Ferrari was absolute kino. Sarah Gadon was in it.
I was thinking more of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote from Gilliam, but yea, Ferrari was pretty shit as well.
Don Quixote is one of Gilliams handful of good movies
It's got some really kino scenes, great cinematography in the first half, but it goes completely into the shitter in the last half. Like wtf was all of that even about? Absolute dope induced nonsense.

Driver is based frfr, I don't see the issue. He wants to be in kino, and his name helps good directors make passion projects.
What else was he supposed to do, A25 zoomer idpol? He transformed more as Maurizio than Leo in any role. None of those names gave a kinetic sex scene like his with Gaga. He hasn't given a flat out iconic performance like Joaquin when the latter puts his mind to itt.
That sex scene was embarrassing tbh, everyone was hyping up how good it was then as soon as he went bunny rabbit mode it just became ridiculous. What a bad movie, I felt like I was in the theater for 5 hours.
He's former military so all these boomer directors respect him as he seems more mature (stoic) than other actors of his generation.

yes, he's 90y old gramps, so that's not something to brag about. it's a dumb mistake that's ruining the shot. instead of vertigo effect of man on the edge of a building, there's not even apparent that he's on the edge, only because there's a stupid dark building in the background clashing with the character
