I love it myself but can't think of another film where the protagonist disappears and is replaced by someone else half way through, which is probably why a lot of people hate it, as it's impossilble to faithfully adapt a 400+ page novel into a 2 hour film and keep all the characters like FFC tried to do.
Brides of Dracula if that counts. If not, probably Hammer '58 or Herzog's Nosferatu remake.
Nah, it looks beautiful but nearly everything else stinks. The whole Dracula_X_Mina_FORBIDDEN_ROMANCE thing is fucking retarded.
Was pretty disappointing.
Maybe this will be fun?
I'm excited about Eggers' new movie as well
That Kickstarter one with Doug Jones is also dropping next year. Everyone assumed it was canned after years of radio silence but they showed a trailer of it at Monsterpalooza a few months ago.
This is really the only correct answer. Yeah Keanu and Winona Ryder were fucking awful in it but holy shit everything else was just so good.
It's good but feels weird having Keanu as the protagonist for the first act before being replaced by Anthony Hopkins
Yeah but aren’t we glad he was replaced? The movie would have suffered if he stayed in the spotlight the WHOLE fuckin time.

Place beyond the pines
till this the day, probably the only one I've enjoyed.
Yeep.
The gay love story shit they added in ruined it for me. Good visuals, though.

>Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Holy shit, did based Eggers dump his waifu the VVitch for getting bogged?
>Aaron Taylor-Johnson
meant Lily-Rose Depp
Nosferatu
I hope you mean the 79 version and not the larp pick
I meant the 1922 unauthorized adaptation that Bram Stoker's wife took legal action against where the judge ordered every print to be destroyed.
No, I meant the original. I am perfectly capable of enjoying a well made silent film.
herzogs nosferatu
oldman did a good job as well, but herzogs is a masterpiece. with the exception of kinskis clownish teeth
probably Mario Salieri's Dracula
>That wasn't van Hellsing laughing at me, Renfield. That was God.
Nosferatu (Murnau's more than Herzog's, but I like both), Browning's Dracula, Brides of Dracula if it counts.
The one with Gary Oldman.
/end.
>Hello, Charlie.
Hella based.
In a perfect world we would have gotten a faithful remake with Patrick Stewart as Peter Vincent.
progressed from interesting to totally unwatchable. shame
but it makes turks seethe like nothing else
looks like ben cage from the thumbnail
I'm excited about Eggers' new movie as well
Come for the horror kino.
Stay for the exemplary period piece interiors and set pieces.
>tfw no scholcy 90s adaptation of Necroscope
Necroscope has some cool ideas under a coat of nonsense. I think a good adaptation could do it a lot of favors.
