Yeah, I don't know if they got a new writer or something, but a few seasons in it's revealed that ACTUALLY the motivation for the main character is that his boyfriend who he fricked in the ass a lot was killed.
It goes from a story of revenge and duty, to "the man who ate shit from my butthole was killed, I am sad"

Avoid it, honestly. It's shit.
Alright, let me the Devil's advocate here, how do you make a character like Finn realistic otherwise? He's basically a "Lawful Good" pirate (I know it's reddit to use DnD alignment but you know what I mean), so there had to be a reason that was both something he cared about immensely AND illegal at the time that got him onto the path of piracy. He's kind of the only gay character where it's used as a valid plot point that I can think of.
No.
I am not going to engage in, or pretend that I "have" to have a reason to not like homosexuals in media where they don't belong.
Frick off and take your love of gays with you.
>Don't listen to him
Oh fricking hell the homosexuals have arrived. They're even complaining about women lol.
tl;dr don't watch the show. It's got homosexuals and women as the focus instead of pirates and piracy.
I’ll be honest, I low key believe there needs to be more trans representation in the show. We need some characters that have undergone gender reassignment surgery & are on hormone therapy.
Gays and trans people kept to their own corner of the world and no one gave them any shit, when the powers that be figured out that they're perfect to demoralize the population is when the hateful sentiment skyrocketed.
yeah he's gay, yeah it's a little unbelievable Marcus Aurelius made him hot and horny, but on the other hand Silver absolutely does shoot him in the head over it in the end
The pirate butt frickery is fine, as it was rampant historically and probably even understated in the show, but it maybe needlessly virtue signals on other topics that can get a little weary for a supposedly ‘historical’ show.
It’s also a bit soap opera-ish and constantly moves the characters from plot point to plot point without letting them breathe. Allin all still pretty entertaining, but don’t expect it to blow your mind.
>as it was rampant historically
I really want americans to frick off.
No, Cleetus. Homosexuals were not common and they never have been. Take your fantasy elsewhere.
Men have been fricking each other in the ass and sucking dick since we were apes, either out of necessity, boredom or desire. I dont want them having public parades where they parade around in leather fetish gear leading other men by dog collars either but pretending they don’t exist just because it offends your sensibilities is the mentality of a child.
Normally I would agree that Homosexuality (in the modern sense of the word with Men exclusive having hard gay relations with other Men) was pretty rare and considered degenerate by nearly every culture. But the Age of Sail is one historical topic that was pretty fricking gay, even historically. To the point where you literally cannot meet a sailor or navy person without a fricking gay joke being made. The whole concept of Sea Wives exists for a reason.
To put it another way, 17th-19th Century sailing vessels were basically a prison on the sea filled with press ganged drunkard males who spent literally months at sea with little or no female contact (although it wasn't uncommon for low status Women like prostitutes to be snuck aboard anyways). I'm not saying every sailor was a raging homosexual, but I guarantee that sailing vessels had a higher rate of homosex and gays than any other profession or place at that time. It just comes with the territory.
That being said I highly, highly doubt that sailors engaging in sodomy had any feelings of love or tender affection about it, it was purely a physical thing.
It's really fricking good. Ignore all these idiots. Yes, the main character is bisexual. No it's not his whole personality or even mentioned much. There's lots of breasts.
>typical gay man hating on the dumb women instead of the wiener sucking protagonist
Max was the worst part of the show and nothing else even comes close. Her breasts don't make up for how horribly written her character is, how much plot armor she has, or how often she goes on entitled feminist rants. Flint being a gay wasn't nearly as big a problem as the max/eleanor/bonnie drama. Rackham, Vane, Teach, the spanish, the new governor, and Flint when he pirates, are more than enough to make you forget about the hidden agenda bullshit.
Quite possibly the greatest television show I have ever seen. The dialogue was absolute unfiltered KINO. There was only one character I didn't like and I'm pretty sure you weren't supposed to like them to begin with. I think the less knowledge you have about Treasure Island the better you will enjoy the show and more surprised you will be.
this show had so much potential the first season is great. After that they decide the cool captain needs to have a gay backstory and its mostly downhill from there
"A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others."
I'm sure your a great person with lots of friends, loving family, and gets along with all their co-workers.
Starts cool, ends really really gay. b***hin' themesong, I like Anne Bonney and Jack Rakham as characters a lot and even went back to research the actual people afterwards. Anne got arrested, raped by a guard, had a baby and died. Jack got hanged. RIP
Butt pirates
>what will I think?
"wait what the frick, they made him gay? for no reason? shit i better watch something else"
You are literally me.
who is gay? will it be an important part of the story
Yeah, I don't know if they got a new writer or something, but a few seasons in it's revealed that ACTUALLY the motivation for the main character is that his boyfriend who he fricked in the ass a lot was killed.

it's not big deal. mentioned like twice in the show lol. closet homosexual autists just keep obsessing about it in every black sails thread
>t. homosexual
Don't listen to him. The show is kino, that reveal too, and if anything it's the women main characters that bring it down.
>typical gay man hating on the dumb women instead of the wiener sucking protagonist

As expected.
Go be american somewhere else, homosexual lover.
You're a closet homosexual gay Ahmed
>I NEED homosexuals in my media
>But you're the gay one
Fooling nobody. You are a refugee from Sodom.
It's gay and lame. Watch Spartacus. Breaks my heart since Toby Stephens is a kino enhancer.
>Don't listen to him
Oh fricking hell the homosexuals have arrived. They're even complaining about women lol.
tl;dr don't watch the show. It's got homosexuals and women as the focus instead of pirates and piracy.
You'll think it's one of the best shows and pirate media ever made, criminally underrated.
I’ll be honest, I low key believe there needs to be more trans representation in the show. We need some characters that have undergone gender reassignment surgery & are on hormone therapy.
Are you morons arguing there were no gay men prior to 2015? In the fricking navy at that?
Gays and trans people kept to their own corner of the world and no one gave them any shit, when the powers that be figured out that they're perfect to demoralize the population is when the hateful sentiment skyrocketed.
Not enough sex scenes. Should have been closer to Pirates.
it's pretty kino
It's kino imo, I enjoyed it. And I'm not gay.
>And I'm not gay.
[X] Doubt
I hated max with a passion and she made me drop the show.
All the women in this show are aids.
Except maybe Anne. Big maybe.
>FROM EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
MICHAEL BAY
Wow I wonder what to expect
Really great set design and production value, the ships are fantastic.
>that isn't black beard
just you wait OP, just, you, wait.

Man, Schlomo has done a number on you.

>Createad by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg
Something israeli
Keikaku prostitute ruined it for me. Fricking Max is insufferable.
yeah but her boobs
Literal butt pirates the show. Kino intro though.
Treasure Island pirates and real pirates mashup.
I really didn't like it at all due to some nonsensical retconning of the real pirates. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it as a fan of treasure Island.
Makes sense.
One of the best shows ever with a couple annoying women and gay storyline that tries to ruin it.
The moral of the show is "pirates frick literally anyone and anything" and it's amazing.
Full of breasts, minge, dongs and ass and it's violent as hell.
If you're not a 14 year old prude with no hair on his balls, you'll love it.
>oi it's got nudity m8 so it's good innit
This explains the state of British television
One of the top 10 LGBT shows ever made
It's really fricking good. Ignore all these idiots. Yes, the main character is bisexual. No it's not his whole personality or even mentioned much. There's lots of breasts.
Starts out ok. Season 3 and 4 get really good.
MC ends up with 1 leg but with nice queen gf with big tatas
Also surprise gays out of nowhere
Also if I remember prostitute got away with everything

>can we have pirates, but lgbt
the show
le stronk women ordering around groups of pirates in the first ep kek, don't be fooled into watching it if you're not a homosexual anons
He did it all for the bussy.
this show had so much potential the first season is great. After that they decide the cool captain needs to have a gay backstory and its mostly downhill from there
It’s frickin wild how much shit you guys will let be ruined for you because you can’t handle gay people existing lmao
Sodomites are not welcome in my entertainment any more than pedophiles are, why would I want to associate with evil
"A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others."
I'm sure your a great person with lots of friends, loving family, and gets along with all their co-workers.
It seems they are welcome since since you voluntarily went into this thread and then posted in it.
just jerk off to passion of the christ again for the 150th time you weirdo
>Thread is about a show focused on murderous, thieving pirates.
>Says its the gay people that make the show evil and thats why they cant watch it.
>why would I want to associate with evil
Flint is not a morally upstanding character
Starts cool, ends really really gay. b***hin' themesong, I like Anne Bonney and Jack Rakham as characters a lot and even went back to research the actual people afterwards.
Anne got arrested, raped by a guard, had a baby and died. Jack got hanged. RIP
too much backstory toward the end if you catch my drift
