After 4 seasons of Discovery and 2 seasons of Picard is there anyone left even watching this shit? I guess the Star Trek fandom has Stockholm Syndrome. Enjoy watching your beloved characters get recast yet again and having canon getting contradicted and retconned again.
>After 4 seasons of Discovery and 2 seasons of Picard
That's why this show is so good. We've had shit for years and they finally put out a true episodic Trek version. And even being ST, they don't force SJW shit down your throat
>Why's it so damn kino? Getting back to the roots of what made the series so good

it's finally Star Trek again, comfy good old schlop i can watch carefree

I don’t know anybody. There’s a weird clique of schizo posters (some exhibit bot behavior, to be honest) that relentlessly raids /trek/ threads here shilling Paramount. If there are any real fans I never seem to find them. If they’re here they get lost in the noise of obvious shilling and insane attacks on people who want to discuss the good stuff.
>insane attacks on people who want to discuss the good stuff.
Two groups do this. Autists who treat everything released from 1990 to 2000 as a security blanket and autists who unironically watch the star trek rick and morty ripoff.
Roots my ass. It's garbage. I gave it the benefit of 5 episodes and they ran it into the ground. It's not even remotely close to what made TNG so good, which The Orville nails, but instead so much preachy drama and long boring scenes where people overtly virtue signal at each other while the plot is forgotten. Characters that don't deserve so much screentime are inexplicably getting screentime. Like we should only be focusing on the sickbay crew Mbenga and Chapel when there is actually some medical emergency and yet every episode somehow shoehorns a scene for them in it regardless of whether or not it's relevant to the plot. Same with Ortega and security officer lady. Episode 5 was so fricking dull I wanted to tear my eyes out. So much boring fricking stupid drama. We don't fricking care about Spock and T'Pring's relationship. That belongs on a CW show. We don't care about Enterprise bingo, or "girls get it done". Imagine an entire episode about "guys get it done" with only that message and nothing else. It would be just as boring. Except the entire series feels it somehow deserves to have every episode preaching the exact same thing now.
Uhura - I'm so smart
Number 1 - I'm so strong
Chapel - I'm so sassy
Ortega - I'm so skilled
Singh - I'm so tortured
This is literally worse than PIC S1
>which The Orville nails
I'm gonna be honest with you, I dropped the Orville because of Bortus. I don't even object to his whole concept itself, it's perfectly viable Trek Shit, but clearly somebody thought it was amusing to just show two fat black guys making out and about the second time it happened I was like "Yeah, I'm not in the mood for a show that's gonna make this a recurring thing"

Gender non-conforming behavior in men causes other men to get Uncanny Valley vibes.
No, not really. The action constantly comes screeching to a halt so Seth of whomever can chase someone around so they can "talk about their relationship".
It's mediocre at best, but because it's comparatively better than any Star Trek series in recent times it can give some the impression that it's amazing. There is potential for good things, but that is yet to be demonstrated. Also, Nurse Chapel's weak jaw frustrates me.
Is side-cut a confirmed dyke? I'd be surprised if they weren't, but it wouldn't change much because she's thankfully not the man-hating kind with something to prove. She may as well be written as a regular man but portrayed by a woman.
very few people do
the writers have given us no reason to like her minus her name being uhura
same goes for ortegas
the rest of the main cast has already been given a real personality
After years of people telling me total garbage like STD and STP were good it's going to take like 5 consistent years of the internet screeching about how "good" this show is before I even start to believe it.
The writers of SNW didn't go to school, or if they did, it was the school of "let's watch these characters pointlessly banter before moving on to the next setpiece".
Every scene needs to have purpose beyond the basic "things that have to happen to move the plot forward". It doesn't have to be 100% Chekhov's gun, but you have to have some degree of density to the script. We don't need to see what amounts to being the same scene over and over again, we just need to see it once to get the point. Like that disaster episode where they keep returning to the sickbay just to show us they're still working on the solution or that episode where Pike and Spock are just trapped inside that archive room the entore episode. We don't need three scenes albeit brief scenes of number one picking up some guy and taking them to the medbay.
>Rated TV-MA
Nah.
The message of even TOS is arguably very sex positive. They could only get away with so much at the time though
What have you got against Massachusetts?

I saw that and was annoyed but they are just stating that america split into two sides, kinda like what is going on now

I haven't watched any of that stupid gay bullshit and I'm enjoying this show.

>strong female is a genius and has literal superpowers
Spock looks like a homo
spock has always looked like a homo
take that back
>prequel
dropped

I dropped Orville because there was way too much focus on who's dating who.

It just doesn't work as a long term gag.
does the orville get better?
I liked S1, S2 i just dropped because the first like 3-4 episode were all full drama nothing else
No, not really. The action constantly comes screeching to a halt so Seth of whomever can chase someone around so they can "talk about their relationship".
It's decent if you're not a whiny malcontent.

i want to nut on her face
She's the cutest female in the show but her one piece white uniform makes her body look horrible
All the females in SNW are not attractive, not ugly, but not good looking. 5/10 etc.
She looked nicer here.
Very submissive.
/trek/ will lust after anything.
I don't like her
because she is black?
Is there some other valid reason?
You're gay?
No you chud, it's her hair. I miss old Uhara
NuUhara isn't as bad as NuChapel.
To be fair, the side shave dyke is uglier than this ape
Regardless of what they look like, they're nice.
Eew.
>40 year old Hispanic acting like a LGB Zoomer
It's enby done right.

I skip her scenes. After years of consuming media, I can tell within 2 seconds if a scene is worth it.

I really dislike the actor who plays captain pompadour , he's just too damn smug. I wish jeffrey hunter was still alive.
>jeffrey hunter
He'd be kinda old anon
>seethe more hairlet
you are just jealous of his hair
Incidental music from TOS with Spock and T'Pring MAKE MY DAY
Spocks gf is smoking hot
SNW isn't kino, it isn't great. It's slowly becoming good. Wait til the end of the season for making such boast.
>Why's it so damn kino
I see a couple of reasons right there.
Hemmer is absolutely based
He looks and acts like a massive homosexual.
It has one thing that STD and Hispanic lack: soul
>I will NOT watch your shit show, shills. >Especially now that Orville is back.
Yep.
That's what I said.
Good job, anon.
he's a good captain. spock isn't too annoying. people aren't unhinged.
You'll watch it all.
Looks like a monster in bed.
I hate short hair on women, but she looks good with it. She'd look better with long hair though. Her hair in the show is terrible.
