I don’t think that’s how the movie works Anon
If inflation trends up like it has the last few years, that's probably a pretty shitty wage
reddit
Here's the attention your dad never gave you
it’s harder to go insane on the moon because there’s less gravity
It's actually easier. They call it moon madness. Eventually you're buck ass naked shitting all over the place demanding more moon dust
>missing the chance to call it "lunacy"
come the frick on
U N D E R R A T E D
Sounds too good to be true, which it was
Oblivion was a rip off of Moon and I'm tired of pretending it wasnt.
i haven’t finished this film
I did but I don't remember anything about it
Tom Cruise sure has been in a lot of shit to mid tier movies considering his reputation
that movie was great
I dunno, he seems to have very few true duds
But yes, that was one of them and I couldn't even finish it.
Huh? I'd argue he has one of the most consistent filmographies of any actor ever, not a ton of super high highs, but very few lows
Moon is most definitely the superior film. That said, Oblivion's world is visually great and the sound design of Oblivion is excellent. If the movie had more original ideas, it could have been a really great movie.
>That said, Oblivion's world is visually great
The apartment is kino, but it drops when they actually get on the ground.
the movie doesnt really delve into this too much but how hilarious is it that the world was overrun by an unstoppable army of unlimited tom cruises?
He never gets paid because he's a fricking clone, dumbass. When his mission is over they turn him into fertilizer.
wtf spoiled it for me!!! I hope you’re miserable...
You had 15 years to watch it, moron. Onions green is people btw.
Green onions are not people you idiot. Learn how to cook
That's not the point you wienermongler
As if my life would be drastically different if I was alone for 3 years.
this, i'd probably enjoy it more tbh senpai
Depends on the type of work and the amount of isolation. If I can get internet via spaceX I'm doing it.
I’ve spent the last 10 years in isolation for free. I don’t even get my groceries anymore, I just order them online
So you're like a hikikomori or what?
I still get tripped up at the part where the movie switches between the clones
Cuz in my head there’s wrenched Sam
>he hurts his hand fixing the ship
and idk other Sam
That’s the only way to discern between the two
And when you realize that the movie gets even more confusing
Which saw is the first one in the beginning i lost track
Idk im getting confused thinking about it
Because isn’t the one pulled from the wreckage… doesn’t he have a bandage on his hand?
I’ll have to watch it again
It’s confusing
Sam pulled from the wreckage has a bandage on his hand, which would make him the initial Sam
So at some point the movie subtlety switches perspective without really giving it away
>Sam A is in the wreck
>Kevin Spacey then activates Sam B
>Sam B rescues Sam A
>Sam A continues to kind of physically degrade for the rest of the movie
>Spacey bot activates clone Sam
does this explicitly happen on screen?
I just remember being really tripped up when you notice that Sam B’s hand isn’t bandaged as the camera has been following Sam A up until that point
At least I think? Idk good movie either way
Just company policy, the robot was just following its programming. When one clone expires, they thaw out another one to do more work. There was no way to rescue Sam A and they had no idea Sam B would actually stumble upon him.
With decent food, tv, movies and some barbells, bar and weights, sure..
criminally underrated movie, director had a lot of potential.
shame mute was such a wet fart.
The director is David Bowie's son and he made Warcraft which was bad. Granted his wife had cancer and Bowie was also dying when he was making it but still. Not a good movie to have on his resume
but he also made source code, which was pretty good.
>be David bowies son
>make a movie about being alone in space
>don't even make a as much as a subtle reference to Space Oddity in the movie
what a missed opportunity
It was a different time when everything didn't have to have easter eggs and references.
he's a hack
I rewatched Moon recently and the directing is very tv-level and anemic. The premise and Rockwell carry it hard.
Then he did that WoW movie and then Mute and both were garbage.
More like good for him for not succumbing to a moronic opportunity
>going to the moon
morons
This is kind of a Severance situation.
The real Sam is on Earth and he just sold his DNA so clones of him can work (and die) on the Moon while he comfortably lives his life back with his family.
The only really stupid thing about this entire premise/plot is that the company did this entire thing in secret and it wasn't simply the norm everywhere. That should've been the final reveal. That it's simply the way things are everywhere and it's not some isolated secret thing going on by a shady company.
i was just about to post that it feels like severance ripped off this movie, just with a little tweak.
>That it's simply the way things are everywhere
As much as I hate the govenment cloning would never get off the ground. It was a secret for a reason.
>$20 million for 3 years isolated working on the moon. Could you do this job? would you go insane like he did?
bro I've been isolated on earth for like 5 years, barely ever see or talk to anyone. 3 years on the moon with an AI buddy would be a cakewalk.
For that much money yes I could.
>for 3 years isolated
trivial
I heard the retirement benefits suck
Such a kino movie along with Source Code. Dear God Duncan Jones go back and make little indie Sci-Fi films I'm sure it fricked you up to lose your dad David FRICKING Bowie but surely you can make a comeback.
I don't think anyone would want to hire him after Mute flopped badly.
I liked Mute. Why did everyone hate it, it was kino cyber-noir.
All connection is an illusion. We are alone from birth unto death
>20 million for some peace and fricking quiet
Jesus christ i'd do it for free.
They wouldn't have had issues with the duplicates lasting over the technology if producing them. It's a stupid non science idea of a plot.
