A lot of new details about the Witch from Mercury suits revealed (by their toys). The Pharact keeps its beam saber in its sleeve and it jumps out as needed.

It's boosters turn into cannons.
it keeps growing on me after not really liking the design at first
however I'll hold out for a rg/mg if the HG's ankles look like that alongside that function
Patience is a virtue
I doubt it'll get an MG unless the show is stupidly successful, even IBO only got the Barbatos.
It only took 15 years to get MG’s of all the season 1 00 gundams
>even IBO only got the Barbatos
Because they decided to have a 1/100 line for the show.
Have two 1/100 scale Barbatos kits out hurt the MGs sales
Yeah that is true but since they put out a proper MG Barbatos, odds are they’ll absolutely reuse that frame for a few more IBO Gundams at the very least. I’d love a Gusion that doesn’t fall apart at the seams.
Unless this show has a dedicated 1/100 line like IBO did, I don’t foresee this guy getting anything other than this HG.
Arguably the best design showed so far.
Its like a mix of sentinel with nagano influences and its great.
its like byarlant had sex with a-taul and had a kid
What is thing gonna have to compete with Psycoframe-tier bullshit and anti-funnel INCOMs?
There's probably something else that hasn't been revealed yet. They waited until the Prologue came out to reveal the funnels and anti-funnel tech on Lfrith and the other one.
probably beats the gimmick and bullshit with sheer skill and experience at the start of the show and slowly loses ground as the mc levels up
simply built different
>Funnels and psychoframe in the prologue episode
Seems like this AU setting is post CCA level tech. They just skipped the OYW rehash and don't know how to feel about that...
It's not like G, Wing, X, 00 or IBO ever had a One Year War analogue in terms of narrative or technology, so that's hardly anything new.
00's technology went from like 20 to 100 when the Trans-Am was introduced and then it didn't let go in S2.
00 also started off at a point where two of the three major power blocs used transformable flying mobile suits as standard (while the third could equip a flight unit to it's standard machine), which is more in line with the Gryps era of UC than anything. Trans-am was also less important to the escalation of technology than Alejandro/Ribbons sharing the GN-X with all 3 world powers, since now all sides had access to flying mobile suits that didn't even need to transform to do so, with beam weapons as standard (beam rifle and beam saber) as well as small beam shields. Meanwhile, multiple people in season one use remote weaponry. All of which points to at least ZZ era mobile suits, if not Char's Counterattack or even beyond (given how common flight was).
Transam was pretty insignificant before Transam burst actually.
Gundam in S1 was super overpowered because conventional weaponries can't damage them (most of the time at least). Once the power blocs obtained beams, they all get bullied to death even with Transam active.
It's just when S2 starts, the Gundam starts being overpowered again for no reason when ALAWS and Innovator suits like Ahead and Gadessa are actually Gundam tier in performance.
Most Gundam shows have a steady power creep before the funnels and super modes show up but Witch is starting at a climax on episode 0 already. Where do they go from here?
It's also at a point where the super mode has negative effects and funnels can be countered from episode 0, so both are probably not going to be all that important to the overall technology curve. Spherical beam shields, quantization, FTL etc. are things that could be used to build on that level of technology just within Gundam.
We're either getting interstellar macross tech levels Gundam where they fight a war spanning the entire solar system, or maybe they have some handicap that forces the Aerial to rely on the more conventional weapons it has. The Gund Arm system could also end up being mass produced and made usable for people who aren't attuned to it like Suletta, leveling the playing field.
AI is another idea I could see the series bringing in, it already feels like its more focused on the sci-fi element than the last few Gundam shows. We haven't really had that since 00.
True, but I meant that in general they never really have cared much about international audiences right as a series is airing, in the past it's usually been a few years later that we get it, or more recently they kinda quietly throw it up on youtube with little fanfare.
wasn't there an increase in gunpla sales in the west due to covid? they could want to strike while the iron is hot.
Oh yeah, I noticed gunpla got a bit popular then too.
Damn shame what it did to gunpla prices.
I keep having regrets about not pulling the trigger on MG Victory and Victory 2 Gundams that were priced at $35-40
To be fair, funnels, bits, psycommu, and ifields are all end of 0079. They're normalized by 0087 and 0088. Where CCA really ramps it up is Axis Shock itself, otherwise there's no real tangible difference between Qubeley and Sazabi funnels other than aesthetics.
It's not like G-Witch is showing G-Reco or Turn-A tier technologies. The cyber prosthetics are probably the singular most advanced technology they showed in the prologue, and even then that puts it at beginning of oo tech.
Boy those child soldiers just keep getting younger
I'm just waiting for the show where the Gundam has an artificial womb and on-board AI teacher (kind of like in Gargantia) so the child soldier can become one literally from the moment it's conceived, and raised as such by the AI (or perhaps two AIs simulating both parental figures), with the womb changing into a wienerpit over time.
This is the only design I like from this show, feels like a Titans design for Zeta that got cut from being animated in the series.
It's an armored core design with a v-fin.
🙂
>It's boosters turn into cannons.
No they don't you drooling moron
The text literally says they're boosters for going backwards
Frick off and die
But can it drift?
stop writing unnecessary and sometimes outright wrong descriptions like some bottom feeder journalist putting together a click bait photo article
Reminds me of the Byarlant Custom
This is a good thing.
that means they remember Captain Earth, this is a good thing
This potential Char-equivalent MS is called Darilbalde and has a javelin.
>Beam hands
HANDS ARE JUST FOR SHOW
Are those some sort of wires in the accessory section? Does it have an included stand?
Look at the back pack. It has a second pair of forearms with no hands.
>Darilbalde
>not piloted by someone called Darryl who's bald
Wasted opportunity.
Why does every AU have to do this bright and colorful shit? It's so hard to take them seriously. It's okay to use brown and grey, Sunrise. UC model kits sell just fine without being crayolapuke.
None of these are regular military units. These are all basically MS manufacturers showing off their latest and greatest at the academy. The closest we have for a regular military unit is from the prologue, and it's appropriately drab
Those feet like like they'll be problematic on the gunpla.
If they make one. But it'll probably just be like the HG Masurao. Or Brave if they wanna go double jointed.
The RX-78 backpack is really out of place
Ass thrusters too. So I guess those are swappable equipment. Maybe we'll see more variants as the show inevitably have conflicts with the regular military.
Considering it’s set like fifteen years alter they’ve probably been replaced
So surplus black market Heingras in the hands of PMCs and pirates then. Would make for a good reason for everybody in the academy to team up.
>what are Char's salmon customs
>what are Goufs
>Gun Cannon is literally bright red all over
stop trying to sound old by b***hing about non-issues that's always been in gundam, go look for your call of duty aesthetics elsewhere.
>bright and colorful
I think you should get your eyes checked
Are you mentally ill or just blind?
>muh dark and gritty
in a future setting where sensors do half the work for you spotting shit in the void of space the only two reasonable choices are
A: go full landsknecht to show pride in your faction and intimidate your enemies
B: dazzle camo in a hope that it'll trick old type's visual reaction times
r*dar and it's consequences have been a disaster for war/fa/re
The only colorful ones are either tech demonstrators or the personal property of rich idiots
Nice bait. Titans' mobile suit roster is basically a circus.
kinda, most Earthanoid Titan suits are either in the Titan's colours or more traditional military tones. Usually it's the not-zeon suits that get the bright colours
Jovian suits are when it starts getting goofy
homie, have you SEEN Late U.C? Shit's a fricking freak show.
Frick your mud shooter shit, It'll be too soon if I never see another thing with a drab palette like that.
You best remember what you're talking about started from, you big dummy. Gundam is literally about technicolored robots the size of office buildings, always
Aside from it being inately toyetic in nature colorful or "unique" paintjobs aren't exactly a foreign concept to military/combat craft. You can find some pretty outlandish paintjobs on WWI aircraft for example
The DiLanza can turn 360 degrees.
I didn't like the Dilanza at first but this is growing on me
Those legs look like fat folds, it's hilarious.
I have to say I'm not feeling Ippei Gyoubu's designs so far, they don't have much individuality and I just feel like I've seen it before from him. But that probably comes with the territory of being asked to make a direct Zaku knockoff multiple times.
I'm really not digging this design.
The feather is really out of place. What the frick is this, escaflowne?
and the choice of color doesnt make it better.
What bird did they pluck that feather from even
https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/70959-longest-feathers
The longest feather on record was 10.5 meters in length, which I'm pretty sure that feather isn't longer than. There are a good few birds with tail feathers a meter or more in length on average.
> AU
Gundam has always been bright and colorful crayolapuke. There are some more moderately colored units in any given Gundam show, but they are almost always the mass produced grunts in every show, UC or AU.
I know people are giving this design crap, but I like it! The only thing I'm not really a fan of is the weapon, the beam effect looks really cheap and toylike.
The Zaku equivalent kit has parts so that you can modify it. One is just the normal DiLanza, and the other is the custom machine of a currently unrevealed character.
How is this one a Zaku equivalent? I don't need anything Zaku related. Other than the axe.
It's the main grunt.
>asymetrical shield shoulder pad
>half thigh skirt on round thunderthighs
>central antennae
>chest looks like something a Zaku III would have
>funky clog feet
>rank and file for a royal family
Frick you
>Scopedog finally in Gundam
Its growing on me
That’s just the space harrier dom
You'll be happy to know this fella exists
>Flipper kits never ever
>something that'd make money
>never
Bandai will profit off of reasonably distinct MS eventually, especially as it becomes easier for them to make more advanced kits. I tell ya, the kids in a decade will be building HGs with all those parts lighting up (light-up kit sold separately).
>I tell ya, the kids in a decade will be building HGs with all those parts lighting up (light-up kit sold separately).
Bandai already makes LED kits for MGs, and there's the light up RG Unicorn, and third party manufacturers are making smaller and smaller LED kits all the time. It's only a matter of time at this point.
i didn't notice the wheel feet before, I am warming up to this little guy
Miorine is cute.
Why are the boots removable?
Do you know what a fetish is?
Because there's gonna be half an episode worth of Miorine running around in her pantyhose. The P-Bandai would be the torn and battered version.
she's probably gonna have some weird quirk like she prefers to walk around the battleship barefoot or something
maybe it'll give them an excuse to draw a still shot of her feet up close to the camera
Definitely tsundere yuri can. Forget the feud between the three factions of the Beneritt Group, this is a shipping war for Suletta between Elan or Mio!
quite so
I wonder why someone other than Suletta is using the Gund Arm system.
Pharact is freakin rad. It’s rifle is groovy.
>what if Byalant was Gendum
I always saw that more as the Xi, but I see where you're coming from
I like this one the most, I hope it doesn't job
it has the prettiest boy as its pilot and it's a gundam, that should count for something.
Damn
He cute
i love this twink and his mech.
Oh he's going to die for sure.
He'll come back in the second season as the mysterious Mr. Samurai
I have zero faith. The character I'm most attracted to in every Gundam series dies.
has jobber written all over it
No way
It's coming out in October alongside the Aerial, so he will probably the first student humiliated by Suletta.
he's the never accepts defeat archetype
so yes and no
>not even watermelons
poser
the feet look so moronic
they are circles. frick these designs
This thing is hideous but I like that it has a spear. We need more beam-spears.
Most of these are a little too goofy for my taste but hopefully they'll look alright in animation.
Guess they're gonna wait to spin up the marketing machine and then post it, but man is it getting annoying. It's not like the unsubbed version is hard to find, I wish they'd just post the subbed one and get it over with.
We've seen that one in animation.
I guess Miorine's things will be legs.
>another vapid doll who gardens
Don’t talk shit about rice rie
Which one does she pilot?
my dick
cute
I'm most excited for these two
Getting some big GM Carnard vibes. Nice.
Oh this ones a boy, neat!
no need to be sad, dude
>when the zeta opening hits THAT part
The grunt designs literally look like the mock army knockoff gunpla from Build Fighters.
They aren't grunts, they're training robots. The grunts are:
It's a sumo holy shit
Have they even shown what suit Fabio Al Raheed is piloting?
Yeah, but they don't have a Gunpla sample yet.
Oh, he gets the Ebikawa design. Guess it's Exigyan.
Amongst all these designs, I'll say it's good to see the return of head vulcans.
I don't like it when the mechs don't have a shared aesthetic. Pharact looks cool but doesn't look like it belongs in the same series as aerial.
The show's main gimmick is that there are many MS manufacturers competing with each other. It's like a big war of Anaheim Electronics expies.
So the main theme is Arms race?
Yeah, the Prologue makes it very clear. Although Bandai hasn't properly released it yet because they're dumb.
arms race, r&d and highschool anime
also have my money on it being a coming of age/learning to make friends thing
That reminds me of Classroom Crisis.
Pharact is a Gundam made by stealing tech from Lfrith, so it makes sense why it doesn't share the same aesthetic except for the forehead lines and patterns.
So far all the MS that came from the same faction shares the same aesthetic. Beguir-Beu, Michaelis, Heingra and the trainer MSs are made by Grassley in-universe and are all designed by Ebikawa.
Lfrith and Aerial in-universe are made by Ox and IRL designed by JNTHED.
The Dilanzas are made by Jeturk which are Gyoubu's designs.
Pharact is associated with Peil Technologies in universe and are designed by Inata. It seems to share some aesthetics with Darilbalde here, though I was thinking this was a Gyoubu design at the start.
Holy frick this is just a Gundam show with Armored Core 4's premise, now I'm excited.
Where are you getting these
If Nineball shows up as the mid-season boss that would be bully
When is the last time a Gundam had a green beam saber. Epyon?
The X line of Gundams in Gundam X (so X, X-Divider and Double X) had green beam sabers too, but basically all the Gundams in Turn A (all one of them), SEED, Destiny, 00, AGE, G-Reco and even the various Build shows all had either pink or red beam sabers so far as I recall or can see on a quick search. The Aegis Gundam in SEED did have yellow beam sabers, and the Reborns Gundam's beam saber in 00 was more of an orange but it looked red at times too. Still, no green in those shows from recollection.
Which is the Char clone suit?
This thing
I guess
I want a model kit for the Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production model!!!
frick, only MS I like in this lame witch high school series and it is abandoned
Pbandai
> Series hasn't even started yet
> Bandai have barely even begun marketing it
> Time to whine about them not favoring me!
>We will never get a Witch-specific game with all the cool grunt and side MS playable
>Only crossover VShit from now until forever
There was a copyright registered for Witch from Mercury for games.
But it’ll probably just be SD Gundam and Versus
Realistically the next EXVS suit they're showing off on stream with the game changes will be Lfrith as a 2k.
Gundam over watch DLC
Reminder that Pharact's designer also worked on Armored Core for Answer.
So we get the episode sometime today, right?
Are they finally showing it with subs?
Depends on what day the bandai/sunrise panel is
the panel is in 6-ish hours
nice.
Is this the first time Gundam's been premiered at SDCC?
I don't remember this being in the rollout for IBO.
They are really going hard with the international audience for this one, it's exciting.
It was premiered in Japan first, to be fair.
In the SDCC panel they said that they will upload the Prologue to Gundam Info at a later date, but they didn't say when. They also confirmed a simulcast, but that was obvious since every Gundam since IBO has been simulcasted.
What else did they say?
Not a lot was new or different from the AX VIP panel except they showed the Prologue and a bunch more Gunpla.
Thanks.
New gunpla or just more shots and displays of the previous announcements?
It'a good that Gundam is accessible for free.
But on the other hand it feels like they don't give a shit about how good will the anime do because their main revenue is from the plamo sales.
>for free
You know you must pay for most streaming services, right?
Gundaminfo is on YouTube dipshit
There's no reason for Gundam to join the pointless BD ranking circlejerk. Or I guess streaming viewers nowadays.
They've never cared about BD sales or even ticket sales, even when they sell well. It's been that way for a long time. Their sole goal is to make an entertaining commercial that moves plastic crack.
Then wtf was doan’s island about ?
testing to see if a completely adapted origins would sell well but not really lol
But they didn’t even sell anything to test
Yaz wanted to tackle an old regret before he retired.
Making a fun movie for the family.
Actually AGE started the simulcast era, though it was YouTube only and blocked in some regions.
>
>they will upload the Prologue to Gundam Info at a later date, but they didn't say when.
>at a later date
SOMEONE FRICKING SUB IT ALREADY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Subs are up now on nyaa.si and other places.
So what kind of civilization developed on Mercury? I always thought the planet was too harsh for any kind of colony. It does have a lot of advantages though in terms of energy availability and resources if humans find a way to live there.
This is so funny without context, why is she called a witch?
Because I'm almost certain it's being told from her perspective as a villain like Geass, seems to me that it's Gundam through the eys of a Char clone.
> Not blonde
> No (physical) mask
> Doesn't pilot the red suit
> No long lost sibling
Nah, no Char there.
>Dead father killed by the father of one of the students at the academy she's going to
>Attending said academy under an alias
I don't think she's gonna be a 1:1 traditional Char clone but I'm not expecting a traditonal Gundam protag either. Like I said something more akin to Code Geass.
It IS being written by the Code Geass write after all.
Exactly
>It IS being written by the Code Geass write after all.
Oh, gross. I'm out.
>Still pretending Code Geass is bad
>2k63 - 41
Never change /m/ongoloids.
The only "people" that think Code Gayass is in any way remotely good are teenage fat girls and literal children.
Which one are you?
Seems to me that the only child here is you anon. You do know you have to be 18 to post here right?
So you're a teenage fat girl, got it.
If you consider origin her piloting a MS at a young age is similar to Char hopping in the guntank.
They actually explain this in the Prologue and there it's part of one of the shows motifs/themes.
So what is the reason?
They use the banned (aka "herertic") Gund Arm technology.
because as a 4 year old she killed people using Gund-Arm tech (equivalent of Psycomu).
I mean, I think killing people by moving things with your mind to fire lazers sounds like society would label you a witch/freakshow/esper.
Eh, same old same old.
Just like how Gundam was called the White Devil and such.
Rifle blades are cool
Some doomposters here and there are like
>where's the hype? No one is talking about it!
but there's nothing more to talk until the series release. The prologue was easy to undestand even without subs but at the same time it adds so little information to the official synopsis
watching the prologue's current rip also hurts your eyes so I don't recommend it to anyone.
>suits operate off of a neural interface
>said neural interface has a forbidden super power-up mode that dangerously strains its human pilot
>MC can operate the neural interface better than anyone else at a baseline but will no doubt push it even further beyond into dangerous territories when push comes to shove
Of all the things they had to lift from IBO, it's this shit.
At least they went with a Trans-am aesthetic instead of edgy glowing eyes
Wing did it first
The Zero System isn't a neural interface, anymore than the biocomputer was. It is a super system with dangerous side effects, but then, the Nobel Gundam in G had that tol; and the dangers of both could be avoided entirely with training and awareness. There was probably something that predated both in Gundam manga too.
Tech Guides say Zero System was a mental interface operated by thought, and allowed the pilot to feel the strain on the suit as well.
It's effectively the exact same system.
Tech guides can say what they like, but it's obvious bunk because the Wing Zero has no actual neural interface. The Epyon arguably does, with the helm; but the Wing Zero doesn't and even if you wanted to argue that the Wing Zero just has sensors around the wienerpit to pick up the pilot's thoughts or something, Heero was able to transplant the Zero System into the Sandrock using a floppy disk to put some new software on it. Which means it's software only, and not hardware i.e. no mental interfaces.
Even then, you could make much the same argument about the Nobel Gundam anyway, since it's berserker system obviously controls the pilot's mind to some degree; which requires a neural interface. It's externally controlled, but we at least see it in the case of the Nobel Gundam.
Honestly that always seemed like a kinda dumb asspull in the Sandrock. Like how is a software based ZERO system doing it's thing, flashing tactical analysis on a screen REALLY HARD at the pilot?
But I always thought ZERO was a one way system not a control scheme.
The really silly thing is that at one point we see Heero working on the unit, and there's an entire computer bank for the Zero System in the Wing Zero rather than just some software that can fit on a couple of floppy disks (even future ones) that Heero asks Howard to install on the Sandrock Custom. Not only that, but when Quatre goes to disable the Zero System in the next episode, he does so by taking some hardware out of the Sandrock Custom's wienerpit. So there is hardware after all, but it's a rather small bit that doesn't even require making any obvious changes to the wienerpit, the installation of any major sensor equipment that'd stand out so that Quatre would have noticed it when he boarded the Sandrock Custom, instead of Heero having to tell him etc.
It looks like White Fang can fit the entire Zero System in a helmet at one point too. Yet Quatre still struggles to control himself when using even the minimally installed Zero System, so it's not even like it's just a part of the system that doesn't affect the pilot's mind or anything, and Quatre is happy to remove it next episode rather than rely on it due to the dangers it presents. The Zero System is basically whatever the plot or animators want, and is both hardware and software, a big bank of computers and a tiny compartment of them etc.
Shit, meant to post this webm; sorry. Although, that other webm does highlight something I noticed while looking for scenes; which is that the Gundam pilots (including Zechs) apparently can type in shorthand and use keyboards similar to a court transcriber, with only 8 or so keys that can input the full alphabet, since Quatre uses one with only 9 keys (if I recall) to input the word "ZERO" and activate the Zero System.
The Wing MS, or at least the Gundams, could all just have some kind of rudimentary psycommu integrated into them, and the Zero system is just a program that uses that psycommu to send feedback to the pilot.
Or the floppy could be just a version of the Zero System while the Wing Zero/Epyon have the complete system.
