It fails on every conceivable level. The music is an awful choice, 90s intros were characterized by intensely energetic songs with half an episode's animation budget crammed into 1:30. Also running. There was always a shot of the characters running across a field. Doesn't matter if the show takes place in outer space, they still had it.

Maybe they didn't want to waste 2 years of their lives animating a full opening for no monetary compensation?
But they even got the tone wrong. If they were going to just run stills from the show through a filter that's a good enough way to do it but they should have picked action stills. And a better song.
>90s inspired >makes it the most non-90s inspired shit ever
Fricking hell, zoomers truly do not do research when they're trying to make something inspired by the time period they're paying homage too. Everything about this reeks post-90s that it hurts.
I say that as a zoomer born in 2000 who spend most of his virgin life watching 80s, 90s, and 2000s anime and western cartoons.
It's just annoying when you make something based on the time period your paying homage to not being completely accurate. That would be me making a cartoon set in Hiroshima in August of 1945 and everything was peachy keen to the Japanese folk there when in reality the Enola Gay dropped the Little Boy, which BTFO'd the entire fricking city killing thousands of people.
>lo-fi beat with japanese lyrics
Wow, that's shit.
lul
I've never seen anything fail to understand the tone of the thing it's remaking so hard before.
Why not schizo?

>Homage
Let's be real, that's not what's happening, they want clicks.
>when that dopamine kicks in
>90s
>Do a more early 2000s style.
It's not like there's a hard line for this stuff. The Powerpuff Girls is a 2000s show, but most 90s kids seem to forget that
Morty mouths
90s's just means VHS static and video degridation THO
Not enough running.
