God can not be deceived, swayed, tricked, or lied to. God is Truth, and God sees everything, knows everything. Life is the trial, after which follows Judgment. And few are those who will pass.
Why did god choose to give my sister a miscarriage?
Also, when Jesus 'sacrificed' themselves for the sins of man, why would he forgive all the child rapists?
Seems pretyy not cool to me
>Why did god choose to give my sister a miscarriage?
Why do your milk teeth fall out?
>Also, when Jesus 'sacrificed' themselves for the sins of man, why would he forgive all the child rapists?
>"Why does my brother get food as well, even though I have been good all day and he hasn't?" cries the child.
Also: people are not forgiven by default, they are given the chance to become forgiven. No one is irreconcilable with God. No soul is beyond salvation.
Are there Christians who actually believe Jeffrey Dahmer is in heaven because he declared himself Christian after getting caught?
Because seriously frick that.
You seem to have completely misunderstood Christianity's central point.
EVERYONE, every single person who has ever lived, is deserving of ETERNAL HELLFIRE because of Original Sin. It doesn't matter if you're a serial killer of his victim, because all sins are equal and everyone is equally condemned. Only through Jesus can your sins be forgiven, not through virtuous living. And Jesus washes all sins away because all sins are equal. So yes, Jeffrey Dahmer is in Heaven, seated at the right hand of God to judge the living and the dead amen
>Original Sin
Some dude named August Hippo added nonsensical Lore and now I'm supposed to take it as canon. LMAO
If there is no fall there is no salvation. No Christ without Genesis. Bet you believe in evolution too
I don't believe in anything beyond the idea that someone gets to live a life of sin and then go "WHOOPSIE I SINNED FORGIVE ME JESUS" and it works is beyond total fricking nonsense.
Yet it's the only message Christianity has. The whole point. If you dismiss this, you dismiss Christianiy in toto.
Yeah well call me a liberal homosexual but I prefer to believe there's many paths to Heaven.
>Be a morally righteous Buddist/Muslim/Hindu whatever
>Whoopsie you failed to love Jesus because you weren't born into the winning religion, go rot in hell forever!
>Ah Mr. David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam. You became a Born Again Christian. Hahaha enjoy heaven!
>THANK YOU JESUS. I wasn't sure you'd let me in for all those murders
>You love me so I love you :3
That's because you don't read the Bible. Luke 18:9
You completely missed the point of Christianity.
>I am the way, the truth and the life. No one goes to the Father but through me.
Enjoy burning in Hell for rejecting it I guess
Yeah I hope Christianity is right, but I hope it's the kind where it's "You lived a moral life you can go to heaven or at least chill in Purgatory till Jesus decides you're ready to let out."
I also can't be a Catholic because I think the current one Benedict is an evil Marxist.
>Purgatory
>can't be Catholic
moron. You have two choices: accept Jesus or burn in hell. Moral life doesn't enter into it.
>there is none that is good, not one but the Father alone
>for all my good deeds are as dirty rags
I agree. I don't know if good exists but, a man that is an agnostic and leads a life full of good actions should have more chance of getting into heaven than a man that has done evil but is christian.
Perhaps if the heart of the man that has done evil is repentant with a force so strong that it is equivalent in emotional energy to the evil commited, AND if he follows with a life of good actions, I can understand him being forgiven.
Perhaps it is very rare that such men that have done true evil are forgiven.
This would make sense to me.
Inherent in this sort of viewpoint is downplaying one's own evil. Yeah, sure you're not as bad as a child rapist or whatever. But your own sins are still evil. You are still an evildoer. There isn't some clear point on a continuum at which one of you is okay and reconcilable to God, and one of you isn't and can't be. The closer to God a person is, the more deeply they understand how sinful they truly are, because they have a greater understanding of the holiness they're trying to live up to. As Paul states, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."
of course, but some evils are far beyond the every day man evil
it indeed is a continuum, yet when you look at the extremes, it's another story
there's a great korean movie where a mother loses her child because a man murdered him, and she visits him in prison, he's become a christian and says god has forgiven him, he's all smiles and feels at peace
obvious spoiler: the mother does not like this at all kek
I do not believe a man can be forgiven for certain types of evil, or if he can, his heart has to repent in such an extreme fashion that it is near impossible, his chance of being pardonned should be close to 0
Thankfully you are not the judge of men's souls that would be subject to your whims. By the token you exclude this or that sin, by that same token you might be excluded yourself. Ultimately whether a man is forgiven or not is between him and God and you cannot truly know it. But you have no say in the matter. You may not obtain forgiveness from men, but God will always forgive those who turn to him. In the example of the film you gave, the man's soul is not beholden to the family of his victim, or even the victim themself.
>by that same token you might be excluded yourself.
yes, and that is only fair
>kill a child
>say you follow christ
>do no penance just offer faithless worship
>this gets you to heaven
when people wonder why participation prizes are so common in america, i’d remind them of our overwhelming prottie majority
>do no penance just offer faithless worship
If it's Faithless God don't listen to you buddy
then how does faith not in turn inspire works of faith for the greater glory of god
in the stupid asiatic movie example you wrote your tripe response to, how would saying you have no remorse for your actions to your victim be a christian act
In Catholicism penance does not earn forgiveness for a sin, it works off the temporal punishment in purgatory, which is only for people who are going to heaven. Sins are forgiven completely in absolution, and all previous sins are forgiven completely in baptism. If a child murderer receives baptism, his murders are completely forgiven. But sure go ahead and bash "prots".
that is entirely incorrect and i challenge you to source your doctrine on that
He put the source right there dumbass
?
the degree of scholarship i’d expect from protestants whose entire churches are built on one ‘pastor’ disagreeing with another and creating a whole new denomination as a result
Catechism of the Catholic Church
1262 The different effects of Baptism are signified by the perceptible elements of the sacramental rite. Immersion in water symbolizes not only death and purification, but also regeneration and renewal. Thus the two principal effects are purification from sins and new birth in the Holy Spirit.
1263 By Baptism all sins are forgiven, original sin and all personal sins, as well as all punishment for sin. In those who have been reborn nothing remains that would impede their entry into the Kingdom of God, neither Adam's sin, nor personal sin, nor the consequences of sin, the gravest of which is separation from God.
1265 Baptism not only purifies from all sins, but also makes the neophyte "a new creature," an adopted son of God, who has become a "partaker of the divine nature," member of Christ and coheir with him, and a temple of the Holy Spirit.

>but some evils are far beyond the every day man evil
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9-10)
>sexually immoral
>greedy
>drunkards
>revilers
>will not inherit the kingdom of God
irrelevant since everyone on earth is guilty of murdering Christ, which is a much graver sin than any of those things
>a man that is an agnostic and leads a life full of good actions should have more chance of getting into heaven than a man that has done evil but is christian.
>"You lived a moral life you can go to heaven or at least chill in Purgatory till Jesus decides you're ready to let out."
What you both misunderstand is that it is immoral to deny Christ
You are either with him or against him.
>I also can't be a Catholic because I think the current one Benedict is an evil Marxist.
Currently there is no seated pope, which people like
would also do well to know
If you morons spent five minutes actually reading the Bible, your questions would be answered. Five minutes a day for eternal salvation. I bet you take shits longer than that.
god is omnipotent, god knows if you're being serious
this, it isn't a password at a nightclub, you gotta truly in your heart mean the ridiculous shit. "a guy died for me before I was born and I accept that I'm a fricked up little shit whose only default being tortured for eternity because of some guy sacrificing himself but not really because he was killed and the guy is also God. so when God sent part of God to die and then he died i became guilty of original sin even though he resurrected himself and then flew to heaven to be an immortal king- also he had magic powers."
Every single person who has said the password has not meant it and has not been let into heaven.
The notion of heaven is such an obvious peasant controlling wish fulfillment pandering nonsense story that not one person who has said it has actually meant it.

He didn't. He chose to make the vast majority of people have healthy children, which is a miracle you should appreciate instead of taking for granted
>Also, when Jesus 'sacrificed' themselves for the sins of man, why would he forgive all the child rapists?
Why do people who don't know anything about Jesus, the Bible and theology insist on talking about it? He sacrificed himself for our original sin
>Why do people who don't know anything about Jesus, the Bible and theology insist on talking about it? He sacrificed himself for our original sin
that's a great song tho

>Why did god choose to give my sister a miscarriage?
Why does it matter? Like even if we assume that means he's a malevolent god from our tiny perspective, why does it matter? Are you going to debate him and own him by showing him that he's acshually not worthy to be god because he gives you the ick?
Lmfao imagine being filtered by miscarriage
Gypsies exist. If god is real, he's not a good god.
The most obvious piece of evidence that disproves this, is what about people who know nothing of these "religions". You think they are just born to then suffer in the after life? No. All religion is a form of control created by man. If there is a God, its a source, an energy, and nothing what we have been taught.
white peepo movie
If you do something bad because someone of higher authority tells you to do so you still will be judged for it.
Just some Marcus Aurelius quote
>The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Father for the trials that shape thee.
Kino
Can someone explain why Orlando was okay with boning Eva Green, but not killing her husband with permission from the king for the good of the kingdom?
god that photo is so kino.
because he wasn't a dickhead
>affair with a married woman
>not a dickhead
this is really a glaring fault of the movie imo the movie wants us to think eva’s character is one of the good guys when her first and really only meaningful act is having sex with a stranger she knows pretty much nothing about and cheating on her spouse despite being the fricking queen. it tries to play it off as, ‘oh guy is the bad guy so its actually okay!’ which honestly just makes it weirder. all it does is establish both the queen and orlando bloom as morally irresponsible people. it has nothing to do with love because they just met, it just seems like they put the political stability of the entire kingdom at peril because the queen just wanted a good frick, which as you say just makes orlando’s character into a complete hypocrite. he’s too morally above doing the right things for the good of the kingdom but its okay if he lets the hot queen seduce him even though this extremely rash and could have massive political repercussions for a kingdom that is already falling apart and he is also supposedly still grieving over his dead wife.
and then at the end the story wants us to think that this wasnt clearly lust driven and the queen makes another awful decision to literally abandon the kingdom that still needs her (and its luxuries) to live le simple peasant life
this is the main reason why the movie is bad imo
Waaaah you cant just gave sex!!!
when having sex puts the fate of thousands of people at risk, yeah you shouldn’t do it. it’s incredibly selfish.
Shut up chudcel homosexual, go work on you manifesto
Good movie and amazing visuals.
Dude, he clearly wanted to do it, he was not a paragon of virtue right from the start. Still, he had his head and his heart in the right place most of the time despite his feelings.
This is a slight plagiarism of a Stoic quote by Epictetus that from memory goes something like
>"When you're afraid of someone or intimidated, it doesn't matter how powerful the man is when you sit across from him. The only person's opinion that matters in the end is the one above."
that's not even close to having the same meaning as what baldwin says. idiot.
Sounds the same, they both say don’t abandon your ideals for anyone
Aurelius' Meditations is just a /misc/ rehashing of Ecclesiastes.
Nothing. Everything.
Why is this movie (the directors cut) so good?
Why hasn’t Ridley been able to produce anything this memorable since?
Might be like with Lucas. He has good and bad ideas and just needs a tardwrangler to separate them to be able to produce kino again. His name just got too big that nobody dares to speak up against him anymore.
God only cares about a clean soul. If somebody order you to sully your integrity for survival, you must be ready to let your hands be covered in blood long before they ever touch mud.

Thanks for admitting that all religions are make believe bullshit.
and in turn these catechumens must go through their initiation rites before undertaking their baptism; do you think they do this without first serving penance and seeking substantial reconciliation with their victims?
“The Period of the Catechumenate can last for as long as several years or for a shorter time.”
https://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/who-we-teach/christian-initiation-of-adults
credit where it’s do you did at least provide a source for your claim, and in that salvation is not possible without baptism
>do you think they do this without first serving penance and seeking substantial reconciliation with their victims?
Yes. You take an RCIA class for a few months and then get baptized. You don't have to confess or do penance for any sins prior to baptism because they're completely forgiven in baptism as the Catechism states. Someone might ask for counseling and I suppose it's possible something might be asked of a known criminal, but at that point we're quibbling over details. The reality on the ground is that you go through the RCIA program, you get baptized, and then your sins are completely forgiven and you go to heaven unless you die in mortal sin committed after baptism.
we’re quibbling over this detail because in the example given, we were discussing the adult baptism of a child murderer.
and going further into that given example (which is unrealistic by nature of it being a movie, i concede) we have the murderer being utterly unrepentant towards his victims, which i would argue places him in a state of sin which precludes him from heaven, under ccc 1264—since he’s electing to persist in the manner of a murderer.
do you suppose the thief on the cross was not baptized because christ neglected to hop off the mount and take him to a river?
>do you suppose the thief on the cross was not baptized because christ neglected to hop off the mount and take him to a river?
Do you want to define baptism as something that occurs without the physical application of water?
i’d certainly be willing to say the transformation of the spirit which occurs through baptism does not necessitate water, which 1257-1261 explains
ideally, the sacrament of baptism would always be conducted with the proper rites
>and in that salvation is not possible without baptism
It clearly is which is why you have to make up terms like "baptism of blood" to refer to unbaptized martyrs and such things.
That he fears himself, since he is the Being he worships, but he don't know that.
Baldwin wasn't a wise ruler. He wasn't respected by Saladin, and the Crusader States were not powerful kingdoms. A handful of mercenary rabble exploited the collapse of the Abbasid Caliphate and set up shop in the Levant virtually unopposed.
It's ridiculous how much better the directors cut is vs the theatrical release. Kino spectacular. I'm pretty certain this is eva greens only good performance
They completely cut her characters story out in the theateical, it's crazy. All of a sudden she appears with her hair cut and you're like "wut, why?" without her story being told. Also she was great in Penny Dreadful , top tier possession and schizo scenes. Frick showtime for murdering the downturn trying to bring it back years later with a new cast.
It's already self explainatory brainlet
American pr*testants will NEVER truly understand christianity. Their "religion" is a literal fast food version of it
Catechism of the Catholic Church
818 "However, one cannot charge with the sin of the separation those who at present are born into these communities [that resulted from such separation] and in them are brought up in the faith of Christ, and the Catholic Church accepts them with respect and affection as brothers .... All who have been justified by faith in Baptism are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians, and with good reason are accepted as brothers in the Lord by the children of the Catholic Church."
819 "Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth" are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: "the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements." Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him, and are in themselves calls to "Catholic unity."

It's Christianity but made israelite friendly
This is funny to me because I was a Catholic for 20 years and a Protestant for 2 and learned a million times more about the bible since I've been a Protestant than I ever did as a Catholic. You should just admit that you don't even go to church, you just larp as a Catholic on Cinemaphile as an excuse to be hateful to another group of people.
were you somehow forbidden from reading the bible during your 20 years as a catholic?
What an idiot. Do you need an "epic" LGBT friendly pastor to tell you how to open the Bible and read it??
True. As a Protestant myself, people become Catholic just so they can hate israelites and spew replacement theology

Be quiet, israelites. The entire world after the advent of the israelite is just npc bullshit.
Why do so many Christians hate israelites for killing Jesus when Jesus's death is the most important event in Christianity?
If Jesus didn't suffer on the cross, wouldn't the entire religion just fall apart? Weren't israelites just fulfilling the prophecy? Would there have been an alternate form of Christianity if Jesus died a natural death?
