Her last ongoing, that shitty webcomic, she was made "aerosexual" or something like that, same as the author of the comic. Any character that gets forcefully placed under one of the gay flags of the author, gets sent into the shadow realm of the fandom.
Never going to happen. Twitter is the law of the land, and Twitter is always right. I honestly hope that Elon privatizes Twitter and makes it a pay for service just so it can go under. Sucks that I'll lose the AI porn though.
this could actually work as a meta storyline. either as a bunch of gwen variants or as some kind of multiple personality disorder thing where she discovers that her mood swings/personality shifts are because of changing writers
This line of thinking is why manga outsells comics. Corpos think "franchises" gives them unlimited tries when all it does is muddy the waters for non fans.
I still wish we got a campy extended cast xmen book with her as one of the recurring characters. Like being the security guard at X-Corp, not super action security guard but using gutterspace to teleport around telling people to stop loitering.
every time she's come back I just think of the ending of her original run where she gets depressed because she's not going to be the same person she is now under future writers.
She had a pretty defined personality as being this spacy, cheerful nerd with a delusional streak but a sweet underlying core, and in every run after the fact she's been more like... I dunno. A youtube influencer? A self-insert? None of her appearances have been her. I don't even find it that hard to believe she's asexual, but the fact that the coming out book is played completely, 1000% straight in the most eye-rolling sort of way without even a single joke about her being in a kind of hackneyed pride month comic- it just sucks.
It really does make the ending of Unbelievable hit harder with each passing year when you're made to learn that every single fear Gwen had in the last issue of that run was completely realized.
I've never read Gwenpool before, but this makes me sad. I've also seen the page(s) where she asks Deadpool to take care of her dog once her comic is over, and that made me sad, too.
for me, the scene where she cries about her supporting cast being forgotten hits the hardest. i think ronnie is the only one that managed to make it out of being forgotten entirely, and even then only one creator used her.
>cecil is the most important character to contribute to gwen's arc of learning to give a shit about fake people >he never shows up a-fricking-gain
i dont think hes even been mentioned in any run after unbelievable. thanks marvel.
the batroc scene actually made me tear up a bit reading it, very sad in hindsight that she was right that he was bascically never written this way again
and what do her writers do after this?
pair her up with quentin fricking quire. the least likable xmen character there is.
have her JOIN the xmen in the middle of their mutant supremacy is actually true arc
uggggh
It's her fault for not selling her pride, I warned her that she had to show more skin and do sexier poses, but no... she wanted to be a respectable character, well, look where that got us.
>Dr McNinja guy gets a shot at the big leagues >Hits it out of the park with Gwen Poole >Hasn't been given a shot in any Big 2 since
Fricked up honestly.
>normalgays forgot about her after the novelty of her costume wore off >fans desperately try to forget about all the damage marvel did to the character after her comic ended
At this point there are probably only a few hundred general Gwenpool fans. It seems like the bulk of her fanbase have completely written off anything new from the character.
Gwenpool is one of the few characters I was all in on from basically the start. The first issue of Unbelievable, specifically the ending, blew my expectations away. Seeing the fanbase dwindle over the years after Unbelievable ended and everything she was in after that being mediocre at best has been sad to see. Like that guy who used to do all the neat Gwenpool art playing with panels. He hasn't done anything Gwenpool in ages. Even more recently Gwen still had a really active fanbase on here, Gwensday had become a weekly thread. Then the recent digital comic that relegated her to being nothing more than padding for Marvel's pride anthology I think really made it click for the remaining fans that things would never get better. Maybe in 2025 or 2026 Marvel will get the band back together and let Hastings and Gurihiru do a mini or something for her 10th anniversary, but even that I don't think will bring many fans back at this point.

doesn't work, there never was an original king arthur anime character.
I think Unbelievable is her best work and no subsequent run featuring her comes close, but I wouldn't say 'completely' written off. I think every run that followed usually had at least one interesting idea or concept that don't entirely feel out of place, just usually is mired in all the other baggage. >WCA introduces Jeff who is a cute companion and while the Quintin romance wasn't great I also don't think it was as terrible as it's often made out to be, more boring than anything else but it introduced the idea to Gwen getting romance arcs >GSB had a terrible issues 1-3 but the lolrandumb behavior that dominated it is somewhat explained in 4-5 as Gwen's intentionally acting more manic than usual in a desperate attempt to increase her own viewership, plays with the idea of Gwen's crippling fear of meta-death that was set up in Unbelievable. Also the mutant recon, while surely not canon and doesn't actually add anything to her character, 'is' a interesting avenue for future stories and given Deadpool's ties to the X-men it's somewhat appropriate >LU had Gwen making some pretty amoral decisions she's usually known for like cheating her way into getting her GED and forcing a love triangle between two friends just to increase interest in her, stuff she would have done early on in Unbelievable for certain, and I liked issues 1/2 delving into her taste for romance-arcs. Even the concept that Gwen learns she's asexual I don't think is entirely out of the question for her were it handled competently over a proper arc with build up rather than having Gwen gaslit into it over a single issue that was basically a preachy, self-indulgent PSA pamphlet
Again, it's a fair statement that Gwen's best story is Unbelievable, and maybe even Unbelievable is still her only objectively 'good' story. But even the stuff that follows, as mired in their flaws as they are, still have a few nuggets of intrigue that give me hope for the future
Teddy would absolutely be the focus of the next story arc I'd have in mind. There was so much left unsaid and so much potential for Gwen's growth in realizing just how deep the consequences of her exodus from reality was for someone she deeply cares about, and Teddy himself could even make for a great antagonist to her. After all, Teddy is from the human world too, so why couldn't he develop the same powers that being from another, 'real' universe granted Gwen?
I had an idea for a story for a long time, but absolutely no skill to implement it. >Two archeologists are inspecting an old temple in India, where they discover an old altar with naga statue. One of the archeologists knocks down the other, revealing himself to be Massster and makes the spirit in the statue possess the unconscious archeologist, reviving Orto, who turns out to be a minor deity.
Orto promises Massster a kingdom in mortal world, if he helps him regain his true power and get revenge on Gwenpool for humilating him. With the promise of the reward and holding his own grudge against Gwen, Massster agrees and they form an alliance.
>Gwen is trying to reconnect with her brother and the 616 version of her parents, but Cecil contacts her, asking if she had something to do with robbery of ornamental sword from the nearby museum. Feeling the callsign of the oncoming plot, Gwen ventures to investigate. >Meanwhile, similiar robberies in different parts of the globe, drags Batroc (whose own heist was interrupted) and Sara (who was studying the sword), back into the plot. >According to Sara, there are four swords connected somehow, but she hasn't figured yet how. The last one seems to be temporarily in Parker Industries, where they study the properties of the unusual metal. >Gwen predicts that the culprit will strike there next and they rush in, only to find the place already under assault from Massster, and his, now mutated, snakes. >They manage to rescue Mega Tony, but Massster succeeds in stealing the last sword.
>Now, with all swords collected, Orto regains his full might, grows to kaiju size and becomes invulernable. >Then he rampages accross the city in search of Gwenpool, bringing havoc to Vincent Doonan's neighbourhood and dragging him into the fight.
Gwenpool and her team tries to stop Orto, with Cecil as mission control, but nothing works on Orto now. >Meanwhile, Massster goes after Cecil, to blind the team, but is eventually defeated by asgardian doggo and Cecil (under Gwen's suggestion) boobytrapping the place. >Back to Orto, desperate Gwen tries something new, and forced her power to show her panels with Orto's arms, and cuts off one of the panels. >Visibly nothing changes, but Sara claims that whatever Gwen did, de-synced the swords for a moment and Orto can be wounded now. >In a very Gwenpool fashion, they go for overkill, and drop a building on him. >At the ending, we see officer Gray, dragging Massster to police car, and archeologist being pulled from the rubble. >The swords are recovered, and Doctor Strange makes a cameo as the gang asks him to take the cursed statue for the safekeeping.

nice, I saw one some days ago but it died quickly.
Radio-anon here again, following up the project. Some minor updates going on by now, just started the character design proccess for the marketing stunt ideas I have for next year (So far I have Gwen, Teddy, Batroc, Cecil and one of the villains done, the line-art that is).
I'm still waiting for that contact of mine to deliver the finished logo for the project, but I think he has stuff going on, work and all that, so probably I'll have to make it myself.
Beyond that, I also shared the first episode with some contacts, to see what they think about the story, if I have to change something, etc. Turns out they all loved it, specially Gwen and Teddy's scenes, so that's good (specially since it's one of the main focus of the plot).
Probably by the end of October I have half the characters designed and some teasers builded (I'm thinking something big with the project, gonna try to make it active as much as I can when I announce it next year).
Basically a radio-drama about Gwenpool, following the original run of Hastings as a direct sequel to that. Plan is to release it next year, and so far I have all the scripts done, so next step is giving the project some art to help promote it once the time comes (characters designs, logos, a lot of stuff).
Good news are that, so far, some gwenanons really like the ideas surrounding the project (been talking about some of the proccess in past threads some times, about some of it's ideas moving around Teddy, Gwen, the main villain, the Gutter Space, etc).
Bad news are that it's a Spanish project, which at first means I won't be able to publish the final product here (UNLESS I find a way to translate it to english, which some weeks ago looked uncertain to me, until I got some tips by some friends which may help me translate the thing eventually). So far, I just can share some of the creative proccess behind, which I do to keep this threads alive and see some opinions with other gwenanons too.
Pic related is the dirty sketch of the logo I'm gonna try to build tonight, for instance. Hopefully I'm done with it this week and I can share it here before the thread dies.
>the asexual bullshit
Since it's a direct sequel to the original run, such thing never happened here, and neither did Gwenpool Strikes Back or the West Coast Avengers.
So yeah, none of that is in the project. Just pure Hastings stuff (or that's my objetive here, to build a story as close to that as possible in every way I can).
very glad to hear the project is still going on radio-anon, and very much like the line-art you got going for the marketing. That's a very cute looking Gwen there, I like the finger-guns
Glad to hear the first ep is getting some positive feedback too, looking forward to its release
Harley has the boon that a ton of people grew up on and remember her original cartoon characterization, so it'll always show up from time to time in some form or another.
Gwenpool is an obscure character from the word go who stopped feeling like herself after her first appearance and only appeared afterwards in mediocre to bad minis where she feels like a self-insert for whatever twitter addict millennial writer they have on it.
Harley. Gwenpool was ruined, but she only gets brought up once a year. Harley was ruined and has constantly had her corpse dragged around constantly for over a decade.
Harley literally is not recognizable as herself anymore, in both writing and design. Gwen's had writing problems (especially the latest sex thing) but at least you can still show a new gwen comic to someone who's only read Unbelievable and he'll know it's her.
This is half selfish since I have a similar character I’m working on, but I kinda wanna talk about an idea I had pitched in an earlier thread.
A version of Gwenpool who is a native resident of the marvel universe and a bit of a conspiracy nut. A girl who reads the comics and watches the movies that are based on true events (with secret identities removed and details changed) and tries to piece together what really happened in her obsession.
She is. But more Gwenpool than the other two. It really started as a thought experiment or who Gwen would be as a MU native. The answer is someone surprisingly similar to Rorschach though with the same Gwenish personality.
One funny thing though is the potential for this Gwen to try to abuse her knowledge like regular Gwen. Because main Gwen’s comic knowledge is usually correct but this Gwen Poole is relying on conspiracy knowledge, and so might be incredibly and hilariously wrong
That would be pretty funny all things considered. Though I’m still struggling to think on what some of her conspiracies might be
I did briefly have a thought that she might also end up unknowingly employed by MODOK as he sees her as an easy engine of chaos to throw at heroes
She totally buys into the Wolverine is a vampire conspiracy, though I’d hope she doesn’t buy any anti mutant conspiracies. It’s be funny if she had an X gene that granted her a useless or unconventional power. Like teleportation but only when she doesn’t know she teleported
She probably has the conspiracy that the reason why Spider-Man has so many different girlfriends is because after they mate, he eats them afterwards.

>you know the current Spider-Man isn’t actually the original right? Yeah he’s actually an asexual parasite from the spider planet who crashed here on a meteor. Every time he mates he lays some eggs and new Spider-Men hatch out and eat his girlfriend. That’s why there are so many spider people running around nowadays. They’re all his spawn.

>Gwen: Damn you you beautiful sexy b***h! You can’t make me gayyyyyyy >Rogue walks up and stared at Gwen writhing on the ground >Rogue: Jean what did you do to that girl? >Jean: nothing, I just said hi
>Gwen poking around in the Fantastic 4’s trash in order to prove that they are actually another dimension F4 who killed and replaced the originals >randomly attacking mutants with stun batons in order to “kill the evil Krakoa mind control spores” >wholeheartedly believes Jameson’s rants about Spider-Man and thinks he is hiding a dark secret that only she can find out
Technically Gwen is already an NYU student - she hijacked the continuity and enrolled herself in order to get closer to Julie in the LU comic, she put herself in a game design course.
Can we all just pretend that anything written by that homosexual Whitley is a non-canon fever dream. Fricker turned Gwen Asexual just so he could write the first comic about someone with that label.
As you should be.
her first run was good. the art was great.
she's also hot
It wasn't. Aside from cute animu art it's fricking garbage
wrong
Nobody care about deadpool maybe when the new movie comes out.
Get flagged, get body bagged
what does that mean
Her last ongoing, that shitty webcomic, she was made "aerosexual" or something like that, same as the author of the comic. Any character that gets forcefully placed under one of the gay flags of the author, gets sent into the shadow realm of the fandom.
they should just retcon it. one of the best parts of her character/og run was the sex appeal

i can't believe they asexualized my girl
On the plus side, it means Gwenpool will never turn into Star Butterfly and have the majority of her comic focus on romantic drama.
this would be a plus if they'd do anything with her at all
>Twitter is the law of the land, and Twitter is always right
>numerals
Why would it crater her popularity
Pic related.
As soon as Jon came out as gay, that became his personality and as a result his initial popularity hit rock bottom.
And they draw him more and more like some Twinky gay
Because she's MY WIFE. It's no coincidence that they made her both asexual and aromantic. They wanted to take away MY WIFE
That's just another Gwenpoole then. There are Several now all differed from the author.
Dude if that was the case Alan Scott and Iceman would still be straight. My brother was right, everything has to be gay nowadays.
It's true, your brother told me that while sucking my dick
And your mom told me you were a mistake while blowing my ass.

True. Ironically the multiverse could fix this but instead of using it for anthology purposes it gets used like it is

lewds can’t save her trainwreck of an origin
the reason why Gwenpool will never get another comic is because she's in my house right now.

OP here, this is the first i'm hearing of this.
what are you making?
Hopefully I'm done with it this week and I can share it here before the thread dies.
are you going to be keeping with the asexual bullshit they tacked onto her or no? if so, i'm in. more power to you, anon
>the asexual bullshit
Since it's a direct sequel to the original run, such thing never happened here, and neither did Gwenpool Strikes Back or the West Coast Avengers.
So yeah, none of that is in the project. Just pure Hastings stuff (or that's my objetive here, to build a story as close to that as possible in every way I can).
nice
very glad to hear the project is still going on radio-anon, and very much like the line-art you got going for the marketing. That's a very cute looking Gwen there, I like the finger-guns
Glad to hear the first ep is getting some positive feedback too, looking forward to its release
Who got ruined harder, Harley or Gwenpool?
Harley, by far.
I guess you could call her /x/ Gwen if you want
She sounds like a combination between Gwenpool, Rorschach, and the Question.
Imagine if she ends up hilariously wrong about the majority of the heroes, but ends up being spot on about Cosmic Ghost Rider and no one believes her.
>Gwen: You know how the heroes are slowly being replaced by younger people little by little? Well the reason for this is because we're colliding with another dimension that's swapping our inhabitants with people from the other world
>Cecil: Gwen, that was the plot to the Super Mario Bros movie.
>Gwen: That wasn't a movie, it was a documentary based on true events. Bob Hoskins was trying to send us a message and I'm the only one who got it.
>Cecil: Jesus Christ
>Cecil: Gwen, what are we even doing here
>Gwen: staking out the location. If my calculations are correct than this is the place where the US government dumps the bodies of their failed Captain America clones
>Cecil: and you don’t think they would just incinerate them because…
>Gwen: it would react poorly with the mutant blood in the super soldier serum and create a zombification gas
>Cecil: ok…
>Gwen: oh shoot there it comes
>Cecil: I think that’s just a garbage truck
>Gwen: that’s exactly what they want you to think
>Cecil: Saturday night. I could be gaming, but instead I’m knee deep in garbage
>Gwen: shhh here it comes
>Gwen is spying on the X-Men to find more proof on her dumb theory that Wolverine being a vampire and Cyclops being another clone of Captain America.
>gets noticed by Jean.
>Jean: hi, what are you…
>Gwen: oh god noooo! I forgot my tinfoil hat and now I… ughhhh eugghh, must resists the… gayness… neuggghhoooohh… uhhh boobies invading mind! I won’t be chaaaanged no matter how pretty you become aaauuughhh!
>Jean: …
>Gwen: Damn you you beautiful sexy b***h! You can’t make me gayyyyyyy
>Rogue walks up and stared at Gwen writhing on the ground
>Rogue: Jean what did you do to that girl?
>Jean: nothing, I just said hi
>The Question Gwen
Damn, that's kind of based, you're into something right there.
>Gwen poking around in the Fantastic 4’s trash in order to prove that they are actually another dimension F4 who killed and replaced the originals
>randomly attacking mutants with stun batons in order to “kill the evil Krakoa mind control spores”
>wholeheartedly believes Jameson’s rants about Spider-Man and thinks he is hiding a dark secret that only she can find out
sure
Then it's up to her fans to keep her alive with art and stories.
>forgotten
never. i hope she gets a new book
Heather Antos self insert
not her original creator
I'm definitely going to self insert into Gwenpool if you know what I'm saying
As it should be, she needs to be safe from nuMarvel Degeneracy after they forcer her to be Asexual.
And after what they did to jeff
wh-what happened to jeff?
Someone post the jeffverse and deadpool pic
Gwen should piggyback into Kamala's book and be an NYU student.
Kamala is suffering being part of the x-shitters now, leave Gwen out of this.
