She's waaaaaaay out her depth with the assignment. Her bosses should have told Brolin's character that she wasn't ready and that she would ruin the mission and get herself killed.
It’s kind of hard to believe they would have such a hard time finding someone happy to sign off on their shit. Unless of course there was more risk than their seemed to be and she was the patsy for anything that happened.
But a seasoned agent would himself have been a glowBlack person. Unless they wanted some clueless rube, but that person would always be at risk to act out like she did.

If she ups and murders him in public and they identify the body, then yeah. He was at her apartment to get her to sign documents stating the mission she was part of was legal for the CIA to conduct.

If she ups and murders him in public Kate loses her job and the whole thing gets buried. They would never EVER admit any involvement with him.

I think that was kind of misleading, Brolin’s character clarified that he will work for anyone that will send him after the men that killed his wife and daughter. I think we can extrapolate that at first a Colombian Cartel “sponsored” his activities before the CIA took notice of him and his potential as an asset.
she's a perfect female character >gets manhandled by every single man she fights in the movie >driven by emotions and consistently makes dumb decisions
the ones that are complaining about her character missed the point of the movie entirely.
I liked the part when Daniel Kaluuya did a bad job acting
This scene sums up just how fricking moronic Kate is. She's incompetent from the first scene to the last.
She's waaaaaaay out her depth with the assignment. Her bosses should have told Brolin's character that she wasn't ready and that she would ruin the mission and get herself killed.
Someone out of their depth is far easier to manipulate than a seasoned agent who could smell glowie bullshit a mile away.

She was chosen because she had no experience doing anything but shooting Mexicans and operating a tac team, they thought she would be on board
Yeah, a man would just murder a fricking CIA agent in public it's totally fine.
Alejandro isn't CIA.
are you sure about that?
Considering it's explicitly stated that he works for the Medellin cartel? Yes.
Which publicly, the CIA would not admit to and will assert that he's a CIA agent.

>she was the patsy
Probably this.

Yeah, he’s an independent asset utilized by the CIA
>shoots a colleague in the back from her elevated porch
yeah that'll go over well at the office
she looks extremely ugly
or perhaps he's wondering why she didn't shoot a man, before letting him walk away
for you
in the op pic? yeah, she kinda is supposed to look like shit after her whole worldview came crashing down.
>"Hola, Sicario. Yo onions Operator."
thought this line was pretty on the nose
A man would have been on board from the beginning
kate as a character works perfectly in the context of the film. without her, it wouldn't nearly be certified kino.
maybe
she's a perfect female character

And at that distance, probably miss and make himself look like moron or maybe ricochet and hit someone else.
