I love how Disney, with all their clout, money and resources, can't force people to like their slop. I'm surprised they haven't cut RT a check to just change the audience score.

They already make them freeze audience scores.

The discrepancy between critics score and audience score is enough for people to tell something is up and that it doesn't really represent the show's quality. So that means a lot of people will be watching for the sake of curiosity

      >I'm surprised they haven't cut RT a check to just change the audience score.
They did. RT deleted thousands of audience reviews. But even with that, it still wasn't enough. The real audience score is probably much lower.

I don't get why they don't just pay a bunch of jeets to review-bomb it in a positive direction. Say it was "fans of The Acolyte stand up to right-wing review bombing!"
Maybe it costs less to pay them to push le review bombing narrative.

        Anonymous

That's because there is no such thing as review bombing. The audience score is real.

If this could all be manipulated then they would do so from the beginning. You stated it yourself: just review bomb in the opposite direction. It says a lot about how powerless Disney is when they simply can't.

Lesbian space witches hold the TRUE answers of the universe, not those stinky Jedi. It's called "The Thread," not "The Force," and those chuds have been using it all wrong.

it kind of feels like an idiot had an idea for a really bad "lesbian space witches who are oppressed by evil men" show and was begrudgingly forced to try to make it sort of fit into star wars
and then it was produced with the usual Disney+ level of kwality - noticeably shit acting, awful cinematography, blurry indian CG etc

it's doubtless the worst star wars content ever produced, there isn't a single defensible thing about it. and then the musical scene where the lesbian space witches anakin up a couple of Black twins out of "the thread"

        >The Wire level writing
        lol fricking what
        the Wire is smart
this show opens with a woman being arrested for a murder committed on the other side of the galaxy with trillions of people in it, based on the description of a bartender which somehow was so exact it pointed to her, exactly. right away. theis woman has been working on her spaceship the whole time, surrounded by witnesses, on the wrong side of the galaxy, aka the most airtight alibi possible. the jedi don't even bother to ask, arrest her, but stick their suspected jedi murderer on some prison transport without any supervision, and after a fortunate prison break just happens to happen, then the transport crashes and the jedi have to go and rearrest her, whereupon they say "ok, yeah, i believe you now" - then the lady's twin sister some bad guy is revealed on a beach, talking to the other woman, and then he just lights up his red lightsaber to let the audience know he's a sith, even though that makes no sense whatsoever in the context of a conversation
and that's the least dumb episode. it gets worse with every new one

I like how they flew the single eyewitness across the galaxy to point her out in person rather than show him a holo or whatever.

Also Ahsoka showed how easy it is to survive impaling by lightsaber, but in this opening a 3 inch knife to the chest drops you dead instantly

I haven't actually watched it but from what I gather the plot is a coven of lesbian force users during the days of the High Republic (the galactic golden age a few hundred years before the prequels) who call The Force "The Thread" use The Force to create twins who then go on some sort of plot.
The concept unironically sounds really interesting but of course it's nu-Wars so you're dealing with bad acting, low-budget cgi, incoherent plot, poorly-coreographed fights, and a seeming allergy to taking any sort of narrative risk.

Even the "people" that like it can't explain how or why it's good. They can only deflect and say that the things the detractors are complaining about don't really matter. That alone says it all.

        >they'll just keep making this stuff
Sure, but at least low scores are a reassurance that people aren't taking it seriously. And the fact that people keep writing seething articles about it means that it bothers them.
Normies don't watch this nu-wars shit. You can tell what normies are watching because they never shut the frick up about it -- they watched Stranger Things, Tiger King, Squid Game, apparently a lot of them are watching Bridgerton now -- but they're not watching nu-wars.

That's the biggest victory, because this stuff is them lighting 9 figure money piles on fire to try to fuel their ideology. Bankrupting them is the goal.
