there were like 16 producers on that and there’s no footage or interviews about him being involved
he probably had 10% involvement on that compared to his usual work
Living colour
Led Zeppelin
Los lobos
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lemonheads

Lamb of God
Little Red
Limp Bizkit
Leftfield

There's 11 that start with the same fucking letter. And that's not including solo artists. There's plenty of perfectly fine bands, Linkin Park were nothing special.
songs like points of authority and hit the floor, breaking the habit, papercut are the apex of that genre for their time
name a band who executed the rap metal emo hybrid better in recent years
>Name 11 other bands in that genre from that time at all.
i could but they’re all shitty which was my point essentially
That style is shit. Literally no one who does it is good.
linkin park did that style better and made a killing and became a household name because of it is all i’m saying and that’s why i have some respect for the og first two albums

They can barely play their instruments and need pro tools and laptops to sound like functional and basic band. The raps are awful and Chester is embarrassing.
>Living colour - Shit >Led Zeppelin - Close but No >Los lobos - Who >Lynyrd Skynyrd - Not even close >Lemonheads - No >(the) living end - No >Lamb of God - About equal >Little Red - No >Limp Bizkit - Lol, lmao even >Leftfield - No >LA Guns - wtf is this shit
I used to think they were a meme because they were popular, but after hearing them over the years I've grown to believe they are exceptional. Their music definitely stands out from all the similar bands of their time.
music kids have nothing to offer in life but collecting opinions they think will make people like them or think some kind of way

Linkin Park is fucking amazing and will always be my favorite band. I discovered music through Hybrid Theory. Hearing the anger in Chester's voice opened me up.
Those first 2 albums along with EP, Reanimation, and the fact that the rest of their disco was at least solid, make them an incredible band with no bad albums.
I'm really not sure why they always made zoomers seethe. Guess they're sad they missed out on when we still had rocking music. Now they just have dance music and shit.
>trying this hard
LP was always shit listened to by little grubby turds lmao
Ehem...

Limp bizkit was a way more fun numetal band. Chad's listened to bizkit and edgelords picked Linkin park
What shitty taste king crimson, and smashing pumpkins are top tier bands. Listen to red bro. If you like Sabbath you should recognize what both bands did for metal. Led zeppelin too
Compare pop of the era to pop of today. Gorillaz was also a pop band at that special moment in history. What happened? And also, how are blacks and garden gnomes responsible for it?
>What happened?
This website killed it. Cinemaphile had such a hate boner for anything Emo or Emo adjacent that their crusade eventually leaked out into the mainstream killing it
Linkin Park was always shit music for trailer trash who showed up at school reeking of cigarettes and threatened to fight everyone. Pop punk is far superior.
you got beat up by trailer trash who tucked your mom i guess
pop punk is for funko buying reddit monsters with ear gauges in their thirties
it’s music for people who wish they were still teens and pretend that’s not sad
at least trailer trash rock is high test
> Pop punk is far superior.
Holy shit what a gay. Bet you got your ear pierced then replaced the stud with a safety pin and told everyone you did it yourself. I also reckon you had a fat emo gf who stank of cheese.
you should get some fax bro. LP was prior to pop punk. at least for us at the forefront of the cultural revolution. i had my minidisc loaded with dashboard confessional on Christmas morning 2001. Guess what I was listening to on Christmas morning 2000?
some of their lyrcis are quite captivating and contains imagery that extends the cringe into profound territory, touching on the depth of interpersonal relatinships that has largely diminished in the social media age. You want to know what crazy, Linkin Parks lyrics has more depth and experience than most modern day relatioonships, xraz1y i. know
That really says more about how shallow relationships are in light of social media honestly. Linkin Park was not considered a profound group in terms of lyrical content even 10 years ago.
Lil B ushered in the based era, clown world is a product of his doing, once his resonance fades then the protection of his sacared pillars shall also a and the weight of the world will crush your little skulll into dust

I remember being dumb enough to think that WW2 happened in the 1960's. >"well gee whiz, you sure got alot of anti-nazi flicks in the 1960's. They must have been super topical."
When I was a toddler I thought color itself was invented in the 60s, because my grandma told me "they didn't have color before then" and I thought she meant IRL too.

Yeah agreed Living Things all the songs are samey but it's not bad, played well live, and the songs are widely used in like sports and shit lol. I don't know if I ever even gave Recharged a chance. But One More Light is not terrible, it has a few really nice songs, made especially poignant with what happened
I used to think they were good when i was kid because they were popular, but after hearing them over the years I've grown to believe they are pretty shitty. Their music is basically for angry teenagers and Slipknot, System of Down and Deftones not only do that better, but they've aged and evolved better
They were maturing. I can see why fans of the old shit didn't like it but it was an interesting contrast with their earlier edgy stuff.
Sharp Edges is practically a lullaby you'd sing to a child.
>They were maturing.
Well, it's all subjective, really. They changed up their style, and it happened to work for me. Most of the fans absolutely hate the last album, in part because randoms like me end up listening to only that album and taint the old-school Linkin Park legacy.
I threw on this album when I saw this thread a bit ago and I really love it. Well said here [...]
I find it very poignant and a great, pretty little album. I honestly prefer it to MTM, probably, which was caught in between being another HT followup, and this.
Yeah, I don't like everything on the album, but a few songs are very nice imo. Wish we could live in the universe where I get to see how they would have evolved from there.

I don't understand where this whole "they were a meme" came from. I'm pretty sure that's just a Cinemaphile thing, too...

It's pathetic how people still manage to like ancient music with basic instruments and average vocals such as led zeplin, black sabati and pink floid.
Accept world has moved on and we're civilized & better in 21st century.

I'm 41 years old, that was my era. I maintain they were nothing special
This. I'm not that old, but Linkin Park hit when I was in freshman year of high school. Only gays liked them, they were pretty fucking mediocre.
name a better band of that style
That style is shit. Literally no one who does it is good.
>What happened?
This website killed it. Cinemaphile had such a hate boner for anything Emo or Emo adjacent that their crusade eventually leaked out into the mainstream killing it
I used to make fun of emo music as a teen and now I like it as a 30 year old.
will we ever get a kino o why Metallica's St Anger is actually an amazing album
it’s shit
the lyrics are shit
obviously the snare is shit
it repeats verses like 6 times each song
guitar solos would’ve actually saved it
Dude I have no love for them but *papercut* was kino
Linkin Park was always shit music for trailer trash who showed up at school reeking of cigarettes and threatened to fight everyone. Pop punk is far superior.

Yeah really .wow Ariana grande and drake is really fire innovative stuff
Lil B ushered in the based era, clown world is a product of his doing, once his resonance fades then the protection of his sacared pillars shall also a and the weight of the world will crush your little skulll into dust

That's how zoomers feel about the 1990s

I remember being dumb enough to think that WW2 happened in the 1960's.

I used to think Poland was in siberia.

Yep. He wanted people to know he was a pedo. Kept hinting at it. Fucked up.

Linkin Park is zoomer music.
Linkin Park will soon be the new dad rock
They already are
I AM
alittlebitofloneliness
alittlebitofdisregard
My favorite Linkin Park song is the one where they sing about the pain inside.
I used to think they were good when i was kid because they were popular, but after hearing them over the years I've grown to believe they are pretty shitty. Their music is basically for angry teenagers and Slipknot, System of Down and Deftones not only do that better, but they've aged and evolved better
Linkin Park introduced Pop Rock to blacks and the genre has been cancerous since.
Boomer here. This show was fun live.
>dat Avril
I need to go back
your arms must've been sore
I felt a pang of sadness when Chester died. Listened to his music and good god man it did not age well.
FUCK YOU MOM AND DAD
A Thousand Suns is their best
ywnbaw
It is tho
THERE IS A RAPIST IN LINKIN PARK
HE'S CLIMBIN' IN YO WINDOWS
Sucks that the guy died. I started to like the pop stuff they made. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kaUvGSLMew
