they told him that saving his mom is wrong. That falling in love is wrong. Problem always was that the Jedi brainwashing didn't work well on him because he was already too old when he started training. But at the same time this was a massive plothole because it was never an issue for Luke.

      Anonymous

They never told him it was wrong. More that he cannot both follow the Jedi code and do these things because your feelings will start to effect you horrible ways which draws people down to the dark side, and they were correct for that is exactly what happens to Anakin. They warned him of the consequences and he ignored them thinking he was too strong and powerful to fail.

        Anonymous

Or maybe it was because they were incorrect he fell into the dark side. If they had been more reasonable and trusting, none of that shit would have happened. Keep in mind that by the time of the prequels the Jedi are in severe decline and their methods don't work at all. I don't know if that was what George was actually trying to convey, but it's certainly what came through the screen. They were weird, outdated priests obsessed with their dogma as gospel despite getting fricked left and right.

          Anonymous

They were reasonable and trusting. They have a code they follow very strictly and anakin knew that as well but when he acted out they tried to reason with him. They didn’t even punish him for acting out (and maybe that was the real mistake) but to act like the Jedi did something wrong that’s just a lie. Anakin kept shit from them, he didn’t tell them anything. He only confided in packs and palpatine. Anakin betrayed them and their trust far before they did anything to him. It was all unfairly perceived nonsense,

The only thing the Jedi did wrong were acting far too cautiously and slowly. They grew too comfortable in the time of peace and that was their undoing.

            Anonymous

No, they weren't. They were suspicious and apprehensive of him since day 1. They didn't send him on important missions, they had Obi Wan spy on him, they refused to give him the title master. When he goes on with his worries to Yoda in ROTS, Yoda basically tells him to frick off. Ironically their fear of him and the power he might possess caused them to shun him which in turn caused him to confide with Palpatine since he was the only one willing to listen and indulge.

With Anakin or without Anakin, by the prequels the jedi order was beyond outdated and useless and was in need of a serious reform.

              Anonymous

No they put their suspicion aside and accepted him to be taught. You are taking preconceptions before he was accepted and acting like they did this for the next decade when in reality he was treated properly like every other student. They only got suspicious because of him starting to confide in people outside of the order and one in particular was a politician who usually exploit everyone around them (and they were right about that too)

I think you just have problems with authority figures and are feeding that into your opinions on anakin.

It's hypocritical when one of the top ranking leaders of the Jedi uses the dark side, if the council said "no dark side use by anyone whatsoever" or "okay fine but don't overdo it" Dooku and Anakin probably wouldn't have quit the Jedi

          Anonymous

Incorrect. It’s how a power is used that determines if it’s a dark side move or not (at least until people bastardized the canon). Also this is a changing of the argument. The Jedi were never a police force or group used for enforcement of the republic. The only acted in defense. That was their creed and they stuck to it.

            Anonymous

The argument is why is the dark side bad and banned if the top of the Jedi council uses the dark side. How the dark side is used matters I agree but just letting some Jedi use those powers is one of many things that could have de-escalated the fall of the Jedi

            >two people who disagree heavily with the Jedi methods “leave” the order.
            >they then become to two most infamous fallen Jedi with lords.l and cause the Jedi nothing but grief.
            >you want to use their views as examples of why the Jedi are bad when ultimately they both proved the Jedi were absolutely correct.
            Interesting how your brain works.

Instead of being the galactic police force they could easily be, they function as lap dogs to the powers that be and only get off their ass to settle mundane trade disputes and other trivial matters of commerce instead of actually helping the people of the galaxy.

The whole point of the Jedi order was it was supposed to be a monastic group of martial artist monks much like d posted in old China, they were never to be a police force or any kind of enforcement body. More that they just existed to support the republic in their own way and give advice and defend the republic from external threats if need be. They were tricked into becoming involved in the Naboo conflict under the thought they would just be serving as ambassadors which palpatine exploited fears and tried to act just as you yourself are treating them: as some sort of secret enforcement police. This is why you fail.
