History lesson: Catholics were the first Christians who molded all Christian beliefs. Eastern Orthodox are second splitting in 1054 and Protestants get a secured split in 1521.
Converting to any of denominations weither it be Catholic or Protestant or Orthodox would be a conversion to Christianity. The distinction is there because there are other Abrahamic religions that either don't worship Jesus (Judaism) or see him as simply a prophet (Islam). Conversion to Judaism, Christianity, or Islam, would be a conversion for Abrahamic belief.
