It's honestly a decent drama with good characters, it's just a little schmaltzy. But for people who talk about it being evangelical, God gets mentioned twice the entire movie, both times by the MC saying the "God's children are not for sale" line. Honestly if this movie released 10 years ago it would have been seen as half decent oscar bait. The only thing even vaguely political about this movie is that it unintentionally roasts open boarders by talking about how easy it is to traffick children from Mexico to the US (and shows hordes of people sitting at the boarder trying to get in).
