Oh the show is awesome. Stop when you can tell they are stretching it out and be confident you made the right choice.

You get to watch the militarization of police in the US post 9/11. first few seasons are a comfy time capsule of pre 9/11 law enforcement.

first time through I just watched the Mythology episodes, which are the episodes that move the plot along. It's an okay way to watch the show, but you'll miss out on some of the best episodes that way.

If anything you should do the exact opposite.

It's a pretty good show. More good episodes than bad ones. Personally I watched up until the first movie. Vibe of the show switches up drastically when production moves to LA.

One of the best hair styles a woman can have. I guess it depends on the face shape I don't really know. It suited her. Deserved to be face fricked, a lot. I'm sure Gillian has experience.

Show was suppose to end at season 5 followed by this movie. It pretty much wraps up myth arc. But because such a hit Fox refused to end it and paid Carter a truckload of cash. Season 6 is fun but LA setting blows. Season 7 is hit or miss with more misses. 8 is same as 7. 9 is awful. Second movie is awful awful
and Nu Files revival is terrible

The movie wraps up jack shit (one of the biggest complaints about it).

The proper jump off point is the seasons six mid-season two parter Two Fathers and One Son, which is what the movie SHOULD have been.

Fun fact; the Rolling Stone photoshoot was supposed to be her and a guy in an alien costume. Anderson refused to do it unless the costume was changed to a regular monster, since she was sick of the show by that point. So they changed the alien to a swamp monster for her.

Supposedly reproduction prints of the photoshoot is also the only piece of X-Files memorabilia that Anderson has in her house as far as keeping a large print of the photo in her office on display.

Yet she willingly signed on to do more seasons after this.

This shows why X Files can never be successfully rebooted. They got lightning in a bottle with the two lead actors. Impossible to duplicate. And as much as Carter can seeth about it, it was why the show was successful

I just don't get why they did nothing with Dogget. He is a good actor and every episode is him whining like a b***h. Scully is literally pointless

WTF were they thinking with this trash

His character didn’t fit the show. It was generic cop show character

IIRC the plan was to have Scully now be the true believer and Dogget the new Scully. But Patrick and Anderson were having a hard time making the dynamic work and so they kept Scully as is, and introduced a new female character to play off of Dogget as Mulder/Scully 2.0

i disagree, i think they just need to find two actors that work well together. in that instance they were like oil and water, so the show suffered.

You can’t duplicate it. Show works because have unhinged character like Mulder who you like because DD deadpan chill style. Normally, a character like Mulder be annoying autistic loon. And Anderson Scully works because she’s hot but also believable as a medical doctor. Versus Fox’s desire have Pamela Anderson as Scully. Be as cringe as Denise Richards as nuclear engineer

She couldn’t. She had finish her contact. DD contact ended in season 6 and then DD sued FOX for royalties. This after he had them move the entire show to accommodate him

Should note that season 11 only happened as it did because DD, Anderson, and Carter got threatened with blackballing if they didn't come back and repent/denounce/wholesale retcon season ten.

The whole point of season ten (which should be treated as the ultimate final finale) is that the alien invasion FINALLY fricking happens and we get the ultimate downer ending of Mulder and Scully being killed off via death from above laser attack as they realize they failed miserably to stop the apocalypse.
