I think around the time this homosexual showed up is when I checked out of the show. It all went wrong around that time where it was this guy doing torture porn to Theon, Stannis character assassination etc. What a waste
he's the paramount sadist of the universe
and flaying is an important Bolton tradition
torturing and mindbreaking Theon is an important part of the story but unfortunately they cut this entire arc down to scraps in the show so it doesn't really work
>Bolton tradition >torturing and mindbreaking Theon is an important part of the story
To what end though? Just so Theon can finally break out of the "mind control" when he sees Sansa getting fricked? In hindsight, this whole storyline was really pointless and pornographic.
I think he should have remained a minor character. He tortures Theon, then gets back stabbed in some violent fashion because he's a piece of shit. The whole concept of him taking over and being some evil strategic genius is moronic. I don't think historically people followed uncharismatic psychopaths.
Battle of the bastards was also fricking moronic. Do redditors admit that it's shit yet? I remember when it came out they loved that goyslop >Omg it's the good guy Jon Snow and the bad guy Ramsay snow! >They are going to fight le epic battle to save Sansa! >Holy shit look at that spear formation so cool I bet that's what battles were like in historical times! >How can Jon Snow possibly win? >Omg he gets saved by Sansa I didn't think that was possible!
I think I knew the rest of the series would be dogshit when I started watching season 7. I remember season 6 being shit but thinking that maybe it was just a fluke, and the show could make a come back. Only downhill after season 5.
it was certainly the final nail in the coffin for me
I think the indicative moment the show was going off the rails was Littlefinger giving Sansa away to the Boltons for no reason
yeah that was trash
in the novels Littlefinger kidnaps Sansa's friend and trains her to masquerade as Arya, sending her to Winterfell to marry Ramsay who uses Theon to convince everyone she's really Ned's daughter while Sansa goes to the Vale pretending to be Littlefinger's bastard to marry an heir
Theon's events at Winterfell (Ramsay not appearing as "Reek" etc) made it clear they were not going to commit to adapting the source material with any great strictness and from that point the shit ideas of the TV writers started to mount exponentially, shredding to pieces the satisfying confluence of plotlines the novels are known for.
Dagmer Cleftjaw wasn't even introduced. He was just the one guy on Theon's ship who was nice to him without explanation.
You had to just know who he was.
>Was this the exact moment the whole show fell apart?
When it really went to shit was the end of season 1 not being a contrarian after reading the books and then rewatching the show the show past season 1 barely feels like they are adapting the books. It feels like a disjointed quest to have book events happen with completely different characters and whatever OC the writers could fit in. For your average viewer through I would really say Tywins death was the beginning of the end after instead of adapting AFoC and ADWD material they axed everything and went with their OC season 5 shit. Stannis burning Shireen and his death was the breaking point for a lot of people, it was so poorly received by anyone who wasn't the Burlington bar audience that even Cinemaphile had to ban /got/ threads for a whole year.
>"There are no good or evil characters. Just varying shades of gray." >"Except Ramsay, The Mountain, Euron, and any of the dozens of tertiary psychos I created."
>if Gacy is real what's so implausible about Ramsay?
Sadists like Gacy make up less than 1% of the population, and the ones who act on it make up an even smaller percent. People like GRRM love this false narrative that medieval Europeans were all psychopaths would were just lusting to murder and rape everybody. It's a very israeli and anti-white way of looking at things.
>People like GRRM love this false narrative that medieval Europeans were all psychopaths would were just lusting to murder and rape everybody. It's a very israeli and anti-white way of looking at things.
And you get that from one single character, in a book series of thousands of characters? Sounds like less than 1% to me
Actually the split goes back way farther than Aegon's conquest, as detailed in Old Nan Tales Vol. III
The split comes from House Goodmen's ancestral belief that good men, godly men, would be the saviors of the realm. Fairly early in their history, however, their cadet branch which had taken up residence at a castle called the "Goodkeep," northwest of the Dreadfort, came to believe that the Prophecy of the Goodmen actually referred only to one man, the Goodman, and not multiple good men - though some say that the Goodmens of the Goodfort were the cadet branch and the Goodmans were the original. The feud grew and grew for a thousand years, and the two branches of House Goodmen grew farther apart and more bitter towards each other. It finally culminated in the splitting of the house during Aegon's conquest, when Lord Goodmen bent the knee to Aegon. The Lord of the Goodkeep would not abide, and declared that his house was foreverafter separate from House Goodmen. Thus, House Goodman was founded, and not a fortnight later the forces of the Goodkeep and the Goodfort met and did battle beneath the snowy boughs of the Goodwood. It was said that the Goodstream ran red that day, the spilt goodblood of thousands of Goodmen and Goodman bannermen flowing out into the Shivering Sea. It is said that Lord Goodmen and Lord Goodman perished on each other's swords, cursing their foes' families for generations afterwards with their dying breaths.
They fricked this character over bad. They hyped him up to be the OP shirtless, dool welding flay master. Then he gets his ass kicked by Jon at the end with no effort. All that build-up for nothing. The battle between Jon & Fookin' Legend was so much better.
Which season did people suddenly gain the ability to travel across entire contents in in seemingly a few hours?
That’s when this turned from fantasy to capeshit to me

>female fans: cutting off penises - OK.
>same female fans: consummating marriage - The horror!
nice digits. very nice.
Witnessed
yeah i dropped it partway into season 5

He's one of the best parts of the show, smart, evil and entertaining.
Was this the exact moment the whole show fell apart?
That would be when it got picked up for season 1. That's when the fat frick stopped caring to write.
it was certainly the final nail in the coffin for me

a few points come to mind
S2E7 in my opinion and especially if you're a bookgay
otherwise the finale of season 4
what happened in episode 7?
Theon's events at Winterfell (Ramsay not appearing as "Reek" etc) made it clear they were not going to commit to adapting the source material with any great strictness and from that point the shit ideas of the TV writers started to mount exponentially, shredding to pieces the satisfying confluence of plotlines the novels are known for.

I'm not looking up that episode you artistically mentioned you homosexual.

I think the moment they changed Robb's arc into him having a generic fantasy romance the writing was on the wall.
The exact nanosecond that Tywin died
>AAAGGGHHH HELP ME FIREWOMAN, BURNING MY DAUGHTER ALIVE DIDN'T SAVE MY ARMY, AAA-
Guys, I'm starting to think Stannis might be dead.
why was he shirtless
I liked Game of Thrones, even the ending.
*suddenly 20 saul goodmans come into the room*
blame GRRM
he was literally created just to be a villain
he is comically evil for evil's sake with no nuance unlike (say)the Lannisters
>"There are no good or evil characters. Just varying shades of gray."
>"Except Ramsay, The Mountain, Euron, and any of the dozens of tertiary psychos I created."
>sadists don't actually exist
if Gacy is real what's so implausible about Ramsay?
Gacies father was a drinker and his mother cried in bed, they were folding john waynes t shirts when the swing set hit his head.
>if Gacy is real what's so implausible about Ramsay?

Grey only exists if black and white does as well
I thought he was fun in the books. GRRM struck a good balance making him both an unhinged lunatic and kinda clever.
the flayed man armor is so sick
top villain
Euron was cool but he could have been so much cooler. I want a spinoff of him being a true-to-the-book psychopath.
Euron was shit
he was a one dimensional swaggering douche instead of brutally fervent pirate schizo
he was the only one having fun
He always had a smile on his face.
He DID kill the sand snakes, so credit to him there.
BIG wiener
Fingah up tha bum
? i missed the reference
it's been a while since i saw the show
Euron asking Jaime how best to make Cersei coom
Wrong
Who would win in a fight?
>The finest murderers and cutthroats the iron isles have to offer
>Ramsey Bolton with no shirt and a few dogs
Ramsay's not even a great warrior
he's just described as having a savage and relentless style of fighting
In the books, isn't Ramsay a big evil moron? I could never take this hobbit seriously.
in the books he's midwit constantly disappointing Roose but not stupid
Ser Twenty Goodmen

Two good hip bones.
>Trant killed Syrio because Meryn had armor and a big fricking sword
>Ramsay 20 minutes later
