I don't really understand the thread. Are you asking for shows that take place during those decades, or shows that aired during those decades?

He probably means series that will be remembered in 50 years

The decade-defining show for 2010s is Game of Thrones. It remains to be seen what the biggest show of 2020s will be.

    >The Simpsons
    >season 1 - 12

Have a group of actual animators that draw the characters and bring them to life. Heart and soul is put into it

    >The Simpsons
    >season 20 and on

Fire most of the animators and hire 2 computer graphics designers that have no real idea of animation and make the entire town of Springfield lifeless robots. No human emotion put into whatsoever, they just want to get their paycheck and leave

Yes. It was. Just because Simpsons merch exists doesn't mean Seinfeld wasn't a much bigger show.

          Eh, two prong he's right.
          Globally? Simpsons absolutely bigger.
Biggest peak in the 90s in the USA? Seinfeld, no debate.

In America Seinfelds peak was bigger than simpsons, however worldwide Simpsons is probably bigger.

However I couldn't give a shit how many dubbed versions of El Barto sold in Brazil, cause the show was never made for them.

More viewers doesn't mean bigger. Simpsons was and is a bigger cultural phenomenon and always has been. Seinfeld changed the TV sitcom landscape, that's it. Simpsons changed the entire fricking entertainment industry.

Doubt it, ask any yahoo on the streets and I bet you that they'll know about the Simpsons but not Seinfeld!

I mean are we talking about today or are we talking about what happened in the 90s?
Cause it isn't shocking that the zombie TV show that was never allowed to die and still gets new seasons to this day, is far more recognizable than the 90s, but OPs post was breaking up the decades, and you really had to be there in the 90s in the USA to understand the level of peak Seinfeld had in the era.

Although I really don't get at what OP is really implying, cause then he goes right into Sopranos for the 2000s, and the Office is probably the more popular overall show for normies.

I mean... Go out on the street and ask people to quote them both and then share the results. I bet you won't get many people quoting Sopranos and half of them just shout "fugeddaboutit" or "gabagool" at you.

and actually, if I had to say I think LOST is probably the defining show of the 2000s.
              >Quotes from what people are saying in 2024
So is your thread about the most quotable show of the decade?
Like Game of Thrones in 2010, LOST in the 2000s was the edge of your seat you had to be there while it was happening live kind of shit.

              Some clarification would be nice.

Be more of an important reminder if globalism was a goal of 90s television and not just an afterthought.
Meanwhile just about every product is thought of in mind with how well it's numbers are going to do in East Asia

and then Squid Games has had the highest peak in the 2020s for a TV show, but that one isn't really built on legs to be a long standing series as much as a one off everybody really got into during a global pandemic.
