What's fricked up is that this is pretty much EU/Legends shit. This show is supposed to take place 100 years before Phantom Menace. I read a lot of the EU books, and everyone knows about the shit that happens AFTER the Battle of Yavin, but how many people read books that took place before Phantom Menace? That was the era where fan-fiction writers could basically play around in the Star Wars universe and create whatever they wanted. There's an infinite amount of races, on an infinite amount of worlds, fighting an infinite amount of creatures. A pink unicorn looking Jedi with a special silver light saber is fighting wienerroach monsters on a planet of diamonds? Go for it, because it effects nothing.
This is why I don't understand why Disney got rid of the EU. The director/showrunner is very talented and I like her a lot. I think she's a Star Wars nerd and having fun and wants to do right by it. It probably stands at best to be mediocre, but I'm rooting for her because I like her.
