You didn't have people saying "trans women are women" in the Daily Show era. "Did you just assume my gender" and "I identify as an attack helicopter jokes" were very popular at the time.

it's cold nostalgia, not soul. I might be twice your age and I remember "soul" dropping off a cliff sometime within a few years before 2010.

The US has been on a slow steady decline since like 1920. It accelerated in the 60s and again in the 90s, and really accelerated around 2007, but we've been sliding into decadence and post capitalism for more than a century.

Personally I think 2007 was the last year when "soul" was still a thing and there was some faint glimmer of hope. That being said shit had already become pretty bleak since 2001 (you know what i'm talking about). I think the internet and more specifically social media has absolutely accelerated the social and moral decline of the West more than any other single factor. Human beings were not meant to live in a world of instant gratification and connection. The human brain isn't built to process thousands of persons opinions, as well as an endless stream of information and news and ads. We are on information overload and it's killing everything.

        >the US had been on a steady decline since 1920
The US wasn’t even at its peak power yet in 1920, the only way you can justify this statement is by appealing to someone’s sensibilities on the state of its society. Culture is still the USs #1 export, if anything they’re stronger than ever on a worldwide perspective.
        >the internet is ruining it
The internet is ruining everywhere, euros are just as susceptible to American media as Americans are. Go to a board like Cinemaphile or Cinemaphile and they all know and buy into every hyper specific dramatic news story the same way the overall population in the US does. Everyone is just looking for content that will make them content and justify their feelings of superiority, and because of the internet they’re finding it.

This isn't a reflection of the actual state of the world, it's a reflection of how pop-media viewed the world. In 2008 they believed that the battle had finally been won. Obama would usher in a new era of progress. Everyone important was excited.
Then 2016 shattered their delusions. The voters rejected their progressive utopia and elected a reality tv star president. From that point on it was no fun allowed. All resources must go to indoctrinating the population, or demoralizing those that refuse to fall in line.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, comedians like Chris Rock, David Spade and Dave Chappelle, the return of Trump in 2024, and making traditional movies/TV shows that audiences actually want (not the activists on Twitter who probably don't watch media) will save society and bring us back to 2009-2015!

At least in the early 2010s, we were recovering from the Bush Recession and had *some hope* for the future. The War on Terror was winding down after Bin Laden was killed. Nobody cared about politics because it was insignificant, our leaders at the time were boring but reliable. There were no genuine crazies in power. Pop culture was light-hearted, apolitical and fun, reflecting the bright mood of the times. And when you talked to people about "what do you think things will be like in the 2020s" people were cautious, but mostly excited to find out what would happen.

Compare that to 2023, where everything is fricked. Politics is fricked, the economy is fricked, personal freedoms are fricked, public discourse is fricked. Everyone's mentally ill, insane subcultures are being normalized, censorship is the norm, media and journalists are batshit crazy, there's literal wars raging across the globe. And nobody has any hope that things will get better. Everyone's just expecting this decade to be pain, misery, bloodshed, violence, collapse, turmoil. There is, quite literally, NO HOPE. This was not the case 10 years ago.

Soul ended around 2007 when Obama first appeared. Trust me. 90s and early 2000s was normal. Internet culture was only for the proto Cinemaphile chuds and it was perfect.
Women ruined the internet when they got iphones. Then blacks came in and ruined it more.
YouTube went to shit around 09 when copyright takedowns happened.
9/11 did more damage than people realize. Bush did the right thing to colonize the middle east but it resulted in backlash which developed into the modern liberal.

The only good thing from 2010s besides Trump was the zoomer haircut style which i do wish we had in 2000s.
Music wise it's about the same but at least 2000s wasn't obsessed with black music like today.
Also emo/goth was real back then. Now it's watered down and made cute instead of scary.
2000s you could get a whopper meal for like 5 bucks. 2010s was when the dollar menu died for good.
Also liberals weren't as annoying. Being anti war wasn't cringe because you didn't have to align with BLM, Lgbt, trannies, Hollywood. You could be against iraq war but also traditional conservative person.
Life before internet was also better. Sure we had chat rooms in 90s already but school wasnt a place you worried about social media or being recorded. It was more free.
Back then if you dressed with slim pants and v necks you'd be called a homosexual. Now it's the normal or you look like adam sandler boomers.

zoomers destroy everything they touch. used to work with a 14 year old that would never shut the frick up, hyperactive little homosexual would non-stop try and bait me with dumb shit. ignoring them physically hurts them, which is why they use outrage tactics, trump blew a fuse in american brains on both sides and zoomers saw how much it pissed everyone off. they DO NOT CARE about politics, they choose shit that will piss off the most people to farm reactions and attention. Boomer groomers will chase them for two reasons, 1. Pedos love kids, 2. They're perfect mouthpieces for nazi shit that actual boomers are too pussy to say, because they're more than willing to say ANYTHING for attention.
Don't forget they were neglected by millennial parents, they ALL have ADHD and probably a flavour of autism from all the junk food their parents fed them.
Some anon said we should focus our attention ok the next generation and ignore zoomers as statistically they are asexual (ADHD fricking FRIED them) and will not reproduce, which is probably the only option at this point.

See what I mean? These might as well be fricking bot posts. They provide nothing and only serve as an attempt to tilt.
It's the default setting of a child to poke shit until it breaks or bites back, only their parents never slapped them for shit so they don't know how to stop.
Imagine an entire generation that avoided being physically disciplined, they feel untouchable, no ramifications for their actions.
Only... there are ramifications, like ignoring them. It's the only punishment they understand because it's built into social media, the block button.
So now when they poke something and it gets a little scary, they just push the "SAFE SPACE" button and run.
