MC is an ojou girl with extreme black and white morality and the giant is her oath-sister who's a magic user. They're trying to find the people who betrayed them (ojou's ex-girlfriend from the non-isekai world, the giant's clan who left her to die) in order to exact revenge. MC has no powers, can't really fight and lost her left arm at some point after getting isekaied but is basically wrath in human form.
There's a really niche western yuri product I like that stocks all those boxes. It's just a cozy yuri story that is yuri just because it's cute 🙂
I say yuri because visually it's drawn in the anime style, but it's very much a proudly western product, so they're not hiding behind pretending to be foreign.

I see this excuse so often. Isn't it part of the current zeitgeist to challenge and force its way past this kind of thinking? I mean a lot of the lesbian pairings we've seen have essentially been forced and pushed through.
Plus a lot of the places that ban things with gay men in them, also end up banning most of the lesbian stuff, so market excuses don't exactly fly either.
It honestly seems like a lot of the women, especially queer women, in charge just loving pushing lesbianism, and largely avoid giving gay guys their due because of man-hate.
You have to think like a marketing exec, anon, which means you have to think of broad averages. On average, more people would prefer to see two cute girls kissing than two boys. In either case, you generally have women on your side, however only lesbian couples will also appeal to a significant number of men. Everything else is secondary, including the "zeitgeist", because that's just another word for elite-approved culture which is provided to us by marketing firms.

I think you’re both wrong. I think they wanted both Ollie and Andrea’s love interest to be a more gradual thing that gets developed in season 2 and comes to its full fruition in season 3. Not getting a third season made them panic and they then decided to squeeze all of that development into a few eps in season 2
Because while I hate her design, I think if we had been introduced to this character and seen her develop, and THEN have her fall in love with Andrea then it would have actual had a warmer reception with fans

I kind of wish the episode had it more like Andrea believing that since her family business was going under, it would mean she'd get to spend more time with her parents (her father particularly), but finds out that they'd ALWAYS be too busy to do anything with her.
Yeah but I also like how this is the first episode where Molly and Andrea are being genuine friends and hanging out rather than the latter's usual role of being the ditzy rich girl who Molly awkwardly interacts with.

Scratch’s subplot was great, he’s the best part of every episode.
And it did fit the story, both him and Andrea struggle with their identity and both come to the realization that being yourself and be content with that is better than pretending to be something you’re not.

I'm gonna be real with you, anon. I barely remember this show exists sometimes, I don't think it fundamentally changed the rich girl archetype in American animation.
it had 3 seasons of 22 minute episodes and full on narrative continuity and was quite popular among tween girls in the early 2000s. y'know, those girls who are now old enough to be in the industry.
It's genuinely impressive how hard this show shat the bed in season 2. Then again the season 1 finale was also really bad, so it was basically heralding what was to come anyway.

My feelings towards this show are the same towards modern SpongeBob, the right may not be that good or as good as it was in the past but I can at least appreciate and respect for its animation, if anything the show should be a gold standard on how to animate and design your show

I'm not going to hate a character, I'm going to hate the way they were integrated. Ollie could've been a good edition if he rejected Molly's advances (or better there were none at all) and him and June were just sort of jerks that wanted to hunt ghosts and routinely fricked up the girl's adventures. Libby and Andrea were definitely the true ghost friends though. Period Piece should've led to an additional episode where Andrea meets Scratch (the Halloween one seemed like a good time). They absolutely pulled the rug on their fanbase here.
It appears Sammie Crowley and Sam THING are the ones who pulled a Sabrina c**tuggo/Adam Mutto on this show and usurped it from Billy bob who were too weak and set in their male ally ways to stop them.

That being said, some parts of 2A actually weren't that bad. I thought Molly's crush on Ollie was actually played funny in the book sprite episode. It's one of the best episodes of the series imo. There are also some other good or decent season 2 episodes. But after we reached the Halloween special, it definitely felt like there was an even bigger dropoff. Libby's dad episode and this recent Andrea episode were big disappointments.

This insertion is becoming a rather annoying trope, not only for being an animated character within the cartoon world, but also that it influences some characteristic, decision, etc. of some established character in an "intromissory" repercussion of storytelling; And at certain moment it's feeling that it's only because of the "whim" of the staff with less degree of consideration for the story and the audience (although there have also been cases in reverse that also affect)....it's almost being a 'fan insert' in both cases.

The funny thing is that Molly could have won if Bill and Bob cared just a little more. The first season made a good first impression, but alas, that second season burned all the good will away episode by episode. The longer it went along, the worse it got. I get the opposite impression, Molly being into Oliver feels like a demand from the execs especially after a pattern of several post-TOH DTVA protagonists immediately getting hetero love interests. Andrea being bi feels more like it was pressured on by the fans.
I think you’re both wrong. I think they wanted both Ollie and Andrea’s love interest to be a more gradual thing that gets developed in season 2 and comes to its full fruition in season 3. Not getting a third season made them panic and they then decided to squeeze all of that development into a few eps in season 2

I'm not going to hate a character, I'm going to hate the way they were integrated. Ollie could've been a good edition if he rejected Molly's advances (or better there were none at all) and him and June were just sort of jerks that wanted to hunt ghosts and routinely fricked up the girl's adventures. Libby and Andrea were definitely the true ghost friends though. Period Piece should've led to an additional episode where Andrea meets Scratch (the Halloween one seemed like a good time). They absolutely pulled the rug on their fanbase here.

That being said, some parts of 2A actually weren't that bad. I thought Molly's crush on Ollie was actually played funny in the book sprite episode. It's one of the best episodes of the series imo. There are also some other good or decent season 2 episodes. But after we reached the Halloween special, it definitely felt like there was an even bigger dropoff. Libby's dad episode and this recent Andrea episode were big disappointments.

This insertion is becoming a rather annoying trope, not only for being an animated character within the cartoon world, but also that it influences some characteristic, decision, etc. of some established character in an "intromissory" repercussion of storytelling; And at certain moment it's feeling that it's only because of the "whim" of the staff with less degree of consideration for the story and the audience (although there have also been cases in reverse that also affect)....it's almost being a 'fan insert' in both cases.

It doesn't add anything. It's just narcissism and self-indulgence. Insertion is common in all media because a work can a reflection of a person and their experience which can give an interesting outlook to a character and/or a story, but it becomes meaningless when it's just someone wanting to put themselves in something due to vanity.

The first season made a good first impression, but alas, that second season burned all the good will away episode by episode. The longer it went along, the worse it got. I feel no pity for them after the shit they did with the second season. Ollie's introduction is when I knew this show was not worth saving. Then we get the period, climate change, and white guilt episodes. Then we got them completely fricking up Andrea's character. Then they wasted all the subplots because these fricks cannot write for the life of them anymore. Ghost hunters? Megacorp vs. Davenports? The romance between Molly and Ollie? Fricking worthless. I can't fricking this stand this show anymore because of this bullshit knowing they hate their audience

Bill Motz and Bob Roth, I want you both to know this. You guys had the heart of a great concept. You really did. Everything was there to make it one of the best cartoons of all time. Literally everything was fricking there, and what did you do? You had a good first season. You had all the tools there for a second season that would have been a great sequel to the first and evaluated this show into a true modern masterpiece that would be remembered decades from now
But nope, fricking nope. Ollie may have worked, but he doesn't. He's bland as shit and offers nothing interesting as a character. The ghost hunting shit feels like it doesn't matter most of the time. The pacing is shit, everything ends too early and goes on for way too long. None of these plot threads matter until they magically do. Spending too much time on shit nobody cares about old townsfolk and whatever is going on with Geoff. The interesting shit is there, but it is never developed. Do I need to remind how Libby and Andrea, especially the latter, should have way more screentime than they do? The most important characters out of the McGees, for christ's sake. The characters people actually care about. And you do so much boring bland bullshit instead like climate change and body swap episodes? The Wraith ending will fricking seal this show's fate forever. Put it out of it's misery already. I don't care anymore. Kill it already. Every passing episode is worse than the last. So fricking cool Libby's dad episode had to be filled with shitty gags because you can't go one episode without fricking loud annoying shit and boomer humor. This entire series could have been kino if it was made by people who care about storytelling and writing. I hope you remember this. If you decide to make another show somehow, please remember to make a show that can be good and not an utter embarrassment of television
