The audience score should be higher and the critic score should be lower on the new season. It's only two episodes in and to have it rated higher than season 1 is inaccurate. Problem is though that Night Country is also getting review bombed by Monarchian trigger babies that get scrambled when they see a woman in anything but a supporting role.

          >review bombed
          Except it's not.
In fact the only call to action this so far has been from the director asking people to rate it favorably to "own the chuds"

Lmfao I knew someone would bite. The fact you can't acknowledge it's being review bombed by chuds shows where you stand and where your own agenda is. I view it objectively and impartially; chuds are review bombing AND HBO shills are shilling the show, as it happens. The proof is even in the reviews. Your post is ignorant cope.

Where is your evidence of this?

See, this is where I think you're losing the plot completely. You literally view a television show as an assault on an entire race, based mostly on the colour and pigmentation of someone's skin. You are fighting some kind of imagined enemy in your head and misunderstanding the intent completely. And it's a very narcissistic tendency to create this narrative where you are being affronted by pieces of media. In this case a work of fiction, a television show. lmfao

Frick off. There have been black actors in stuff for decades. This is far more overt and aggressive.
                The show is screaming
                >We destroyed your show for your sins white man
                >Next we're going to destroy you
                >Your grandchildren won't look like you

                >No one will be prosecuted for your murder
                >It will all be sanctioned by the government
When the black protagonist is talking about white people she's directly talking to the white audience and calling minorities to violence

      Anonymous

No matter how good it is, it will always be out of touch with reality. Inauthentic. Women don't succeed in the real world unless men help them. They always fail and they never work together. There's always backstabbing and infighting. That's the reality they don't want to show, so every empowered woman role on TV and in movies is going to be a fantasy, a fairytale. Fake is fake and, even though normies only want the appearance of authenticity, and just wanting something to be not so obviously fake, female heroes fail to fit the bill.

It's just another extension of the lie telling the media constantly does and a lot of us are sick of it already. There's going to be a resurgence of an age of "truth" and it's already starting to happen. "Political incorrectness" is coming back in vogue in places where people are being overrun by immigrants and treated like second class citizens in their native lands. And all these diversity hired shows rub it in our faces that it's a replacement scheme designed to confuse and confound entire cultures and belief systems.

Women in charge never have been, are not and never will be good. I hope this rant cleared up what the true issue is here with this type of programming.

Are you people moronic? They have the villain from season 1 back in the next episode literally revising his role. The whole story is littered with references and call backs to the first season. If there was any point where it was supposed to be unconnected to the True Detective franchise then they would have had to completely rewrite it, because of how intertwined and enmeshed it is with the story

When she goes to Connelly or whatever (police chief)'s house and he says "you fricked me at work, and now you're here to frick me for real" it's like wtf nobody talks like that irl. There's other instances of it, like the high school teacher explaining some gay science shit and all that. Very poorly written dialogue. But I'm still interested in seeing where the mystery takes us. I saw the first episode last week and Im still wondering why they didnt called forensic team.
Like several people just disappear from station and nobody even try to take fingerprints out of door handles for dactyloscopy?
Nobody is checking outside for footprints or tire prints and doing traceology? Do you know how hard it is to move 7 dead men bodies?
What about mechanoscopy? If someone break in and how? Broken windows or broken locks?
They must have cameras there, atleast outside right? Nobody checking that?
No they have cold case when they run investigation like this.

The whole story is littered with references and call backs to the first season. If there was any point where it was supposed to be unconnected to the True Detective franchise then they would have had to completely rewrite it, because of how intertwined and enmeshed it is with the story

I was rewatching True Detective season 2 and one line of dialogue has stuck with me so hard. Velcoro's dad saying "No country for white men". Hits had with the shit we're seeing today. Even just in regards to this TV show but obviously much larger than that too.

Back then they fricking knew. Like how the father appears to velcoro in a dream and describes the way he is going to die (which turns out to be true). Was like went back in time to warn us.

You need to take a breather, fren. I say this as someone who admires Hitler, and has read every flavor of fascist literature from Evola to Serrano. The point of television is to produce propaganda to numb your mind and leave you passive. In your case, you are borderline losing it due to perceived catatonia. Its the israelite s all over again.

        Anonymous

Why do admire Hitler? He didn't really do anything good. And I don't know about trading in democracy for a fascist dictatorship. I mean you need other people to give you perspective. It's like when you're left to your own devices, and you think it's a good idea to keep your old car battery in boot of your car. Then it starts leaking, and you discover that it's a serious hazard. Everyone makes mistakes, but I don't know if someones mistakes should be able to dictate the direction of a nation.

I suppose, but I'm also tired of the opinions and think-pieces of other people who are adamant in retaining their practices to the detriment of all. I also recognize the importance of having contradictory opinions to yours, but such opinions such only be made to arise from an elite society, and fascism achieves just that, especially Hitler's society, which is made off of the back of Nietzsche's unequal philosophies.

We already live in an ever-expanding capitalist society. Effectively, all nations are going to be loaded to the gills with people, like China, and IQ advantage will select an elite class of the new aristocracy. These will be the rulers of future generations. Reproducing for the poor will prove too much of a financial burden, and society will scale towards a more driven and intelligent population. You can already see evidence of this in the US, with financial variables contributing to declining marriage rates, which in turn affects outcomes for children.

              Anonymous

Yes, but herein lies the difference! Capitalism is not just an accumulation of riches
for commercial, financial or industrial ventures, but general individualism, free enterprise. It relies on the accumulation of seeing everything through the lens of objectification, as mere things, or now, as mere imagery, which is worse.
Fascism is opposite to such a view, objectification is idolatry and only a very specific semitic race glamorizes idolatry to such an extent. These people are not at all the echelons of elitism, they are insects who've cannibalized the essence of being human as risen above the rest, not by effort, but by greed. The point is 'free' enterprise is a mtth. Man cannot be free because we are bound by a-priori effects. Forgive my philosophical ramblings

              >Reproducing for the poor will prove too much of a financial burden
In practice this isn't what happens at all.
It doesn't happen as simply as Idiocracy either,

but in practice intelligence doesn't really affect reproduction chances

                Anonymous

If 3/4 of children are planned, and marriage rates are in decline because of bleak financial prospects for men who aren't deemed prospective mates, and children are a known financial burden, and single parent households are less likely to buy a property while also being 3 times more likely to put your child into poverty, and offspring in poverty are less likely to find prospective mates, then I'd say that finances do play a role.

                Anonymous

That doesn't mean what you think it means.
3/4 of children are planned not because planned people reproduce more but because there's an initiative to educate people on family planning, which means most people get exposed to it. Realistically, education on family planning reduces the chances of reproduction, and doesn't increase it, ACROSS THE ENTIRE demographic of rich and poor.

The world also isn't divided evenly between upper, middle, and lower class (non-UK definition). Like 80% of people are lower class now and the middle class is rapidly shrinking if not gone.
For the people at the very bottom and for a significant chunk of the other two other classes, financial prospects aren't going to be a major factor for reproductive success. And now that 80% of people are likewise pressured, the people slightly better off aren't going to have more children than those at the bottom, everyone is just not having children, hence the population decline.

Think of the places that aren't in population decline. India and Africa.

I dig it. I've had issues with every season of True Detective. When you consider Night Country was her show she brought to the network and they stuck a True Detective label on it, I can't exactly blame her for the backlash she is getting. There's some decent world building and mystery, and it isn't that divisive. It makes sense that a black native woman is making cracks about "whiteness", it's a vogue thing for young woman to do. Danvers makes similar cracks about the natives. For me, these things are consistent with the characters, and it doesn't bother me. Also, the show doesn't shit on men, and that young guy is one of the best characters.

No it's not. Each of those things are different from each other too. Ghostbusters, I'll give you, was a blatant gender flip driven by an agenda. Last Jedi sucked for many reasons, and the woke stuff wasn't even on my raider watching the film. The Last of Us was never great, and the last line of that game was awful. You get to some emotional crescendo and they decide to spot some bullshit pointless lore shit about The Fireflies.True Detective s4 is actually telling a spinning a decent mystery, and it isn't forcing subversion. What made True Detective good, is still operating within the show. Although, the music drop at the end of ep2 was a miscalculation. At this rate, it will top s2.

I agree. The most cringe shit about this season so far is the music. Music at the end of second episode was a terrible choice. Music department lacking. I dig it until episode 5, then it falls apart. The potential of that season is huge. The highs were the highest the show has seen, but they fumble it. Vince, the cult stuff, and the bike cop was all S tier. Ray for me, was a bit silly. Farrell didn't fit for me as this guy, and at times the writing for that character was beyond his reach as an actor. I didn't buy the slapdash romance at the end and all that stuff was rushed. It's a shame because the characters that worked really worked, and the mystery itself was interesting. Maybe someone could edit the season into a tigher thing. They completely drop the bike cop, and he much more interesting than the Ray.

For me, this is where s1 dipped. They established Rust had worked on serious projects before being paired up with Marty, and the detail about his undercover work gave the sense that the character had mysterious hardships. Then in episode 4, what are the chances Rust has to go back to the bike gang to solve his current case? I hated that you got insight into details that were more interesting as an unknown. The move took away from the mystique of Rust while also seeming a bit ludricrous as a plot point. The last scene didn't blow me away either, at the time I was watching a lot of 90s music video directors, and people like Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry did it better. It felt a handjob to the director rather than anything that improved the storytelling.

This being branded as True Detective is the work of suited corpoBlack folk not some woman. This got me rewatching season 1 and 2 at least. So there's that. Season 1 is kino bromance shit. The actual solving of the mystery was a little more underwhelming than I had in my mind. I didn't really rate season 2 when it came out. I've just finished episode 6. Season 2 is some dark fricking shit man. I am loving it way more now than i was the first time i watched it.
I've watched the first two episodes of season 4. I am not convinced yet. In terms of production and star power they've certainly downgraded. Navarro, leah and Prior junior are putting in unconvincing performances. There's only 6 episodes here. We still don't know what makes our leads Navarro and Danvers tick. Up to this point it's only been surface level shit. Where are the environmental shots of the landscape. We haven't gotten those epic shots of Alaska yet like that Kino desolate Louisiana feel or that morbid LA is a shithole feel.

I was going to watch just for Jodie Foster but literally single one of the rest of the characters is insufferable and ugly. It´s almost impossible to care for them. Seriously.

I mean, the drunk fat woman is a waste of space, the lesbian daughter that goes around fricking underage girls is a waste of space, the autist is a waste of space, the other detective that has a pathological need to dominate men is an unlikable c**t. She would not come on as insufferable if she only had a problem with men that are aggressive towards women but she even rapes that inoffensive beta guy (who is also a waste of space). I guess the Leon S. Kennedy clone and his wife are alright but damn...

I reckon the setting and the Lynch like elements are interesting though. The noir genre really benefits from the night...

Some morons are trying to act like its hypocrisy for "the left" to think rape is bad but that this show has a woman ride a dude and refuse to let him pull out so that's equal to literal rape.

She didn´t let him pull out when he clearly wanted to. That´s a non consensual sexual act. She even held him down through the use of physical force and doubled down to assert dominance over his will. Unlike a man eyeing a woman at the gym that actually constitutes literal rape.

When put together with her career choice and her unusual personal interest on the case of the activist one can conclude she has the pathological need for control. Specifically over males. She´s probably experienced abuse herself and feels identified (otherwise she would care that deeply) and it´s not unusual for victims of abuse to turn into abusers themselves.

Again, you can justify her attitude towards the woman beater but the other guy has a sponge bob toothbrush. One could even presume she choose him because she is a weakling that would not be able to resist her if he wanted to. I have no proof but that could certainly constitute premeditation.

If there is any blackwash of the protagonist or a blaq on the poster, then you pretty much know it's shit.
    Pass.
I did watch season one True Detective and holy shit.
    Cinemaphile did not fricking lie.
    That shit was kino.
Just not interested in season 2 or 3, didn't see any hype on Cinemaphile for it.
    Are they any good?

3 is good. Dementia-kino for sure. Probably the best writting pizzalatte did. Season 1 had the better all around talent.
