its not a good show. it just was better than everything else at the time, had its own distinct voice and bunch of hot actors. over arching plot is always garbage but there is going to be at least a handful of eps you will love

Honestly, i dont think watching it new now does it any favors. I dont think it translates to modern times at all. It was born in a time when you had NBC, FOX, and ABC terrestrial channels on your TV. As in, literal rabbit ears on your TV and then sent you programming through the air waves. So when a TV show on the WB (which was grainy as frick because they were low budget) came on and it had vampire with teen breasts you just watched.
Then memories formed around watching the show in your living room with the rest of your family in Des Moines Iowa and your dad would b***h about how gay and stupid it as but you would stick with it. then the house phone would ring and you would have to go get it but, you couldnt go too far as it had a curly line attached and then you would go draw into your 5star binder and then jack it to play boy.
It was a by gone era.

The first 3 seasons are good, at season 4 the series fell in love with the smell of its own shit and became super melodramatic. Half the cast leaving didn't help matters.

Most tv is cringe as frick. I think the only show on tv with minimal cringe is law and order svu. At least until the newer seasons where they started pushing more globohomosexual shit like benson’s bisexual son. I used to watch buffy before sxhool every day when I was in hs I think it was on FX I didn’t get cable till middle school so I never saw it prime time.

It is cringe, but in funny way. On serious note, it manages to be coming of age story and horror show and parody of both things at same time.
