Black person, I was 17/18 when the Venture Bros first aired, I turn 39 in September. I just want this shit to end so I can the book on it for good.
Ending will be serviceable but nothing genuinely satisfying. Those two hipster gays creators love dragging their feet and pussy footing around.
Oh totally. It lost any cultural legacy in like 2010 and by then really wore out its welcome. The kind of ironic and sarcastic satire of heroes was new at the time, but now it's cliche. MCU and other super heroe series do the same damn thing. Just makes me roll my eyes going "uh, just make a straight story without any jokes or winking at the audience."
Imagine if the venture bro hipsters and the Boondocks hipsters teamed up with some anime studio to produce some kind of super hero story? Not something with 12 levels of irony, just something more straight forward, and maybe a gag here or there? It'd be huge!

That's Purely on Adult Swim. They gave the merchandising rights away to Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick and once it became big AS felt they were losing out on money and always waited until the last possible moment to renew. They've said in the past they had season scripts ready to go, but AS wouldn't actually greenlight the seasons for years at a time, and the only reason they did that was because Comedy central had an open invitation and they didn't want to lose the rights.
Like every great cartoon on AS, AS killed it. At least we're getting something.
The creators should have ended it instead of milking it for literal decades.

Yes, season 1 is kinda eh since they're finding their footing besides "Johnny Quest, but grown up with PTSD" but nearing the end of that season and beyond it really becomes a extremely solid show.
the background paintings in season 1 are terrible in particular. show really looks great when they upgrade to hd

All This and Gargantua 2 is maybe the best episode they ever made, I'm sure they can pull off something great. Really, all they need to do is resolve the Rusty-Monarch relationship and the Dean-Hank relationship. The hardest part will be giving all of the secondary characters a satisfying curtain call

I think it took long because they had to wait to get money to pay for expensive animation instead of cheap animation

They sent the animation to Korea. They did all the writing themselves so that's why it took a long time too.
