There’s a recast underway. Weird as it sounds I think the legacy of this film hinges on the next Joker. Solid Batman film absolutely but now this is the stage where this character will only be as interesting as its villain.
Yeah. Not sure how I feel about more Batman movies. Ideally, in my opinion, would just be drop Batman and come back in like 20 years to reboot. This movie is fine on its own even without the suggested sequels in it.

Agreed. I liked how Pattison didn't really have all of the cool gadgets yet, and he still doesn't really know what he's doing. He also captured the madness of Bruce Wayne, which many of the other genres have largely avoided. Only thing that didn't work was their take on Alfred.

I didn't like it. It was too long, sucked the fun out of the Batman character and takes itself way too seriously. There was something really cringeworthy about how lame Pattinson looked when he wasn't in an action scene.
Or just have the scene make him intimidating. Let him appear in private or from the shadows. Having him walk up to gangs and strolling populated crime scenes looks moronic. He's just an emo in a costume.

No it isn't. Is it better than most comic conveyor belt slop? Sure, I can say that much. You can tell care, craft and patience went into it as a whole. Problem lies with like 70% of everything else. Structure is dogshit, pacing is dogshit, catwoman is cringe, riddler was like an SNL sketch bad guy.. and even though I like Pattinson as an actor generally I was never able to buy him as Batman. Mind, you I tried really hard the entire time but it comes off as a high school senior playing dress up. He looks too boyish and his frame is laughable in the suit. Nevermind the movie being 40 minutes longer than it had any business being. I actually prefer long movies but the final hour was a slog and I actually dozed off for like 10 minutes in the theatre. I dozed off in a fricking Batman movie. These words should never have to leave anyone's mouth.
The opening scene and the jumpsuit are the kinoest kino in kino history. But other than that the movie itself was pretty meh. Catwoman was kind of ugly and it had the standard woke crap for 2022 movies.

penguin, mr freeze, killer croc and probably more I don't know fit the ending of batman 1 a lot better than the cut scene of joker. I like to think they cut it because they didn't want to spend too much time on him and the scene in 1 was just a little easter egg and nothing more
