Well I'd hate to devolve into company war stuff but I genuinely did have more fun with Spidey, even if I did like the Arkham games. Funny thing is that I only played Knight once, which was weird because the other two games I replayed a few times. Not sure why Knight didn't hit me the same. Maybe the next Batman game series needs a "live" Gotham with actual civilians
I like the lively city but Spider-Man PS4 had worse puzzles, side quests, and especially Stealth compared to Arkham. The game forces you into open combat for some reason. Though I do find web slinging a much more enjoyable traversal compared to Batman's gliding.
Spidey's stealth suffered from being too easy. You can climb walls, trip mine web, and just snatch up thugs easily. I can't say Batman does puzzles any better because almost all of them are just tedious busywork.
I like how the Spidey combat allows you to be more creative and feels much more freeflowing.
I liked Spider-Man more than the Bamham games, but I still don't think either are that great. The gameplay doesn't have much technical sophistication so it often feels like it doesn't really matter all that much what I do, so long as I just avoid everything consistently.
Arkham hasn't been bundled with the console for 5 years.

Sure. This universe has the shittiest Peter around. They held off introducing any of his villains for later games so even though he's been Spidey for a long time, he comes off like a total greenhorn.
"He's been Spider-Man for 8 years" is only there to explain his gadgets. His will they wont they with mary jane, his total naivete with dealing with supervillains, his lack of prior adventures, all of it is Spider-Man 101 shit that fits a high school Peter better than a 25 year old. It's like he's done jack shit for 8 years other than web up muggers!!

I would’ve preferred it if they had MJ just be Betty and had MJ as an npc that “designed” peters unlockable costumes. Also it would’ve been better if miles wasn’t in the game at all

The movie, and first game were fine, and definitely a step in the right direction for giving the lifeless card board standee Bendis made an actual character, but his spin off just made me fricking HATE his tv/game voice actor.
4 hours of listening to his nasely prepubescent voice endless whinge on and on about Finn drove me over the edge.
16 damn collectibles of "oh, finn is so great", "finn is so smart", "finn did this", "finn did that" over and over again, it was exhausting.
His dad's quest on the other hand was touching, purposely corny and manipulative on the developers part to try and jerk some emotion out of the player, but still, a nice story.
I like the game better than Spider-Verse because his origin didn't require multiverse bullshit or a Peter dying. Plus he's regulated to sidekick tier in this universe.

I think the goal was them trying to establish a deep history between Finn and Miles so you felt bad about her/forgave her crimes. If I had to choose between the two I would rather they take out MJ and leave Miles in. While the forced stealth missions were shitty his story was fine.
MJ on the other hand has more, and longer stealth missions as well as having a moronic story line where she gets mad at Peter because he doesn't want her sneaking around areas with armed criminals that wouldn't think twice about capturing/killing her and she gets upset that he doesn't trust her.
Sad that Grand Central was MJ's greatest mission and that's only because Spider-Man was in it. It was fun shit to tag people and then watch him handle the rest.
Hopefully modders can undo their "fix" and give him back his original fricking face, frick that new one.

Just played Miles Morales for the first time. Excellent gameplay which bodes well for the sequel, but man they really make him a shrill annoying dink. Maybe the sequel will give him some pathos or something so the VO can start speaking like an adult. Really hoping for playable Venom.

You're both wrong. Venom will get his own spin-off game like Miles did. Not a full fledged sequel, and allows Eddie the space to have his own time in the spotlight for a story.

I never played Remastered and it really hasn't become a problem for me yet because I got into Miles Morales after and saw maybe one scene of him unmasked. It's going to be much more difficult when I have to play as him in 2 where he is going to show off that face. I try not to be bothered by too many things in vidya, but this is one of them.
