It was pretty good. Honestly, it's a 7/10 if Fury Road is a 8/10. Some of the chases were high stakes just because you know Furiosas copilot friend has to die and Furiosa has to lose her arm at some point... and sure enough Dementus has monster truck that can drive up walls so he catches them.

Its a 7/10. Nothing near as good as Fury Road. It lacks on every department. Also Anya was a huge miscast. She couldn't convince me that she was the badass Furiosa not for one minute. Chris was alright.

It feels like a bunch of deleted scenes stitched together to form this barely coherent mess of short action scenes with unnecessary digital flourishes and stiff dialogue. At no point do I believe the alien hottie is actually a traumatized stone cold killer in the dessert and unlike Max there’s no comedic accents to make the brooding more fresh. 5/10

Dementus is clearly the bigger bastard, but given the choice between staying at home and serving what is very obviously a different set of maniacs, it's an obvious choice. Plus that's not this movie's job. Fury Road does a perfectly fine job of establishing that the place is shit and that the War Boys are full of shit. This movie doesn't need to reiterate it.

Had to take a piss, someone fill me in on what happened between Furiosa and Jack going together to gastown and Jack tending to Furiosa's shoulder stab, and Immortan sending the empty war rig to bulletfarm for ammo.
Furiosa and Jack (if that's really his name) go to Gastown and Dementus is riding around on a monster truck like an butthole. Dementus warns them that the workers of gas town are losing their shit and starting to riot, basically. Dementus tells them to leave immediately before they swarm the war rig. Dementus also says he wants to meet Immortan Joe and the boys in 3 days at Joe's place. They leave without filling up with fuel. Some of the gas town employees jump down on the top of the truck and stab furiosa so Jack shoots them in the head and they drive back to the citadel.
Furiosa informs Immortan Joe and the boys that Dementus is coming to citadel so Joe sends the war rig to bullet town to get as much ammo as possible...

Dementus is a confusing bad guy. He's sort of likeable but unlike other villians in good movies, you don't agree with him about anything he does. He's hard to side with. Him and his gang of like 1000 other motorcycle riders just cruise around the desert taking over the various towns and running them to the ground like dumbasses. You are taught to hate him because he basically cuts Furiosas moms vegana out and makes her watch.
And yes Mad max is in 1 shot of the actual movie, shown leaning up against his bat car looking over the desert while furiosa walks through the desert alone. Tom hardys actual face is shown in the credit scenes.

Dementus is a charismatic leader who is a genius conqueror but a moronic governor. There are thousands of real life examples of this guy in history. Also his interactions with Immortan Joe are incredible

Just saw it. Fricking great and surprisingly enriches Fury Road even more while being it's own distinct thing.
Did anybody else catch those nods to Raimi? The "boomstick" bit and the motor engine in Furiosa's arm felt like pointed nods to the Evil Dead series. Which I am intrigued by, because George Miller is both Raimi's senior and they had very similar indie beginnings.
