Why it's so good? I've tried to make my mom watch it but she says "nothing happens"
Sorry your mom is a brainlet pleb.

Is Mad Men the only great show that didn’t have a season that is considerably weaker than the rest? It’s consistent all throughout. With every other great series, you can tell there was season that was clearly not as good as the others
>Sopranos s1
>the Wire s5
>Breaking Bad s5
>The Shield s6
>Deadwood s3
Very true. Even 2 which is the weakest season is still just a lesser degree of exceptional than the rest.
That said, almost all of the seasons have at least 1 episode that is fairly weak (looking at you Tea Leaves). s6 is the major exception which is one of the reasons I put it at the top. Every episode of that season is great.
Breaking Bad S5 has some of the best episodes of television ever aired
too bad seasons have more than one episode.
Season 1 was shit
>The Sopranos S1
>The Shield S6
both of those were good, homosexual
Tbh good ranking
Hilarious that every woman that prioritized work over family ended up alone
Peggy ended up with Stan
Huh?
checked, and ignore that anon. He's just letting his anger toward women cloud his memory.
I am that anon and yes my self hatred towards women clouded my memory
Not true with Peggy as others have pointed out. And with Joan it was honestly a good thing. She'd done the whole prioritizing family first thing with Greg and we all know how that bit her in the ass. Her whole arc was 7 seasons of slowly learning to get what she wanted for herself rather than rely on other people to give it to her. Best thing in the world that she was standing on her own two feet in the end.
hell yeah
I started on s6 watched till the end then started back at s1
that's how I recommend getting into MM
ps - don is literally me
I think that would ruin it. A big part of the reason s6 is so great is that it offers a lot of the final - and most important - pieces of the puzzles of what makes the characters do what you've been seeing them do for the previous 5 seasons (pic related). A lot of the fun of the show is just observing human behavior and analyzing it. s6 gives you a lot of the answers.
I'm smart enough to connect all the dots on my own
it was nice to see the fully formed characters at their full strides and then go back and see how they got there
to each their own
I hate that they switched from that comfy original Sterling Cooper office to the hospital ward one for the rest of the show.
The McCann office was nice but the men's suit aesthetics were awful compared to the earlier seasons.
I thought it worked well to signal the change of the era, both in terms of time period and in the characters' lives. It also coincided with switching from shooting on film to shooting on digital, which made the new office look brighter but also more plastic and less classic.
ive only watched it through twice but i remember thinking s1 was really weak while season 4-5 were the absolute peak achievement of the television medium
>plebs filtered by s6
No surprise. It's the most challenging season. I know plenty of people who don't even pretend to understand what pic related was about.
This is awful. So much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin.
it's one of my favorite shows but for me it's just 6 seasons. 3 seasons to build up don draper as the coolest guy and then 3 seasons to tear him down like the sad sack of shit he is. season 7 where don is racing cars in the desert and joan ends up doing coke with a sugar daddy, stan and peggy hooking up and roger getting the french canadian turbomilf is just a bunch of fanfiction tier bullshit. none of the characters in mad men deserve happy endings
Why don't we have a Mad Men reboot in the late 70's/80's?
I never got into mad men, what's the appeal lads
