I think new IPs that do shit differently than every beanmouth cartoon that preceded them is objectively a good thing.

Will this be a good decade for animation, or its downfall?

The handful of indie animations is good. It's going to be hard to sustain for a full decade, thou. Glitch seems to be doing well, but I'm not sure how well Viz is holding up and Lackadaisy is not likely to go anywhere than Lackadaisy. If it can inspire more indie cartoons (and bring more light to smaller cartoons out there) then it'll be a great thing.

It's more likely this is a flash in the pan and only noteworthy because they're all happening around the same time. Most indie stuff will likely be trash, and a lot is likely to follow the Hazbin example of getting picked up by a studio and turned into more generic garbage. I still think more indie and more popularity for indie is a good thing, at least having them publicly available fricks over all these bullshit streaming services.

It's interesting that most objectively popular animation has come from independent sources. If this trend continues it will be easier to create new things either collaboratively or individually in a non-studio atmosphere.

Is that good or bad? Only time will tell.

The fetish decade, where all the people who got their fetishes from cartoons now make them.

Crowdsourced animation comes with a complementary feeling of camaraderie, so it's always better.

I have one: because from episode to episode the narrative seems to go in different directions it's difficult to create the proper narrative. This could be fixed with dialogue but as the creation exists without dialogue it's extremely difficult to properly form into a cohesive story. While non-sequential story-telling is actually beneficial to many existential horror stories quite frankly there isn't enough anchor points in the story to make it comprehensive.

Not one person in this imageboard has the ability to predict their own future, let alone that of animation as a whole. The query is therefore dismissed.

Why is this era unironically better than the 2010's?
