Interesting how every anon in this thread is utterly convinced their standards and demands have not changed whatsoever between when they were five and now. You're definitely the same exact person bro, definitely didn't become far more demanding, pessimistic, jaded, elitist and harder to 'trick'
>Ghostbusters 1: Great movie >Femcel Ghostbusters Remake: Bad for a million reasons under the sun, all while being so out of touch with reality it thought it was a smash.
Why can't you people just admit everything is better with unga bunga White man hero character kills bad guy (usually a shitskin or israelite analogue), and gets the White woman household appliance? If you don't like that go live in your shithole countries that don't have that culture.
Interesting how you assume that everyone is biased and that nothing changed in entertainment and in the world.
As if obscurantism/reinassance doesn't happen all the times and artistic currents and culture don't peak/spiral down all the time
I never said nothing changed. Merely that anons ITT love insisting the entire world went to shit but their own insight into the world has somehow magically not changed at all.
You are unironically too immature to see outside the confines of your own impression of the world. The world has gotten worse and more difficult, yes, but so have you.
Not true at all. There's tons of shit I enjoy that's moronic but still love because it matches up to my standards as a kid. Loved the shit out of pic related. Part of my standards as a kid though were that I wanted to watch things that were fun, not educational. Stuffing a bunch of Black folk in the forefront isn't trying to entertain me, it's trying to 'educate' me. My wants and needs film wise haven't changed at all really, ((they)) just cranked up their fundacational propaganda up to 11.
Also I was an escapist gay as a kid, so when people try to inject real world lessons and politics into anything I turn my nose up to that as well, because I'm trying to escape from that shit when I watch movies and tv
No, South Park sucks, and this episode was written to pre-empt any criticism of new episodes.
"South Park is as good as it always was! It's YOUR fault for getting OLD!"
This episode is far more universal than you imply, it is not being solely self-referential. You're also off your ass if you don't think the episode empathizes with Stan. Your take is shit
Just because the episode is "universal", does not mean the episode doesn't also refer to South Park, a show that has basically over-stayed its welcome and should've been cancelled several years ago.
>99.5% dogshit in a good year
excellent take good sir. they just don’t make ‘em like they used to. while my classmates were busy listening to Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, I was listening to Pink Floyd and the Beatles. Imagine the look on my classmates faces when I showed up to school in a beatles shirt lol they probably didn’t even know who they were
It's hilarious how it flies over anon's heads that there might be something wrong with Stan's interpretation of the world if someone says anything no matter how inoffensive or simple and he just hears nothing but poop.
it really is hilarious lol what an IDIOT!!! sometimes the writers will put in subtle references or concepts like that which most viewers miss, but I always catch them.

No need to act like that, anon. Just think it's interesting how a character is literally portrayed as a schizo IRL who's seeing feces being splattered everywhere but everyone somehow thinks this means the writers are agreeing with him.

did you never watch the rest of the episode moron?

I did. If you think the message of the movie is just that Stan is 100% right and everything magically goes to shit the exact same moment in a man's life, you missed a part of the point.

Going by the posts usually made in these kinds of threads, yes people do seem to misinterpret this episode and consider it a confirmation of their beliefs that they've stayed the same while the world has gotten worse.
At the time everyone thought this might be the last episode. Their legacy would have been a lot stronger if they ended on this and moved on to other things but then they would have missed out on a few hundred million dollars and Matt and Trey have turned into the Hollywood israelites they used to mock so it was never gonna happen.
Not really, I get a chill and a warm feeling from watching Kenobi, but I'm also disappointed with it. The truth is a lot of things are just plummeting in quality and another point is how the more things you experience, the more a bar of quality is raised and you begin to recognize the elements of storytelling, making it harder to impress and surprise you.
I only think certain things are shit. If anything I find nature and human interaction more magical than I ever have. It's mostly media and politics that has gotten really really really bad.
>I only think certain things are shit. If anything I find nature and human interaction more magical than I ever have. It's mostly media and politics that has gotten really really really bad.
Yeah bro, I got some great strawberries at the store and they were so tasty.
You mean life is getting better? Imagine wanting to be a child again because "life was carefree", and chain themselves to the person they were growing up. I used to feel that way bros but that hard fact is you are keeping yourselves back. The world is your playground. Godspeed anons you're in the prime of your life even if you dont realize it yet
Once people hit 30 or so they are set in their ways forever and they start bragging about how old they are as if it's an accomplishment. Very boomer-like.
>Yea actually I do.
Being near middle-aged doesn't make you less of a homosexual bro.

Being middle aged and not being able to sustain yourself makes you more of a homosexual than him lol. Don't forget to do the dishes before mommy gets upset again. She's trying so hard to keep you both afloat. The least you could do is clean up after yourself.

>Being middle aged and not being able to sustain yourself
Literally just making shit up to cope with being a loser homosexual.
He knows what he's talking about, anon. You can do anything you want when you're an adult. He's probably taking a break from working toward that very goal. It doesn't take long to come on here and fart something into the wind. Anyway, look at your childhood heroes, who were they? What did they do? You can do it too! Nothing is stopping you. You are an adult.
>The media slop my corporate masters dump into the cultural trough isn't as tasty as it used to be, woe is me
This episode was always horribly conceited and annoying
Life only got better for me the older I got. Being smarter and knowing more things leaves more room for things going wrong, yes, but it also allows you to see the world in such a more mature and fulfilling way. It's like I could only see in 2D when I was a toddler but now I can see in 3D, and just this ability is something I've very grateful for. All the doomposting about how everything got worse just makes me think anons here need to stop being addicted to anger and outrage, it's not productive and you won't live a better lief.
Yes they have gotten worse for you. Your view is a bit myopic. And I'm not the guy you responded to by the way. Also I do agree with you that life got better with aging. But things are seriously fricked up and such a downgrade from how people used to live it's horrifying. Nobody wanted to listen whenever we were getting our last chances.
>Yes they have gotten worse for you
Not for me. > things are seriously fricked up and such a downgrade from how people used to live it's horrifying
Like what?
The world is going to hell but I like working better than any point of my education. At least I get paid to be miserable rather than having to pay to be miserable. I also get some enjoyment out of mainstream movies, books, games.
>man they just don’t make ‘em like they used to
he's literally me
Who isn't?
why another thread about this episode? it's about 12 seasons after south park stopped being funny anyway.
Interesting how every anon in this thread is utterly convinced their standards and demands have not changed whatsoever between when they were five and now. You're definitely the same exact person bro, definitely didn't become far more demanding, pessimistic, jaded, elitist and harder to 'trick'

I dunno, I still love Masters of the Universe. Maybe I'm just gay for Dolph Lundgren and genuinely appreciate Frank Langella hamming it up, though.
The novelty of South Park wore off after the first episode. Am I cool yet guys?
>first episode
>not the shorts
lmao fricking normalgays I swear to god
>he didn't get bored and shut it off after 30 seconds of the first episode
Fricking pleb.

I agree, Trey and Matt have made that very clear.
However it's difficult to argue that it also expresses how many people feel about new media which is 99.5% dogshit in a good year
But do 10 year olds really think Adam Sandler movies look funny?

whoosh’d
it wore off after their unfunny bullshit movie and it's not even an unpopular opinion, everyone thinks that besides morons like you
At the time everyone thought this might be the last episode. Their legacy would have been a lot stronger if they ended on this and moved on to other things but then they would have missed out on a few hundred million dollars and Matt and Trey have turned into the Hollywood israelites they used to mock so it was never gonna happen.
then why do you keep making South Park threads?
Did Matt and Trey have less involvement in the later seasons or did they just lose it?
Not really, I get a chill and a warm feeling from watching Kenobi, but I'm also disappointed with it. You're the one who lives with their parents.
I meant that I'm 30 and you don't have to act like you're some special wise unicorn for being 34
Yea actually I do.

he's still on Cinemaphile so he's a failure
I'd be depressed too if my metric for success was what website I used, and then continued to use the one site that makes me a failure.

I crossed the bridge. The third decade is now closer than the second. Will it be my last?

So today is national sex day apparently, gonna be a 29 year old virgin.
this should have been the final episode

Things have objectively gotten much worse, and will continue for the foreseeable future. Not to disagree with your ultimate point
Not for me.

Its the opposite for me in many ways, I was a lot more bitter in my late childhood/teens than I am now.
Same. Loving life.
