>Peter Sohn’s latest film, “Elemental,” from Disney/Pixar, tells the story of characters made of opposite elements who fall in love. The story is a metaphor for the director/writer’s life where he stepped out of the element of his own Korean culture to marry for love and pursue a career in animation.
>I’m Korean and my wife is half-Italian, part- German and part-English. The feeling of it can sometimes be like a burden. I wonder if I am I breaking the chain in my life because I’m not pushing the Korean language and culture. And our main character, Ember, even though her culture is fictional, she’s dealing with very similar issues of trying to understand her life in a place that was not her parents’ home.
>"I fell in love with someone that wasn't Korean," he says, "I grew up in a family where they were like marry Korean. My grandmother's dying words were ... marry Korean ... there was a lot of pressure from that. But I fell in love with someone that wasn't."
God I'm tried of these asian directors and their non-problems, the only minority that have any right to complain are blacks.
How can a movie just look so ugly other than Ember.
A combination of trying to animate a whole movie using complex environmental effects while keeping it simple enough to mass produce cheap plastic merchandise, merchandise with might not even be enough save this disaster.
R.I.P. Pixar can’t wait for Disney to soon return to 2D at a certain point in time.
None of the veterans are there anymore and migrated to Skydance or retired.
There’s no way Pixar is ever going to get good again.

Unless they are both asexuals (or one is a cuckhold) I don't see this working.
Talking about racemixing in cartoons should be frowned upon.
I don't care if you're from another nation, stop trying to reverse-assimilate my people.

>I'M A KOREAN GUY WHO MARRIED A WHITE GIRL WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
goddamn I didn't think Asian hate was a major issue but I can see why now.
Are Spiderman and Optimus Primal the only ones doing ok at the moment? Its like constant flop after flop
What's the budget on the new Transformers movie? 'Cause it looks like it's gonna do worse than The Little Mermaid.
It's 200 million officially, apparently higher internally due to delays. It's another floppa

any interesting review that isn't just mindless praise neither "le sjws"?
I never noticed before, but "le sjws" could be pronounced like in French "le seh-jeh-wah" like it would probably be spelled "Le Sejeois"
Imagine being a korean ashamed of your european wife. This is like how nation of islam people think that whites are inferior.
Cinemaphile is defending white women now
