            Achilles' son's wrathfulness was frowned upon even by the Greeks, who worshipped Achilles for his one-man massacre. Romans of course loved Aeneas because they managed to link themselves to him as descendants, and medieval Christcucks latched onto Hector because the only character that even comes close to the concept of Christian chivalry, they even went so far as to include him as one of the few pagans admitted into Heaven. Of course both of these groups disliked Achilles, for obvious reasons.

                It's a myth that it was ever widely accepted. Homosexuality wasn't a taboo subject for the Greeks of Socrates' time, but the legality and prevalence varied. There's also the issue of corrupted information, such as when Athenians refer to homosexuality being widespread among Spartans, their rivals at the time, which was likely just propoganda or at least shittalking. There were also Greek plays that depicted homosexual relationships, though how controversial these were is still a mystery. One such play is about Achilles and Patroclus being homosexual together, which is why that's another common misconception from "ancient sources" even though the play was written hundreds of years after Homer's death and there's no indication of homosexuality in Homer. It would be like people 2000 years from now believing that Shakespeare was down with homos and Henry V and Falstaff are gay lovers because of a weird fanficition written in 2023

          But in his inner tent, an ampler space,
          Achilles slept; and in his warm embrace
          Fair Diomede of the Lesbian race.
          Last, for Patroclus was the couch prepared,
          Whose nightly joys the beauteous Iphis shared;
          Achilles to his friend consign’d her charms

              Based on historical events as in "There was a city called Troy, and they had conflicts with cities states in Greece". It's likely it was never one "Trojan War", but just a series of smaller conflicts over a long time. Everything else is fiction.

              While we're at it the Sea Peoples were 100% the Greeks. It's too much of a coincidence that there were two separate instances of characters referring to long voyages to Egypt for raiding campaigns (Menelaus and then Odysseus' fake life story when disguised). After the Greeks sacked Wilusa and the Western Anatolian coast they no doubt would've worked their way down the Hittite coastal settlements in Anatolia and then Canaan and Egypt.

        Apollo? Athena gave Hector the courage by making him think that a friend was beside him or was it a goddess? In any way, Athena tricked Hector by giving him false hope and courage.
