Universal/Nintendo will probably release an extended cut in the future just like No Way Home
>extended cut
Better be a cut without the licensed music.
That’d be sweet, I’m surprised no one has made a version with the original music
They also found an animation reel where the unused DK song was used.
They put that music in the film and THEN took it out to replace it with take on me
Well I'll be damned

Executives need to be shot out of a canon
I really want to know the conversation the execs had regarding the music
I fricking KNEW the shitty licensed music had to be a late addition, it doesn't even fit with the scene it's in
I am so fricking mad
Even funnier how Miyamoto and Koji Kondo approved supported this
Oh man we missed out on some dk tracks
There’s a fanedit that puts the original music back. It also cuts the dog scene down
Where? I've looked everywhere for one.

How do you actually watch it?

>It also cuts the dog scene down
Why?
That was the most useless scene in the movie
It rationalizes Mario feeling small because even a simple job turned into a fricking disaster. It also did it in a way that didn't make Mario or Luigi look incompetent by having them frick up the pipes themselves.
For me, the only licesned song they could swap out for Tyler's score would be Take on Me for his DK remix. Do that and I have no problem with the soundtrack. And I like Take on Me fine enough, it just didn't fit the scene it was in at all
>Universal
>Extended cut
Lol
>In the future
Yeah like 4 years from no when the movie isn't even relevant
It's no surprise that this film was heavily meddled with
I would not call less than 2 minutes of video heavily meddled with.
What about the removal of entire original compositions to be replaced with copyrighted songs that have been heard a million times in cartoon movies
It's cheaper than water to save somebody.
What?
They just used 80s songs, dude. Good 80s songs. Be thankful it isn’t the current stuff.
Not clicking that shit.
Synopsis?
One has Mario punching some koopa troopas during the fight scene in Brooklyn
The second is Mario and Peach in the fire flower field with him asking if he can show her around Brooklyn when everything is finished.
The last is a brief moment of Mario and Luigi in the sewers contemplating going back home before "Uncle Tony" finishes eating all the cannolis.
It’s just the usual shit that the editors trim for the run-time. It’s nothing serious.
>Cut for pacing
Three of those scenes combined were less than a minute long
They were cut to fit the run-time. It’s standard procedure to trim certain scenes to remove the least important elements to fit the required run-time.
>T. Chris meledandri
that's what they all say until the director mysteriously dies
>RELEASE THE KOOPRICK CUT
>The second is Mario and Peach in the fire flower field with him asking if he can show her around Brooklyn when everything is finished.
>The last is a brief moment of Mario and Luigi in the sewers contemplating going back home before "Uncle Tony" finishes eating all the cannolis.
Cut for time/pacing.
>One has Mario punching some koopa troopas during the fight scene in Brooklyn
Was this because Shiggy never approved of Mario throwing hands in Mario 64?
The koopa thing is set at night so there's probably a night version of the final battle that was completely trashed to do it during the day instead.
>Was this because Shiggy never approved of Mario throwing hands in Mario 64?
Doubt it. He still throws a couple punches in the movie. Even hits Bowser with the FORWARD AERIAL during the final fight.
Peepeepoopoo
>a scene relating to Peach actually bonding with Mario a little more was cut
go fricking figure. on top of these scenes the uncut version of the montage where she pulls the fish off mario and they both fall back isn't even included either. they really butchered this to hell and back for adhd children which made the pacing/characterization even harder to care about. i wonder if there were more scenes on luigi's end so he wasn't missing for most of the movie originally. or if there's like a genuinely great peach and mario scene somewhere
I'd describe it more as Mario bonding with Peach since all she does is smile and he's the one making the effort.
This was all from one animator too.
They even had the unused DK song playing.
God only knows what this movie went through.
It must feel weird to work on a movie like this. You've worked on this grand and hyped up animated movie for one of the biggest game IPs of all time, it's beloved and well-received, but the vision got tossed around so bad and you know everyone's work got butchered before it was over with that pacing, and most of the people are likely under positions to not be able to share their work. So people love what you worked on but you can't really go into detail about how much it got butchered.
No bowser no watch
Deleted scenes are where they leave the soul in.
True, frozen 2 had some kino moments that were cut
What's annoying is that they didn't even put it into the home media release. Who fricking cares about if the ADHD children lose interest during a quiet scene? They already bought the damn thing for home replay daily. Why not reincorporate this shit in? It pisses me off so much. It has nothing to do with theatric run time, it has nothing to do with making kids bored during the test audience phase and needing to tighten everything for the theatrical run's reception. It's fricking home video. It's streaming. Fricking fix the movie.
You guys have autism.
It's sad when even Mario has to be subjected to the kind of executive meddling like "needs pop songs" and "can't have any room to breathe" when Mario having a movie sells on the name/brand alone. It's not some unique IP of a movie that needs to hit a home run on its own merits and has to strike below the belt in terms of integrity to accomplish that (at least to executives.) It's so fricking lame.
Why didn't they give it to DreamWorks 🙁
There should have been a panic attack scene, it's very inclusive.
People were claiming Mario had a panic attack after Bowser knocked him into the restaurant and he looked all sad and weak. I don't think it was one, but funny seeing people claim it as one.
