The premise of a carrier is fine, it's just the execution of the hurr durr janitor having access to an extremely hazardous secure area and leaving the only known said carrier completely unguarded that is moronic.

whereas 28 weeks stretches the suspension of disbelief; the Rage Virus is easily the worst pathogen to ever affect mankind and they havent* nuked Britain... instead they're trying to fricking resettle it????
The kind of virus that makes itself immediately known, is only transmissible through bodily fluids and always kills its host off can be worked with. The main problem with the second movie is the idiocy of some random janitor having access to every part of a military controlled building and the American military not guarding the sole carrier of the virus. Then again, the movie was trying to be some hamfisted Iraq allegory so it failed in all sorts of ways, but the suspension of disbelief for the virus itself isn't one of them.
That's why it was so devastating in the first place. Best zombie plot is zombies basically having super rabies, instead of becoming reanimated dead, because reanimated dead people would fix itself within 2 months due to decay
There's a comic that brings back the black chick, it's pretty good and acts as a bridge between the first and second movies as well as expanding on it. Still has some moronic character moments but most of them die fairly quickly as a result
Original was an early full digital movie with Blair Witch cachet (and easter egg post credit alternate endings). Sequel was another crew and was completely conventional by the numbers zombie mofie.

The first movie established the "zombies" all die from starvation after a few months. There never should have been any sequels.
But Weeks explains why the virus comes back and establishes that it spread to mainland Europe.

intro was pure kino then it turned into a snoozefest. no characters from 1 which would have been fine if the new characters were interesting.

I think the quality of the filming itself isn't that great, so it would poor at 720p or 1080p.
