Well maybe Disney should try reuniting a boy band and getting them to make their first new hit single in over 20 years.

I'm not sure if it'll make more but I think the fact Dreamworks has no fear about sharing the theater with a fricking Disney Princess musical shows how far Disney's fallen.

Thanksgiving period is good business for family movies, your narratives are moronic

        >There’s something else that’s amazing here with Trolls Band Together: Universal fiercely dated this female-skewing movie before Disney’s Thanksgiving- skewing girl animated musical movie, Wish, which opens Wednesday to what is potentially $45M-$50M over 5-days. Is Universal out of their freakin’ minds? “No,” says one rival studio exec, “If this was seven years ago, you’d have to worry about Disney. But with their brand rusting, you don’t need to worry about them anymore.” The notion is that two animated musical movies for girls can live in the holiday box office for the next month-plus.

The narrative is supported by the studio execs

Staggered international release starting from last month. They think that projected worldwide gross on a $95M budget is enough.

    Wish
    >undercooked premise, weak narrative, offputting 3d pretending to be 2d animation, tonally weird music choices
    Trolls
    >blends multiple animation styles for maximum spectacle in a simple film that prioritizes having fun musical numbers

Trolls understands their audience far better than Wish. Illumination/Dreamworks have easily overtaken Disney/Pixar in the past decade.

      >fun musical numbers
imma be honest, despite the scale, i thought the songs in the second movie were stale. Didn't like how the special assassin trolls all had their own genres but ultimately use only one or two songs from that genre. Those kpop trolls used like one song and I groaned every time they showed up
