Lawrence Olivier
Battle of Britain, Spartacus, Marathon Man.
wasn't this guy in bird box?
>good or memorable
>bird box
>netshits
Hopkins, only been in 3 good movies. The rest of his filmography is quite forgettable
malkovich is obviously a great actor but that accent in rounders as BRU-TAL
silence of the lambs, remains of the day, the elephant man... and yeah a big drop off with tons of bad films
sounds more african than russian
Not entirely wrong regarding Hopkins. I love those 3 performances though so I let it slide.
>and yeah a big drop off with tons of bad films
It's pretty much the same for most actors of his generation, who are staged trained and older - there's not many scripts they can shine in. Mot of the crap Hollywood pump out now is a waste of acting talent - Hopkins probably made more from his MCU role than most of his movies, but they didn't need a great actor for that. In fact, they kind of messed up, Hopkins out-acted all of them in Dark World, without even trying. They probably forced him to tone it WAY down after that, because he's a completely different character after that.
Most of the blame is scripts. Hollywood doesn't make movies like Remains Of The Day, or Howard's End, or The Bounty anymore. What are they going to put him in, where he's at his best? But even in a goofy movie like Road to Welleville, or Westworld, he takes over the screen because he's so good compared to everyone else on the stage.
He had a hell of a run. It's just a shame an actor like him is completely wasted on modern Hollywood. You can say the same for a LOT of actors. "Hey, just get in on the easy MCU cash, dude!"
waltuh
Put your dick away waltuh, im not having sex with your right now waltuh
What a loser, imagine Being him hahahhaha
In the Line of Fire was good.
These.
He played a good guy in the man in the iron mask.
>He played a good guy in the man in the iron mask.
have to check it out then.
He's really good in this but it's ridiculous he got an Oscar nomination and Val Kilmer did not in the same year for Tombstone.
Tombstone sucks and Val Kilmer is whatever in it
Tombstone is an entertaining movie, but it's not that good.
Being John Malkovich and Burn After Reading were both memorable at the very least.
Yeah memorable for being SHIT
both have positive critical and audience ratings
You got shit taste
Memorable for Maxine mogging Cameron Diaz
BAR is great and you can suck my entire wiener
>having an unpopular opinion is edgy
Self lobotomy. Now!

Thunderbirds, Black person.
Screw you guy, Man ij the iron mask was sweet
Con Air is fricking great.
You aren't serious are you?
That Australian who played the human hybrid terminator, can’t even remember his name. Was cast in everything for 2 years then fell of the face of the earth
you mean the avatar guy? you're about to see a lot more of him
>has never been in anything good or memorable
you may not find it good, but 'being john malkovich' is pretty memorable imo
The only reason he was in "Being John Malkovitch" was because hes the titular man. No other reason. Utterly replaceable.
no haf measures walter
Nic Cage
Wrong. Con-air, The Rock, Mandy, Pig, 8mm and many more great movies.
He's dreadful. Surprised you didn't list Bad Lieutenant as well to complete your reddit bingo.
>Con-Air
Terrible schlock with every meme actor in Hollywood seeing who can act the worst
>The Rock
Compare Ed Harris's commanding, believable, professional performance to Cage's clownshow. He should be ashamed to share the same cast list.
Not even going to go further.
He's trash.
>Con-Air
>Terrible
must suck hating fun
>reddit runs my thoughts and interests, the comment
Imagine coming here on Cinemaphile to 'splain to us that liking Kino Air is "reddit".
Please go away.
Most often there good despite Nic, not because of
Lord of War is him at his best, with the only Leaving Las Vegas being better
>Con-air
was this film meant to be awful, was it a parody?
It's deliberately over the top but I wouldn't call it a parody. It just knows what it is and is willing to just be fun instead if taking itself seriously.
>cyrus the virus they say hes killed more men than cancer!
I remember whenever this line came up my friend would start laughing at how corny that movie was we loved it.
Face/Off
K to the I to the N to the O
Wild at Heart
Mandy
Leaving Las Vegas
Matchstick Men. You autists always leave it out, because you never saw it. Also,
Valley Girl
Birdy
Raising Arizona
He has one of the most impressive filmographies of any actor, though he has many bad movies too.
Mandy, Color out of space, Bad lieutenant, 8 mm, Pig, Lord of war, The rock, Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing out the dead, Matchstick men,...
Cage has a really impressive amount of great films. He has a lot of shit too, but having Face Off, Bad Liutenant, Raising Arizona, Adaptation, Con Air, Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing out the Dead and Wild at Heart alone makes for a great filmography.
>has never been in anything good or memorable
Oh, he will be. Just wait and see
Damn... I unironically wanna watch it...
It's just some preachy global warming shit
How do you know, moron?
>has never been in anything good or memorable
Wrong
Con-Air was fun to watch. He seems to always play the bad guy. He should branch out and play the good guy. Been watching "The Old Guy" and it's good to see Jeff Bridges play a glowie.
Of Mice and Men was 100% memorable
so was Heart Of Darkness
I liked him in the RED movies.
First one was good.
He plays a good guy in RED too.
Never understood why Red didn't do better, stellar cast, solid script, good direction. Fun movie, all around. Red 2 was a bit wobbly, but still very watchable.
Given how much he is talked about, he literally hasn't been in a single relevant movie
He was in American gangster a little bit
Hobbs and Shaw. He’s good in Luther and Beasts of Nation. He must have a shit agent which is why he’s not in bigger movies considering his popularity
The guy who played Porkins once said Malkovich is “so right wing you think he’s joking”
he was great in the wire
i see him in a lot of porn
Unironically Turn Up Charlie is his best work outside of The Wire, but the idiots at shitflix cancelled it
Ghost Rider
I've seen one incredibly predictable and shitty movie, but I remember him being the best about it
It was about two plane crash survivors getting into an affair with each other
Clooney is the most fraudulent movie star I’ve ever seen. He’s got 3-4 good performances and then nothing but irrelevant shit where he plays the same character over and over
Pretty small part as the narrator but very memorable and the movie is the greatest survival movie I have seen.
Also, 'Color Me Kubrick', althought I don't know if that is a memorable movie but great performance.
He was the only good part of Bird Box and also great in Burn After Reading, where he essentially played the same character.
he's just so enjoyable when he's calling other people morons while playing a slightly more clever moron
also season 2 was the great filter
>Con Air
>not good
homosexual
>zoomer queers don't remember dangerous liaisons
sad!
whose the dude hes talkin to
>has never been in anything good or memorable
homie,, he was a Cyrus the damn virus
He is well known enough, isn't he? i mean, i don't know his name from the top of my head, but people know him when they see him.
For real, that might be the best outcome an actor can have; close, but away enough from the spotlight.
stfu homosexual
Recognizable face.
> what is Being John Malkovich?
ITS MY HEAAAAAAAD!!!!!!
He was in Johny English:
>Johnny English villain
I think you are wrong
ENTER
>5th Element
>not good or memorable
actually i just opened a reply box to say fifth element wasnt that good. luckily, you posted so ive got someone to reply to.
>people don't remember Harry Potter or Dracula
Gary Oldman is a meme at this point but he's been in a lot of good stuff
Oldman has a stellar career, only autists here hate him, because they hate everything.
>Leon: The Professional
>5th Element
>bloody Harry Potter
>fricking Kung Fu Panda 2 while we're at it
Nah, Gary has enough shit he's known for
If they offer you $20 million to do Harry Fricking Potter, you take it. That's third mansion money.
isn't that tom cruise
>inb4 top cringe
How can you ... NOT ... have mentioned ... ME yet?
Nic Cage is a good actor
>low-quality b8
rounders is good
He's a worse JK Simmons
JK Simmons Is a nobody that had one memorable (minor) role in capeshit and one good performance in whiplash.
>Muh prison show about gayBlack folk
Nobody cares about Oz outside of the US.
>one memorable role
that's one more than Malkovich
Malkovich is a nobody too, but has more good movies and is a better actor.
But nobody cares about anyone or anything outside of the US either.
for JKinoS I recommend "Counterpart" and "Night Sky".
Nothing but meme roles in overrated movies.
there isn't a single person in the world that doesn't like at least 1 Jack Nicholson kino
The only one that comes to mind is Mars Attacks
Bullshit. Chinatown is one of the best movies ever made. He is in plenty of other memorable films too. I still replied like an idiot though.
Weak bait. He had some stinkers later on, but most of his resume are now classics. Him and Paul Newman, you can watch pretty much anything they did before the 80's, and it'll be a great movie.
basically anything after About Schmidt, Jack isn't trying to act, but he already had one foot out the acting door anyway
He had some stinkers before that, Woman Trouble and Ironweed were total bombs. I think he was just bored from the 80's on. He'd done it all. He had more money than he needed, and fricked everyone he wanted to frick. I think The Departed - as flawed as it is, was his goodbye to acting, he actually seemed to put effort into it.
Jack definitely had some lulls in his career (mid 80's, mid 90's) that he was able to bounce back from once he started to give a shit again. As for The Departed, meh I guess he's fine in it but I would agree that's his goodbye to acting.
Being John Malkovich is one of the best comedies ever written.
Not reading any posts in this thread. Just stopping by to laugh at you.
dangerous liaisons
b***h please
>Pay the man. Pay him his mah-knee.
Tom Cruise
>>has never been in anything good or memorable

Way to out yourself, pleb.
He’s in lots of things. That israeliteel thief movie, for example. He’s very well respected
now here's someone who has never been in or done anything good at all and i know no one who actually likes him either. I think i win Cinemaphile
some yutz is going to pretend gavin and stacey was good so let me preempt them by telling them they're wrong and it was shit
Burt Mustin
Con Air is one of the best movies ever made
Name a more ignorant underage poster on the internet than OP

He was great in that movie where he played that israeliteel thief.
Hr was really great in that movie where he played that moron. My cousin is a moron so it means a lot to me to see morons portrayed on the silver screen so compassionately
