It was set in modern times and the guy was assaulting some kind of building or something and beating up a bunch of dudes in tactical gear in a hallway.
What is your problem with Le Samourai? Is it so popular but also bad that you'd call it overrated?
I'd probably list a Kurosawa film that wasn't 7 Samurai because I think Kurosawa is like Kubrick where the public believes everything he did was an 11/10 but a lot of his stuff is just 'good'.
I suggest 400 Blows. Though I think City of God is wildly overrated too. Disingenuous depiction of favela people. Pretending like their just normal people born into bad circumstances is bullshit, much like most american black movies. In actuality they have had no education during their critical development years and are now hopelessly moronic and violent.
Easy. Even if you like this film, how can you say Tokyo Story is the "greatest film of all time"? It's so ridiculous that it's almost insulting knowing that someone said that with a straight face -- and concerning that they meant it.
How dare you? I wasn't a huge fan of L'aventura, actually, but still.
doesn't matter what you "consider", America is diverse country, blacks being a big part of it
A "white" american has more in common with an african american than with a white european

I love Bergman but can't understand why Persona is his most adored film--out of 15 or so that I've seen it is my least favorite. Mulholland Drive is a much better version of it.
its one thing to consider it overrated or dislike it, but at least dont admit that you've literally never watched it. first 3 points are objectively wrong. 4 can be considered true, but welcome to japanese storytelling. yes, schmaltzy ending, but if you say "for no reason" you didnt actually watch it, and also arent familiar with how japanese storytelling works. shit was pretty clear.
How's it feel to be the first person who has an objectively wrong opinion?
Any Japanese animated film.
There was some really famous martial arts film that I fell asleep during.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?
It was set in modern times and the guy was assaulting some kind of building or something and beating up a bunch of dudes in tactical gear in a hallway.
the raid?
Yes, thank you. I don't like those kind of movies so I could be wrong, but to me the amount of praise it got was way overblown.

Watch high and low
It's waaay better than seven samurai
>filtered
Idiots

Good answers.

you could see the twist from a mile away
RRR
I liked this movie. But the best movie of the century? Frick no. Critics are crazy
Seven Samurai and/or Rashomon.
Disagree about Rashomon.
It almost single-handily created a new genre of film.
I'm not saying it's bad, just overrated.
Rashomon is kino
seriously
Blue is the Warmest Color
European arthouse shits except French
Anything with Monica Vitti
Easy. Even if you like this film, how can you say Tokyo Story is the "greatest film of all time"? It's so ridiculous that it's almost insulting knowing that someone said that with a straight face -- and concerning that they meant it.

she's fricking creepy
Nimm das zurück!
idiot detected
i kinda agree
rashomon is pretty low on my list of favorite kurosawa
pretty man, pretty movie.
Solaris
I love Tarkovsky, but it's probably his weakest film.
casablanca
it's American
I just assumed from the name it was panaman (mexican)
The first Mad Max
ITT: absolutely filtered people
Every Nouvelle Vague and Third Cinema movie
Especially Godard. His narration gets in the way of his films. Even in his classics.
I don't consider Blacks to be American
Has a movie ever been made by black people that wasn't about the fact they're black? Do they ever just have an adventure or something?
Nope
Juice
uhhhhh
um
Dead Presidents kinda
Book of eli
That's a great answer
Moonwalker
Blade
Blankman
Friday (takes place in the hood but it's not about race politics)
A lot of Blaxploitation movies are not actually about being black. That's just the sales pitch.
Training Day, one of my favourite flicks
Cabin in the Sky
Coming to America has some racial humor but is in no way about blacks being black.
Probably African movies. Blacks in the West base their identity around not being white.
doesn't matter what you "consider", America is diverse country, blacks being a big part of it
A "white" american has more in common with an african american than with a white european
7.5
>zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
i couldn't make it through the three Ozu films i tried to watch, fell asleep within 15 minutes every time
the pleb hivemind is real
You two first.

City of God
Parasite, squid game, any other Korean trash.
anything by Bergman but specially Persona
I love Bergman but can't understand why Persona is his most adored film--out of 15 or so that I've seen it is my least favorite. Mulholland Drive is a much better version of it.
I fricking hate Amerimutts
never seen it but the hype at the time and poster makes me think I am correct
Highest rated foreign film on IMDb, yet it's 2/10 anime garbage
>no real plot
>no real characters
>not even eye candy
>awkward, inconsequential dialogue
>shmultzy ending for no reason
trash

i grew up on that movie, i just grew up and you didnt. cope
>i just grew up
Clearly not.
Princess Mononoke is 10000x better
No, Princess Mononoke is actually bad.
old boy
Lots of horror
No one thinks any horror movie is actually good
Portrait of a lady on fire
I cannot recall a filmed more hyped up by critics and when I finally watched it dear god
what a fricking snoozefest
literally forgotten already. It was a woman movie, go figure. Their idols crumble nightly
Kung fu trash
Love from Kazakhstan
>i dont like something, that means its overrated
>non american
shit i fricked up sorry.
lmao good job anon
Stalker
>Ain't even seen it, yet love it
How this piece of shit even became so popular. Very boring and bad. Just because it's weird and somewhat obscure, it doesn't make it great.
Even the poster is a big brain
>I am very intelegiant
Forgot the poster
It's the big brain
The 400 Blowjobs
There's like 2 at best in it
