This. I'm so fricking sick of vikingshit in flicks and vidya(especially) recently, cant wait for the fricking trend to die, absolutely dogshit, boring setting
I forgot this shit as soon as I got home from the theater, this movie just lacks something to the core

this movie scared them more than that korean movie where poor people kill rich people. the idea you could steal a guys birthright and he would come back decades later only to slaughter you on top of a volcano must be terrifying to certain people
This was the only Viking movie to date which came close to capturing the weirdness and feel of the setting and which payed more attention to having somewhat archeologically-based props and costumes instead of just totally falling back on pop culture bullshit.
Unfortunately it was badly lacking in plot, character development and even action. It basically has a few cool Norse-themed tableaus that don't really come together as a compelling film. Also it still managed to fall back into a bit of dung ages grey filter shite.
Its a really barebones version of Hamlet based on the Saxo Grammaticus prototype without the title character having any real introspection to make it interesting
>it's based on le epic norse tale
that's like saying the shit i took last night was based on a work of great literature because i was reading on the toilet. fricking conan the barbarian had better writing.
One of the best films of 2022. Eggers has had a solid filmography so far.
Very interesting that both SJWs and 'normal' people get so mad about this film.
I saw this with a girl on a date and after the movie ended she spoke for 20 minutes about how much she was opposed to race mixing (bookended by her claiming that she wasn't racist).
I thought the movie was pretty mid, t b h. Is it true much of the movie was cut and reshot?
Released far too late after the zenith of Viking Kangz media furor for anyone to care. Had it been released in like when everyone was cumming in their pants over Vikings, the Last Kingdom and GoT it would have utterly killed in the box office.
Overall, it was a good film but a bit bland. The trailers were purposefully misleading and made people think it was going to be an action packed "HBO historical realism" epic, when in reality it was a slow burn "make you understand how alien the past was from our own values" drama with a bit of action.
Who?
Vikings are cringe and boring

While I still haven't bought a copy, I think it is good

Can't be forgotten if no one has seen it
>markets itself with historical realism
>norse armor is the typical pop viking garbage
What the frick should it have looked like?
>eggman movie
>realism
Nobody can help you if you’re that moronic.
The VVitch and The Lighthouse were much praised for his autistic attention to depict those cultures accurately.
Such is the fate of all the slop shat out by Reddit Eggers. Cinemaphile will still happily hype his next serving of slop

The Northman is a litmus test as to how white you are.

We need the italian version the SOUTHMAN.
Romans invaded snowBlack folk land and teach them jow to pay taxs
Well, I guess it fits.
The Northman is easily better than Scott's hackery, btw.
it's sitting right in front of me on my little desk shelf where i keep all my blu-rays
