I tried rewatching that show recently since episodes surfaced on youtube and honestly it was kinda creepy. I didn't notice it as a kid. Especially the villain girl is creepy with her unpleasant voice and purple hair and teal eyebrows.

I rewatched and I can't believe how many times the Care Bears solve their problems with violence.

Care Bears were introduced to the world in Cleveland during the early 80s. I was there at the time, and you couldn't throw a rock in the city without hitting a poster for them. I quickly started to despise the whole franchise, and for years held them up as an example of corporate shilling.

I guess time changes all things, though, because lately I've found a new appreciation for them. Probably wearing my nostalgia goggles, I guess.

Why the carebears failed to have a succesful reboot unlike the show that shouldn't be named?
