It's so fricking weird listening to Gorillaz's ST now, it feels like an absolute time capsule back to those halcyon days right before 9/11. It was basically showcasing a lot of the underground music scene at the time and styles that were only just starting to bubble to the surface. I love Demon Days too and while I think Plastic Beach was a minor step down I still think it rounds out their "classic" era, but ST is really kind of its own little window into a world that's not completely lost. I miss it, there are only a few other pieces of media that really pull me back to that time like this one does.
It's just kind of sad honestly. The 90s were insanely optimistic towards their end and the fact that hope was utterly dashed as soon as the new Millennium turned around feels like one of the great divergence points in history. Imagine the 2000s with actual real optimism instead of growing angst and cynicism.
Maybe it's me wanting to be optimistic but I feel like we're getting around to trying to dig ourselves out of that ditch that were tossed into
It's not found in todays mainstream media, it can be found in some of the indie projects people are making now but the feeling that buttholes keep trying bury the ditch again isn't going away
Never take bong musicians seriously. All their political opinions are tripe. Every single self-referential comedy about how bureaucratic, idealistic and emotionally weak the English are, are 100% true.

Sounds about right. To this day you can still find c**ts complaining about how insanely traumatic the Thatcher administration was. What a bunch of ninnies.

Tomorroooow tomorroooow comes real gaaaay
the digital won't let me go
The verdict doesn't love our soul
You're a ho, girl. Yeah, you're a homo.

the world is spinning too fast
I miss early 2000s Gorillaz
Those days are long gone... In addition to the fact that Hewlett now makes the characters behave in a politically correct way in a discreet way
Frick Jamie and Damon
I miss early 2000s in general

I miss that era too, back when Damon wasn't a colossal homosexual.
It's really strange how it felt like a hopeful era for the future and then it got cut down and nothing similar ever emerged again

Post THAT comic
You know the one
Why is Murdoc so fricking green now?
He is old and getting rotten alive.
He's a stinky jaundice zombie.
he slowly pickled himself over the years to try to become immortal... he sleeps in a giant vat of pickle juice
So does he not have eyeballs?
he has dual eight-ball fractures. His eyes are black because they're filled with blood
Well his eyes are just always white now, for some reason.
Blind
They changed over when Murdoc went to jail. He's happy now, since Murdoc came back a changed man and doesn't treat him like shit anymore.
What happened to him?
ever noticed how he stops smiling after Murdoc shows up
lol
bump
I wonder if Damon is still pro-tibet
