Honestly, I think the game would have worked much better if instead of using the Movie Tie-In Skwad™ they had just scraped the absolute bottom-barrel of the Z List Squaddies. People so meaningless that they're entirely below Brainiac's notice. Hell you could have had a fricking GTA style Wanted Level mechanic where if you frick up too often or make too much of a ruckus and you hit five stars or whatever, yup motherfricking Superman or Aquaman or the Flash rolls in and makes a sweep that'll be a TPK if you don't play your cards right.

Essentially, they blew their load way too early by making the Justice League the bosses of the game. I get that they were cashing in on the hype surrounding the movie and Injustice, but this is the first appearance of the Justice League properly in this particular series, and the fact they gave zero shits in properly building up how powerful the JL are before you gun them down shows they inherently don't understand the appeal of these superhero fights. It's supposed to be David vs Goliath, not Punisher vs Damage Sponge.

I only really saw a little bit at the start, but Flash at the start was cooler than I thought they'd make him. He saves the squad in a pretty cool way, they put the effort in so that when you're tracking the distance to him during this free roam cutscene, the tracker skyrockets as he zooms around, and when he's half dead and saves harley from a bullet, that's cool too. Batman also is introduced by oneshotting the squad one by one in a dark lair as they try to escape.
That section I saw felt like the Justice League are being treated fairly respectfully, but in the context of dealing with a bunch of huge shitheads.

I pitched a Superman game to Rocksteady and I genuinely feel like they ripped it off.
The JL gets taken over by Brainiac while Supes was away fighting Lobo. He (briefly) teams up with Lex (who later betrays him) to take down his former friends, although the whole point was to save them and not kill them. Each mission was a setpiece designed to showcase how powerful and dangerous each cape is, even having some villains like the Rogues trying to help people. The Flash boss battle took place around the world with both characters zooming at hyper speed, GL wasn't controlled but instead captured and you fought Sinestro instead, The Aquaman boss battle involved sea monsters and had Lobo returning out of nowhere to help because "he wanted to make sure his fellow dolphin-fan was doing alright", the WW and Shazam fights were more traditional boss brawls but had a lot of spectacle (WW's boss fight starts in the Hall of Justice), and the Batman started out with him in a mech suit, then switching to different vehicles and ending with him employing guerrilla tactics and ninja bullshit.
Obviously, Supes rescued the JL members at the end and took on Brainiac in a spectacle fight. The game ends in a hopeful note... until the heroes get an emergency alert and a flock of Parademons obscures the sunset.
The higher ups essentially brushed me off saying that only high level staff were allowed to pitch games but still took the USB drive with the design docs.
I'm genuinely malding now because after I left the company I was required to delete everything about this and now I don't have proof for a legal case.

Honestly, I think the game would have worked much better if instead of using the Movie Tie-In Skwad™ they had just scraped the absolute bottom-barrel of the Z List Squaddies. I get that they were cashing in on the hype surrounding the movie and Injustice, but this is the first appearance of the Justice League properly in this particular series, and the fact they gave zero shits in properly building up how powerful the JL are before you gun them down shows they inherently don't understand the appeal of these superhero fights. It's supposed to be David vs Goliath, not Punisher vs Damage Sponge.

I only really saw a little bit at the start, but Flash at the start was cooler than I thought they'd make him. He saves the squad in a pretty cool way, they put the effort in so that when you're tracking the distance to him during this free roam cutscene, the tracker skyrockets as he zooms around, and when he's half dead and saves harley from a bullet, that's cool too. Batman also is introduced by oneshotting the squad one by one in a dark lair as they try to escape.
That section I saw felt like the Justice League are being treated fairly respectfully, but in the context of dealing with a bunch of huge shitheads.

I almost never root for the villains but I would've like to have seen Branaic take over the world. It would've been incredibly cathartic to see Green Lantern or Flash just absolutely pulverize Harley, Deadshot and Boomerang.

I feel like this game might have actually worked if it came out in 2003, where things were a mix of Comedy Central bleeding edge humor being king, and all things old and traditional like 60s heroes were stupid and uncool.

I pitched a Superman game to Rocksteady and I genuinely feel like they ripped it off.
The JL gets taken over by Brainiac while Supes was away fighting Lobo. He (briefly) teams up with Lex (who later betrays him) to take down his former friends, although the whole point was to save them and not kill them. Each mission was a setpiece designed to showcase how powerful and dangerous each cape is, even having some villains like the Rogues trying to help people. The Flash boss battle took place around the world with both characters zooming at hyper speed, GL wasn't controlled but instead captured and you fought Sinestro instead, The Aquaman boss battle involved sea monsters and had Lobo returning out of nowhere to help because "he wanted to make sure his fellow dolphin-fan was doing alright", the WW and Shazam fights were more traditional boss brawls but had a lot of spectacle (WW's boss fight starts in the Hall of Justice), and the Batman started out with him in a mech suit, then switching to different vehicles and ending with him employing guerrilla tactics and ninja bullshit.
Obviously, Supes rescued the JL members at the end and took on Brainiac in a spectacle fight. The game ends in a hopeful note... until the heroes get an emergency alert and a flock of Parademons obscures the sunset.
The higher ups essentially brushed me off saying that only high level staff were allowed to pitch games but still took the USB drive with the design docs.
I'm genuinely malding now because after I left the company I was required to delete everything about this and now I don't have proof for a legal case.

The story lead is Sefton Hill, an alumnus at Rocksteady since the first Arkham game who ironically left the company a while ago.
These grifters have gotten obsessed with some consulting firm called Sweet Baby Inc. for some time, and think they're "killing gaming" or whatever, despite not having an impact on the main story.
It's the same tactic they tried to pull for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, where they tried to blame a remote intern for Mary Jane's face model for some bizarre reason.
What makes it more egregious is that they were looking for PoC writers specifically.
Martin Lancaster and Craig Owens (who wrote for Arkham Knight and Arkham VR) and Meredith Ainsworth (who wrote for the latter half of Batman: The Telltale Series) have higher positions but don't fit their brand of harassment.
