I think it will probably be a how to train your dragon situation, where the movies don't reference stuff from the show but neither the show or movie try to contradict each other. I could see the events of the second movie being worked into whatever the next season of the show is, if it comes out. That may even be the reason they turned Batty back to a dog for season 2, so it'd make sense continuity wise for her to be a dog in the second movie since obviously it'd be weird if she was suddenly able to turn into a human in the second film if she couldn't in the first.
Thinking optimistically, this could mean that if season 3 is set after the second movie, they might bring back Batty's human form that season since they no longer have to worry about matching the upcoming movie.

I still can't forgive them for that, even more with that damn tease in the midseason finale where she was turned human for like... two episodes.

A good thing about the show is that I don't recall there being a lot of unnecessary humiliation in it. There will occasionally be a plot where Freddy messes up or fails something but it's no more than most cartoon protagonists get.
