Wow, this sure got it wrong. Surprising, because it's directed by the makers of some Metallica thing.

Why do people still think they did it?

Because they obviously did it and have confessed to doing it and have been convicted of doing it and admitting that they would be convicted of doing it again so they could get out.

The moron literally confessed to the police multiples times. All the talk of him being coached and kept in rooms for hours and hours is pure nonsense and melodramatic conjecture.

He's a Butters tier moron who gave a false confession. The guys with three digit IQs always denied everything.

Yeah, all of the confessions were false. Of course. One of his confessions was in front of his attorney who was telling him to shut up. Johnny Depp tier nonsense.

They admitted to doing the crimes because that's required for an Alfred plea. The state wants you out of the system so you stop appealing, but they don't want you have legal standing to pursue civil actions against law enforcement agencies. The Alfred plea serves both. You confess guilt, the state lets you out on time served. It's a shitty deal, but it gets you out of prison.

In a high profile case, law enforcement us under a lot of pressure to arrest and charge. Even when there is little evidence to link anybody to the crimes. When that happens, you find people who aren't wealthy enough to retain good lawyers. Then arrest them. Then investigate further in the hopes that you can somehow make the charges stick while they are in jail. The prosecutor works to secure them under a high bond to keep them jail while enforcement works to legitimize the charges with new evidence.

The "new evidence" is really sketchy. It's pretty much just lack of DNA evidence. How does it exonerate them that the samples cops took from the victim's underwear 20 years ago didn't have their DNA on it?
Feels like the court just wanted to get rid of this case.

the little dna evidence they did have only leaned them more towards guilty.

It's so fricked up for these parents to have to watch these stupid fricking celebrities free the murderers of their children.

to add insult to injury the dramatised movie portrays the father of that article as likely being the culprit

    >out of context case files info make the docs look like they're hiding their guilt (also complex Satanists hollywood conspiracy)
    >reading ALL of the cases files and not just cherry picked details still missing context proves they're innocent
