The Knives Out movies are just his excuse to turn people who piss him off in real life into stupid and ineffectual Saturday morning cartoon villains. I'm willing to bet Glass Onion was partially inspired by a real life event in which Johnson got btfo in a simple social deduction game, and he proceeded to write a two hour cope about how he was actually just too smart to win.
He was correct about Star Wars though, even his movie was shit. He actually made the issue 10x worse by eviscerating that franchise as a theatrical event. Now it's just about how many callbacks, cameos, and cultural/cinematic references Filoni can make. The new things are themselves just investments in future callbacks and cameos.
