Moon is most definitely the superior film. That said, Oblivion's world is visually great and the sound design of Oblivion is excellent. If the movie had more original ideas, it could have been a really great movie.

I still get tripped up at the part where the movie switches between the clones
Cuz in my head there’s wrenched Sam
    >he hurts his hand fixing the ship
    and idk other Sam

That’s the only way to discern between the two
And when you realize that the movie gets even more confusing

I’ll have to watch it again

        It’s confusing
Sam pulled from the wreckage has a bandage on his hand, which would make him the initial Sam
So at some point the movie subtlety switches perspective without really giving it away

          >Kevin Spacey then activates Sam B

            >Spacey bot activates clone Sam
does this explicitly happen on screen?

I just remember being really tripped up when you notice that Sam B’s hand isn’t bandaged as the camera has been following Sam A up until that point
At least I think? Idk good movie either way

              Anonymous

Just company policy, the robot was just following its programming. When one clone expires, they thaw out another one to do more work. There was no way to rescue Sam A and they had no idea Sam B would actually stumble upon him.

shame mute was such a wet fart.

The director is David Bowie's son and he made Warcraft which was bad. Granted his wife had cancer and Bowie was also dying when he was making it but still. Not a good movie to have on his resume

          he's a hack

I rewatched Moon recently and the directing is very tv-level and anemic. The premise and Rockwell carry it hard.
Then he did that WoW movie and then Mute and both were garbage.

This is kind of a Severance situation.

The real Sam is on Earth and he just sold his DNA so clones of him can work (and die) on the Moon while he comfortably lives his life back with his family.

The only really stupid thing about this entire premise/plot is that the company did this entire thing in secret and it wasn't simply the norm everywhere. That should've been the final reveal. That it's simply the way things are everywhere and it's not some isolated secret thing going on by a shady company.

i was just about to post that it feels like severance ripped off this movie, just with a little tweak.

They wouldn't have had issues with the duplicates lasting over the technology if producing them. It's a stupid non science idea of a plot.
