There's a lot of rules so here's the list.
      https://fairlyoddfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Da_Rules
Here's some of the most important ones as well as some fairly odd ones.
      >Can't use magic to win a competition
      >Can't wish for money
      >Can't wish for people to fall in love
      >Can't use magic to break apart true love
      >Can't wish for it to be Christmas every day
      >Can't wish for breakfast after 10:30 A.M.
      And the most sacred rule.
      >Can't wish for someone to die

        >Can't wish for breakfast after 10:30 A.M.
What's the deal with that? A lot of restaurants offer all-day breakfast menus, what happens if you wish for those instead?

It’s a joke because apparently some kid managed to make a breakfast wish with such horriying consequences - that they never specify - that the fairy council banned it forever

We could outthink Da Rules to obtain these wishes, outside box solutions, though give or take a few for obvious reasons.

1st rule: Get a few manuals able to help me win the competition through world techniques and body mechanics.

2nd rule: There’s a trick here or the utilization of a “tool” for this, making it not really a rule breaking wish. It’s basically making a 3d printer for just about anything, including money.

3rd rule: like rule one, just get some books and learn how to do better.

4th rule: Understandable, yet some couple that’s evil and I’m breaking them for the sake of karma and suffering. Cupid be damned.

5th Rule: Good point since the same thing leads to a cycle of hell.

6th Rule: I will go off on the court by saying we wouldn’t have chicken or waffles and no egg in a burger. Watch as chaos erupts from that.

Finally 7th rule: another tool use, and it’s to wish for a gun.

Christmas and Breakfast rules were added after a wish had globally disastrous consequences. Timmy’s had 3 or 4 rules because of his wishes. Presumably the others were also added after some kid almost caused the apocalypse with them

Thing is, all their magic is bullcrap. When wishing for objects, you are taking them from somewhere else. [Evidence: Halloween Episode.]

And much like the bugs, you can only transport people somewhere else not dangerous.

No but Timmy has tried to make wishes that were just too fatal to be granted.
Like that one epsiode where he wished someone would get run over by a train, Cosmo and Wanda couldn't grant that wish due to it being fatal.
Timmy then wished for the guy to get run over by a car, but he had to settle for a clown on a unicycle.

I always wonder if this scene is taken out of context. It's been a while since I watched but I wound't doubt is some sort of dream sequence were they confront all their biggest nemesis and people are just taking out of context on purpose.

FoP is a interesting case of "too much seasons" rot, because unlike the Simpsons or SpongeBob, it is the type of show the producers never bothered to care much about
As the Simpsons became stale, they desperately tried making the show whackier and then eventually just tried to modernize it until it became a B- tier boring slice of life show with a boomer team failing to keep up with the trends
SpongeBob devolves into a more demented Ren and Stimpy style show for a while and then into a poorly paced nostalgia wankering feast, but at least you could see that the new teams had a vision on which direction they wanted the show to go
But FOP... In FOP's case no one gave a frick, they just kept cutting corners and abusing pressing the same buttons over and over to milk it dry. They used cheap tactics that went extinct already in the 80s like adding new characters, shoving popular characters into the center of every episode, making the baby literally do celebrity impersonations, throwing the budget and writing rules out of the window... It's literally everything wrong with television encapsulated and flanderized

You can see the same thing happening to the Loud House right now, which is probably going to arbitrarily stay alive for another 5 years. Zero direction, and a total slave to focus testing instead of any creative passion whatsoever. It might as well be a cartoon created by AI.

Fun fact, that happened in 2008.
      FOP lasted until 2017.
Poof literally was introduced closer to the start of the show than its end.

That's horrifying. I thought it ended circa 2009 or 2010. It lasted an entire decade after? What the frick happened in that time?

        Anonymous

        >What the frick happened in that time?
after Foop Nick started to neglect the show
there was a season of nothing but specials and live action TV movies
then the season with the infamous fairy dog
then the season with Chloe, which for some reason got extended and had to switch to Flash animation at the end

FoP legitimately has the worst seasonal rot out of anything I've ever seen. The Simpsons became just ridiculously boring, and stuff like Family Guy or South Park can get occasional good jokes but FoP is so aggressively shit for a variety of reasons.

Only the three way "conflict" between Vicky, Timmy, and Tootie was any interesting. The fairies were just a pain to write around and usually treks to their world were no deeper than "Look it's [b-list celeb] as a fairy!". I'd watch the shit out of a show about Dimmsdale if there was no magic involved whatsoever, but they keep rebooting this shitpile strictly with just Cosmo and Wanda and OCs, it's mindboggling.

      >getting rid of the main draw of the show and replacing it with slice-of-life shipping
I mean, I agree that they should've explored the Vicky/Tootie dynamic more(for example there was apparently an entire fricking special where Vicky gets an anti-fairy and Tootie doesn't appear in it at all, what's up with that?), but I don't know if that's the right way to do it.

Does FOP have something like "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" or "Behind the Laughter"?

That is to say, an episode or episodes that are often cited as cutoff points that serve as either the last episode of the classic episodes, or the last episode where you can still end the show with some level of dignity?

Season 6 and beyond is really not worth watching.

They did this weird brightening of the palette, which does not go well with the imperfect art style of FOP. It just made everything look way too sterile.
Some of the plots really just gave up on the characters. Vicky becomes over the top evil, which really just means, she has no other traits than screaming and aggressive actions, angles like her scheming and fake acting in front of parents is dropped, they forget she's sisters with Tootie who likewise becomes one dimensional, and use a particular bad episode involving her in season 6 to outright retcon Channel Chasers which was pretty much where I gave up on the show

      Anonymous

Whatever was the last episode before Poof's introductory special (which I think was at some point also intended to be a series finale?)
I don't remember the special even being that bad, though still not as good as the first few seaons, its just that Poof's existance coincides with so many of the issues the show would pile up and the writing itself was already getting worse slightly before that.

      Anonymous

For me personally, Meet the OddParents, the season 8 finale and the last pre-HD episode. Probably the second best episode the show could've ended on (Channel Chasers being above) and an episode which the creatives at least thought might be the last episode overall (unlike Channel Chasers). There would still be seasons 6-8, all which feature many of the tropes that would destroy the show (albeit downplayed), and Timmy's Secret Wish but at least there was some sense the people writing still had an inkling of caring about the continuity, side cast, and worldbuilding of FoP back then.
