I liked TOAA's design in Immortal Hulk, but they did make the point that different people perceive him differently- the reporter gal said 'she sounds like my mother' at one point when he was speaking. i think the octopus/starfish shape of central node with arms and legs is a pretty universal shape because of the needs of sentient material living beings, so it kind of makes sense that a manifestation of a primal force attempting to be understandable to mortals would need to take a shape that's vaguely familiar, rather than, like, a nonmaterial solar-system-sized cloud of subatomic particles
While we're at it, I hate how the Beyonders, who were supposedly some of the most foreign-most beings to existence, just looked like moronic ayys

I feel the same way but I don't want it to come across like I'm just shitting on an artist but they come across as if "non human" was the sole metric used. Like these could easily be random concepts from artstation
With designs from creators like HP Lovecraft and HR Giger you can feel how much of their own personal fears and obsessions influenced their iconic creatures.
I can't really articulated exactly but "super hero redesign" has a certain energy to it that comes across as very "off"
It's because they HARD clash with the aesthetics of the Marvel Universe, they suffer from the same issue a lot of new characters like the Ashen Combine or Three Mothers do; being over designed as frick making them look like 4K modded Skyrim characters standing next to low rez unmodded vanilla assets. They'd be great in a universe where their design is more cohesive.

These look like something out of Ben 10.
I'm a Hickmangay, but I like none of that. The original Abstracts were kind of boring, but they were supposed to look mythical. Now they look like boring no-name alien creatures and shapes. For a series named "GODS" it sure is robbing them of any grandiosity and reducing them to blandness. The only thing less inspired would've been to turn them all into Tumblr Sexy(wo)men in suits. And honestly, I'd have vastly preferred that, than what I'm looking at now.

I like it. The LT is robotic and orderly looking, and Oblivion is like a virus/bacteria which makes sense for someone who is supposed to be chaotic and destructive.

I can say the same thing about Oblivion original design which it is still my favorite version of him. The new one isn't look bad, but only his skull animal head feels unnecessary to me because when I think it's face,it should looks mysteries and unrecognized.
Going to be bullshit if they decided to retcon Eternity and Infinity's designs as well.
