Hello Kitty is pretty low down the list at 28.3 Billion, right below Batman at 29.6 billion. I'm actually kind of surprised reading this list, Pokemon is worth so much more than Disney, i'm surprised they don't have a giant Pokemon theme park or something. Wonder what they put all their money into.

I think a big part of why they're so profitable is that they DON'T run theme parks. Theme parks are a money pit that need to be maintained and added to constantly or people stop going. Much easier to just sell games, tv shows, movies & merch. Pokemon Center stores are essentially theme park gift shops anyway.
I look down on anyone who enjoys Pokemon past the age of 14. I get enjoying kid friendly shit like Pixar when you're older, but Pokemon is the apex of corporate slop and hasn't budged an inch in decades.

I haven't played any since the DS, got Legends Arceus and it was genuinely the most fun I've had playing a game since Pokemon Silver when I was 8. The pokemon actually walking around in the world and being able to throw pokeballs right at them was so much fun.

I think their problem was they committed to adding way too many new Pokemon each game, so they ran out of ideas pretty quickly. There's already plenty after the first 3-4 generations of games, they could have slowed it down and started adding other things to the games instead.
I never played the Pokemon games, but I watched the anime series as a kid and collected the cards. The first season of the anime and the first movie were pure kino and it sucks that Ash and his Pikachu aren't in the anime anymore, but I haven't watched the anime for many years now anyway so whatever.
