No, Ming should have unironically been the protagonist >more interesting back story >more interesting conflict >not a complete selfish c**t like Mei >cooler transformation >better visual design >only sexy character in the movie
Gross picture in OP aside, this actually was kind of the opinion of critic Walter Chaw, who thought Mei's magical mystical story was too stereotypical. He wanted to hear about Abby's mom's hairdressing life.
Nah man. It should have been the Indian nerd with the hella ass. Look at this caked up shawty carryin' around the whole bakery. Double cheeked up hella ass on a Tuesday afternoon like it's nothing.
So she's one of the main character's main friends. That kind of side character. Alright, that sounds promising. I've found I usually have a fondness for Indian girls and the shots and fan art of her I've seen really do it for me. Thanks anons.
Hyein Park did a good job of voicing Abby. Great work for a Pixar story artist who became a voice actor. Up there with Bob Peterson and Ronnie Del Carmen.
I guess the outfit was too much for this character, and Mei would never dress in such immodest clothing.
I think the reasoning given by the makers of the movie was that Domee Shi wasn't as rebellious as this version so they rolled it back to something more true to her life.
I guess the outfit was too much for this character, and Mei would never dress in such immodest clothing.
The concept version definitely looks way cooler but Mei's actual design is much more in line with her character, if anything she'd probably start wearing that outfit in a sequel or something.
If you sent this picture back in time, it would have killed CGI animation before it ever started.
Its intentional and meant to look idiotic because it's a movie about the moronic shit people did during puberty, you're both fricking moronic. Grow up.

I agree it's an intentionally exaggerated scene. It's a fantasy from Mei's mind.
How did goths look back then? Old pics I've seen show the stereotypical all black look and the more preppy late 2000s purple, red and green with black and giant hair look.
It was a mix of just black clothes and makeup and flat out Halloween costumes. The emo look wasnt a thing yet. Most weren't full dying their hair, it was mostly wigs for that. In fact, I'd say it was still a time when goths could take off the outfit and presentably go to work if it was needed. There were piercings, though, that I remember.
I was in my early 20s at the time, fyi.
And they should have stuck to that metaphor and ended with the concert instead of an annoying spirit explanation and kaiju battle just to turn it into a Disney movie last minute.
Depends if you make the conflict more about if they could earn the money or not. Which is also a relatable thing. Sure arguing with your mother is also relatable but the entire finale with that "epic" battle just lost me.
Well I personally loved the Kaiju stuff. Basically everything about the last 30 minutes of the movie was top notch for me.

Ok. I'd have preferred a boring slice of life coming out of age movie. To be fair though, it misses several plot points to be that. Or more like, the characters "aren't there" yet.

yeah I can dig Whisper of the Heart too. But Turning Red's whole conceit is turning into a big mystical beast so it would just be entirely different to be a movie like a Ghibli coming of age flick. Oh, maybe you're suggesting the origin of the Panda stuff should be unexplained? Like different in that way?

>Oh, maybe you're suggesting the origin of the Panda stuff should be unexplained?
Yes, leave that one open. It didnt really need an explanation it imo. The "rules" of the transformation was explained before. Or have that fight, but leave all the spirit world stuff out and have them discuss the issue until they calm down (like Goof Troop). Maybe have the mother remember a moment where she can relate.
I just want to know what was her intention in making these weird faces? She's dressed in a cute dress and seems to care somewhat about her appearance, so why?
No, Ming should have unironically been the protagonist
>more interesting back story
>more interesting conflict
>not a complete selfish c**t like Mei
>cooler transformation
>better visual design
>only sexy character in the movie
If they absolutely have to make another, Ming Prequel would be kinda cool
Yeah I've said many times that a Godfather Part II style movie (sequel and prequel in one) could be interesting.
Domee Shi is making another Pixar feature (that presumably is not a continuation of Turning Red though)
>not a complete selfish c**t like Mei
Uh no, the twinks band are sexy too
I said this before but there should be a prequel about Mings story, it's just way more interesting and cute.
An amazing tale about how someone adapted to Asian society and repressed all of her own needs.
A Disney fairytale.
Gross picture in OP aside, this actually was kind of the opinion of critic Walter Chaw, who thought Mei's magical mystical story was too stereotypical. He wanted to hear about Abby's mom's hairdressing life.
>Abby's mom's hairdressing life
Wait what?
Abby's mom is a hairdresser. Works at the salon. On Devon's hair. This is a throwaway line of dialogue.
I see
Imagine the Zootopia version of Turning Red.
Like this?
No, see, it would be about a red panda turning into a human.
>That Gigantic parody.
>tfw there will never be a Disney trailer set to Pixie's "Gigantic"
a naked human?
Nah man. It should have been the Indian nerd with the hella ass. Look at this caked up shawty carryin' around the whole bakery. Double cheeked up hella ass on a Tuesday afternoon like it's nothing.
Still plenty of time.
She's just HAULING THAT FRICKING DUMP TRUCK BEHIND HER EVERYWHERE SHE GOES.
braaaaaaap
Haven't seen the movie yet. Is she a main character in it or just a side one? I really like her look.
She's a side character. Not like a background character, though. The thing about her is she doesn't talk as much as Abby or Miriam.
So she's one of the main character's main friends. That kind of side character. Alright, that sounds promising. I've found I usually have a fondness for Indian girls and the shots and fan art of her I've seen really do it for me. Thanks anons.
She's one of the three main friends.
Hyein Park did a good job of voicing Abby. Great work for a Pixar story artist who became a voice actor. Up there with Bob Peterson and Ronnie Del Carmen.
>"Mine called it stripper music! What's wrong with that?"
hey there's the Luxo Jr. Ball that floats in Tyler's pool in his backyard but presumably no one wants to swim in May in Toronto.
I can actually see them all growing up to be hot someday.
>Fat, possibly lesbian, goblin should've been the protagonist of [MODERN DISNEY FILM].
Sure, sounds exactly what thevy've been doing for the last few years to try and get you excited for [PRODUCT]
Nah it's Priya who's the lesbian, not Abby
>The only kind of passable girl in the movie is probably a lesbian.
Ok.
Or she could be bi. She doesn't seem averse to wiener but they absolutely implied she was flirting with the goth chick.
She looks like she grinds her pussy against the desk corner.
they're underage girls
No, anon. they're fictional characters in a computer generated animated film. Know the difference.
yet you only care because it's a female.
Shes def bi with how shes also into 4town guys
Bisexual.
She has a thing for one of the 4Town singers.
and Devon.
>Short
>Fat
>Ugly
Nah, the only thing she's missing is a plaid shirt and a subaru and she's on her way to beocome a grade A+ lesbian.
>plaid shirt
what, like Miriam wears?
Abby is straight
how can you guys be pedo perving on this movie when there's a prime milf right there for the taking?
Ming's got issues. And no social skills.
Ming is neurotic, emotionally dysfunctional, and evidently failed to seriously mature past the age of 12.
She's about as good for your health as toxic waste
oh hey I remember you from the old-time Turning Red threads. the /k/ anon
>tfw Turning Red was the last Pixar or WDAS movie to get over 95% critics approval on rotten tomatoes.
rotten tomatoes is now paid by corporations, I wouldn't trust their scores one way or another
It's jointly owned by Warner Bros and Universal, yes. Been owned by a studio or two since 2011.
What could've been
I think the reasoning given by the makers of the movie was that Domee Shi wasn't as rebellious as this version so they rolled it back to something more true to her life.
The concept version definitely looks way cooler but Mei's actual design is much more in line with her character, if anything she'd probably start wearing that outfit in a sequel or something.
>we want the early 00's Gorillaz' Noodle audience
I guess the outfit was too much for this character, and Mei would never dress in such immodest clothing.
>Mei would never dress in such immodest clothing.
Nah, better give everyone on the street an upskirt shot.
Do you think she has the fabled Chinese sideways dicky?
>wearing completely opaque leggings
>upstart shot
go play based tradcath cuck on twitter you homosexual
and no panty line what can I make of it?
this movie is gross to look at and reminds me of the powerpuff girls reboot
it has pedophile vibes all over it
>it has pedophile vibes all over it
It was made by women, anon. Are you suggesting that they're pedos?
Are you suggesting that women can't be pedos?
No, I know women can do anything, but I don't know if Domee Shi created this movie expressly for the perverts. Like she wanted people to fap at Mei.
Movie looks mid but the dicky seems okay.
all of those girls are too fricking cute.
pixar knew what they were doing
>pixar knew what they were doing
which is...?
cute girls
>cute girls
Anon, this are the worst designs Pixar did for a human.
And yeah, I'm including both Tin Toy and Toy Story's humans in this.
If you sent this picture back in time, it would have killed CGI animation before it ever started.

Theyre cute i dont know what drugs your on
Post the goth chick.
here you go
slampig
Me on the left
you were the emo boy the girls liked?
why are they all obese? is eating lard the new cutting yourself?
My memories of 2002 are hazy, but did go to hot topic back then and I don't remember goths looking like this.
How did goths look back then? Old pics I've seen show the stereotypical all black look and the more preppy late 2000s purple, red and green with black and giant hair look.

You frickers only like this child because she's got the only passably nice-looking face in a movie full of otherwise ugly visages.
hey mods hey hey mods . do your job
She throws bottles at her trailer park
Will you accept a Turning Red skirt?
a corduroy skirt huh. Guess it makes more sense than the Turning Red girls underwear I saw on clearance once.
What did they mean by this?
And they should have stuck to that metaphor and ended with the concert instead of an annoying spirit explanation and kaiju battle just to turn it into a Disney movie last minute.
wait what. What do you mean, "end with the concert", Just going to a boy band concert wouldn't necessarily make a great ending.
Depends if you make the conflict more about if they could earn the money or not. Which is also a relatable thing. Sure arguing with your mother is also relatable but the entire finale with that "epic" battle just lost me.

>Red All Over

Her in real life
I didn't know Dom DeLuise had a daughter
I just want to know what was her intention in making these weird faces? She's dressed in a cute dress and seems to care somewhat about her appearance, so why?
And my god, I can't stand vaping.
Someone gave Amy some drugs, she sees she's on camera and she's overdoing the reactions, lol.
For me it's Miriam
I really want her to suck me.
fatty fatty spank spank
