Apparently ex-dark universe film retooled to a standalone: >The project was later stated to have originally been titled the same as the source it's based on, Dracula's Daughter;[3] while Universal restated that while they had considered a singular continuity with The Mummy (2017), each release will continue to be "rooted in the horror genre, with no restrictions on budget, rating or genre.
>Should stick with Dracula's Daughter title.
It's insane they didn't, I can't even imagine what their reasoning was.
No. It flopped because it was a garbage cop action 'comedy' (not funny at all) with Dracula shoehorned in it. All Dracula moments were 10/10 but the rest of movie sucked ass.
itll probably have some good horror scenes in it but the plot is >The film focuses on a group of kidnappers who capture and must watch over Abigail, the daughter of the most powerful underworld figure for the $50 million ransom, until they get more than what they bargain for when Abigail reveals her true nature as a vampire child, hunting them down one by one.[1]
Wikipedia says it was considered to be in same continuity as The Mummy with Tom Cruise. What is going on? Did they really kill that universe only to release same crap just outside of shared universe?
No longer rumors. Dark Universe is officially back, at least in theme park form for now. Mostly likely moves may still happen soon. However it won't be like marvel anymore. They want unique takes on each monster with no crossovers but still set in same monster universe so they can eventually connect some monsters but no plans for big team up.

Is everything girl bosses and female subverted
Chick Sherlock Holes
Chick Jedi in Star Wars
Chick Mad Max movie with no Mad Mad
Chick True Detective
Chick Dracula
Chick Spider Man
Chick Mummy
this started as a dark universe film following the mummy with cruise so makes sense. no idea why they are doing these as standalione now if its same shit just with no shared universe gimmick
Wasn't vampire kids use ambushes or emotional traps. I mean running water and cross could do the damage also mirrors. Besides wasn't killing is not necessary for vampires.
>soulless piss filter look >bad acting >generic looking zoomer tweens >forced diversity >paced for people with ADD >musical score unmemorable
I hate modern cinema so much it's unreal.
Universal is moronic. Another shitty standalone Dracula flick leading nowhere after Renfield and Last Voyage of The Demeter and that origin story with Chris Evans.
Give other monsters a chance!
Frankenstein, Gillman, or maybe Phantom of the Opera.. c'mon last movie is from 2004. It's 20 years old already.
I don't care if it's dark universe or not. I want to see other monsters than motherfricking Dracula.
It's time for Phantom of the Opera starring Michael Fassbender.
>it’s another “Cinemaphile likes a shit movie because it has a scantily clad underage girl in it” episode
You sick fricks are so predictable
I don't like it. I expected Melissa to play Drac's daughter. Trailer suggests total garbage while the original film was pretty cool and eerie.
Also why the frick they called it Abigail? This is going to flop like Renfield because nobody knows these. Should stick with Dracula's Daughter title.
>Should stick with Dracula's Daughter title.
It's insane they didn't, I can't even imagine what their reasoning was.
reminded me why in the blu frick they called that movie with nicholas cage playing dracula "reinfield"
They're traumatized by the last Dracula movie and think that any horror movie called Dracula will be seen as old dated and boring by modern audiences.
No, i am actually being serious.
god, i fricking hate movie suits
Renfield flopped because the trailers made it look like that support group was gonna be some huge part of the movie
No. It flopped because it was a garbage cop action 'comedy' (not funny at all) with Dracula shoehorned in it. All Dracula moments were 10/10 but the rest of movie sucked ass.
It flopped because it got 0 marketing.
>scantily clad
woo
You had me at:
>scantily clad underage girl in
>scantily clad underage girl
somebody make webms please, I'm still not watching this shit.
I don't know what to tail you anon, I've got a type.
Gay.
Gonna flop, name one monster movie that hasn't and israelites will boycott it because main actress thinks Pali lives matter. FACT!
>name one monster movie that hasn't
Godzilla minus one
I don't think dracula untold actually did that awfully in the grand scheme of things either
visually it looks good but the plot sounds moronic
Good, more stupid movies please.

i dont know
read a few months ago rumors about the dark universe being back on

Looks stupid
so it's basically you're next/ready or not but with vampires instead?

It's like they want all these movies to bomb.
ex cinematic universe or not, i'm more prone to watch something called dracula's daughter over abigal
>black guy dies in the beginning
thats a no from me, universal.
Is everything girl bosses and female subverted
Chick Sherlock Holes
Chick Jedi in Star Wars
Chick Mad Max movie with no Mad Mad

The original film was from 1930s. This is just another reboot but looks lame.
>the fricking marvel tier humor
Im so fricking sick of this shit
this started as a dark universe film following the mummy with cruise so makes sense. no idea why they are doing these as standalione now if its same shit just with no shared universe gimmick

>Abigail
>not about a newlywed couple at an old mansion dealing with a ghost who is possessing the wife
How did the association of the name "Abigail" with cursed/demonic children start?
The Bible. Abigail was one of Davids wives.
What else has the hot chick been in??? She looks familiar
that's a child you sick frick
SHE'S ONLY A 19 YEAR OLD PRETENDING TO BE 15 YOU SICM FRICK
SHE'S ONLY 17 DECADES OLD YOU SICK FRICK
Look at us making a movie that doesn't take itself seriously at all aren't we brave and funny.
No, it's cowardly and boring.
I find it hilarious that Megan created a whole subgenre of little killer girls that dance as a main draw. KEK.
What's next? Dancing killer scout boys?
Based M3GAN
this is a subgenre with great potential and a huge untapped market
Zoomslop
ooh noo haha don't catch me and suck me off hahah oh noooo :DD
Is that a little girl... break dancing? OH SHIT RUN!
DEAR LORD, SHE IS DOING THE ROBOT WALK!

It's Swan Lake, Op.20 by Tchaikovsky. You know, the one used in the 1931 original Dracula movie.
Oh boy, yet another trailer that reveals the entire movie.
And I like how even though Dan Stevens only said 3 lines you can tell he does not give a shit about this flick.
you know you can just...not...watch the trailer...right?

Ok but why a ballerina. That's weird.
