Gen alpha doesn't exist. Generations used to be counted via major events that completely shifted the zeitgeist. But now people are trying to count generations in clean 15 year intervals. They're so eager to define the next generation, that they literally just chose an arbitrary year.
Fact of the matter is: GenZ is still going. The kids being born today, are under the same cultural zeitgeist as the kids born 20 years ago.
Perhaps one can argue that the pendemic created a division. But we have yet to see the results of that event, so it's too early to call. We won't truly know when a generation started until we look at it in retrospect.
The release of the iPad, the ultimate parenting tool, is the major event. I work with young children and I’m fairly certain the iPad has given an entire generation severe attachment disorder.
